Is this event really helping PvP?

  1. Having been participating in this event so far, a couple of things have come to my attention. I am a firm believer that PvP needs to be revitalised in to KaW and that events may help this, however I wonder whether this system is actually helping.

On my wall I have a post from a player named 1shamgar. He says something along the lines of "Im in a HTE so please wait until it's finished until you farm me".

That post got me thinking. Firstly, why opt in to the PvP event of you're more interested in EBing? But it's also sheer arrogance to opt-in and then ask to not be hit whilst you hit an eb. If you're in the event, you are in the event. There's no stopping for EB breaks. You have to know that before you enter the event.

And this leads on to the other thing that worries me. He clearly isn't very bothered with the PvP. Anyone who's more interested in a HTE clearly isn't very enthusiastic about it. But he will still get rewards, even if he only hits a player every now and then, because he gets the drops.

As an event attempting to promote PvP, I simply can't say that it's working. Yes, people are PvPing, but are they doing it for the right reasons?

Now, I'm not aiming this thread at harming this particular player. Because I have seen other cases of this. But this represents an issue in the wider kaw society which I'd like to get some opinions on.

  2. PvP for right reasons? The reason is equip lol. If I wasn't getting anything I wouldn't bother and just stick to my usual targets or missions.

  3. MAYBE YOU SHOULD STOP BEING SUCH A DICK AND LET THE POOR MAN DO HIS HTE. ALL HE WANTS HIS SOME MONEY THEM BULLIES LIKE YOU COME IN INTERFERING WITH HIS REGEN. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF OTHER TARGETS YOU CAN PICK FROM SO I SUGGEST YOU LEAVE HIM ALONE AND LET HIM FINISH HIS **** ING HTE GODDAMMIT

  4. LOUD NOISES

  5. But anyway, now I want to hit that dude on your wall even more lol

  6. It's not going to change the ways of pvp all at once. The event is for one, yes, used to cater to both sides but you can't expect EVERYONE that opted in to only pvp. (Who's to say he's not hitting HTE to pot up, or maybe grow to hit bigger opponents.) It's a step in the right direction that many are relatively pleased about, so enjoy your inc! It's the path to revitalizing pvp

  7. I think this event is helping many players to look into PvP. Now there will always be eb fairies but more and more ebs are being used to fund wars. I think over time we will see a kaw where all those who maxed buildings and levels are fighting one another and those who arent will be ebing to grow to get there.

  8. This event is pushing people to pvp so what does it matter pvp is just that there is no higher reason to do it hit and be hit.

  9. Tom must have over a dozen by now

  10. I both agree and disagree with this thread OP.

I'll confess to being an eb fairy, as much as I dislike the term. I've opted in for the reason that I want to get into PVP and wars but have had very little experience. While this may not be the most authentic pvp experience, it's still experience in continual attacking and defending.

I've been really enjoying this so far, even as a pure eb player.

  11. lol. what is the "right" reason to pvp?

  12. Easy easy. Have some Valium.

  13. Is it possible that the lad underestimated the amount of pots he would need to defend and is trying to raise the funds.....maybe he plans to get off the bench and back in the game shortly.... I have been there before

  14. Maybe he thought you had to opt in to do the event? I could see someone thinking you had to opt in even for the eb part of it. Maybe english not first language.

Could be fun if they made it like a giant ee war if you get pinned or pin on an eb you loose gold or something or get a debuff that means you make less plunder or your stats decrease. Lots of ways to make it interesting.

  15. I'm beginning to think it's you

  16. I think the lowest reward needs to be 1k at least, I smash that during the first day of this event

  17. Wait your sharing

  18. I think the event hurts pvp long term. Now we have our second event with pvp rewards. It's safe to assume there will be more in the future. I'm sure this will lead to people who will have targets they save only to hit during events.

What I mean by that is if I hit a big eb clan. Normally I expect to get jumped for a day or two before they give up or move on or whatever. But now I think I'll hit into some HTe clan. They'll "save my name" and threaten to get back to me "next pvp event" and probably won't ever do that. And I've already gotten complaints about people not being opted in but getting hit. I sure post event many people will say "why u hit me. Not event time. I report u" and that's just a terrible occurrence

Short term event posts pvp activity. Long term it harms the pvp community. That said I'll participate because my equip is a joke. And most of my current targets are as well

  19. I was PVP before this promo, I'll PVP after this promo. Only Noobs like the op need the promo to justify PVP.

  20. Let people play how they want. If you want to farm people then do it. If you want to EB then do it. It is only a game and there is a lot of pvp anyway.
