In need of some help

  1. Basically, I am writing the basic plot outline for a book I plan to write. Nameless to say, its in the fantasy genre, similar to GoT but far more mythological in context, no where near to the point of absurd fantasy however. The protagonists of the story are all very human, there is all very human conflicts involved, just the back drop of some animal inhabitants in the land 

Needless to say, I have a problem. To the West of the land I have created, I've always had this idea ; a deep, unlit place called the Lupus Depths, which will eventually have to be visited by one of the protagonists. The whole feel of the cave system is eerie, heck, I even came up with this idea of poisonous, luminous bright green moss on the walls of the caverns, but here is my dilemma. I want something dark, repulsive and evil, to be in the depths of this cave. Something that has been kept secret, preferrably a species or something dark, idk. Something waiting to rise up, having been laying dormant in this cave for a long time.

Now, my inspiration has just died for this part. I've already used large Spiders, and my second choice was some kind of repulsive green bug species that has bred in these caves for centuries, but somehow it just doesn't fit the GoT aura I'm trying to create? Any ideas, tips, or maybe pulling me to one particular idea like the insects would be appreciated. Ty ️

  2. C'mon, sell it to me bro, why Trolls? If you nail the description, you get a free seal 

  3. Tiny fairy people , and maybe make em half bat

  4. A creature that looks like human, but everyone is afaird of them. They're half human and half snake.

  5. The most frightening of creatures is man himself. Perhaps long ago there was a tribe/cult, cannibals perhaps? And now they have a society down in the depths based upon sacrifice and the worship of dark idols.

  6. 1. Lurkers from fallout new vegas. Google em.

    2. A deformned humanoid lifeform, tormenting the character as he explores.

    3. Minotaur

    4. An strange force which attacks the player mentally, and can only be defeated in such a mental attack.

  7. The Nozrul:

A fearsome species of blind, bat-winged, ape-like creatures. Their bodies torn and rotting from millennia spent dormant, their eyes a stark white, contrasting with their black fur. Unable to fly, they climb trees and glide great distances in search of prey, a term which means little to them. If it moves, it must be killed and eaten.

Their loud screeching allows them to echolocate, and thankfully gives potential victims a brief warning of their approach.

  8. You may or may not have read the Gone series of books by Michael Grant. If you have, consider the gaiaphage (you don't want the evil to be something glaringly obvious like a giant, the best evils are psychological).

  9. If not my previous idea, possibly some kind of virus or fungal infection that does something of your choice. Again, whatever you choose, make sure it's not clichéd.

  10. how about a species of millapede not giant just big enough to hand a man easaly poisinous paryzizing cant see but feels vibration ie weakness for explotation if you want guy to get away have him find a pet to sacrifice to it to describe how it tears its victims to peices thats good stuff bro i got tons of that hit me if you want more

  13. You probably don't care but...

Fine, you want me to sell it to you?

Ok so, these trolls have been laying dormant in a deep cavern, set by a sword called the Broken Dawn. Recently, the holder of the sword, a knight called, Sir _____ was killed by an unknown force. Since that incident, rumors of the trolls reawakening have been spread by wizards throughout cities. Their biggest fears have become answered, the trolls begin pillaging the hillside of _____.

The troll army is divided into 3 parts.

The "light" infantry- These are usually the first assault squad in any normal situation. They're natural thick skin makes it unneeded to wear anything else other than some leather clothing. Cause trolls have manners too. They usually use an axe or hammer.

The Hunters- These beasts are vicious killers. Often seen killing their own kind and starting riots. They are heavy armored and trained with a sword and shield. They are the backbone of the army, and many don't want to mess with one of these savages alone.

The Riders- These are the Calvary of the trolls. They ride giant wolves bred for killing. They are lightly armored and used to scout, ambush, and kill anyone that tries to run.

There. Have I sold you? No. But I'm about to.

Going once, going twice, going one more time.
Sold to the man in the red shirt for 200.

  14. I was going to try but then I read narwhals.....

  15. Try some species that was normally fine, for example elves, that dwelled on the surface. Then was pushed underground by humans, developed a hate for them. But gradually stopped going to the surface. Over time this species lowers it's standards, eats things raw, inbreeds. Becomes blind or nearly, has acute hearing and smell. Pretty much becomes much less than what it was, sad, but extremely frightening. You could have isolated examples of their original species before your main character enters here, the originals being in major cities or in poor states of living.

Evil frogs get sent into caves, become worse, hate humans. Gets all nasty. You get it.

  16. A spectral force, that once awakened by the protagonist slowly seeps into his being. Devouring first his mind, and then wasting his body away from the inside. It could be an ancient malevolent spirit which parasitically infests new hosts once the current one is past use
