  1. For the thousands of dogs and cats enduring a brutal death for China’s dog meat festival in Yulin this coming weekend, (22nd June) they have no choice. These poor animals, mostly stolen pets and strays, will be beaten to death and even in some cases boiled and burned alive, so that their meat can be eaten during the festival. They will die a truly horrible death, their last moments on this earth filled with fear and pain. As an animal lover, and just as a compassionate human being, I find that completely devastating.

You can do nothing, or you can make a stand against this atrocity.

The Humane Society, among other organisations are petitioning against this cruel 'Festival'. I understand there are many different cultures across the globe, but the way in which these animals are killed is unacceptable.

Please take some time to do some research yourselves. Watch some footage. Then sign a petition against it!

I don't normally do threads. I don't have the ability to do BB codes and the pictures would be horrific, but if anyone wants to post pics to demonstrate what goes on, please do.

Here is a link to The Humane Society one, but there are others out there.

If you've ever loved an animal you should sign this petition http://bit.ly/endyulin

    Thank you!

  2. Signing a petition in the US won't have an effect on anything in China, sorry.

  3. It's worldwide not just the U.S. Many countries are raising awareness. Make your voice heard

  4. In Korea they also eat dog meat but dogs with owners cannot be cooked....

and the worst part.... They believe that the more their death is painful, the more delicious it is..........

    It's so horrible....

  5. They're a different culture, they don't see anything wrong with it. You won't change their minds. And the Chinese government most likely will never even see this petition so it's a waste of time. It sucks, but it's the truth.

And no, I'm not an animal-hater, I have two dogs and a cat and have always loved being around animals. Plus people are animals too.

  6. You're wrong. In 2014 the Chinese Government bowed down to the opposition worldwide against the Festival and banned it from taking place. We can do the same this year and every year until it is no longer run.

  7. Jesus died to save human beings, not animals

  8. No Trolls. This is serious and happening soon. We need to act now

  9. Human beings are animals...

  10. Cultural norms are different in other regions of the world. Though most see canines as companions and pets, some see them as food. Dogs have been bred and domesticated by humans for hundreds of years. We adopted the species as "pets", some may not see them as pets. Heck, some people even have pet cattle. Most see cattle as beef. Isn't that wrong then? Isn't it cruel in general to kill innocent animals and consume them? Some may say "survival of the fittest", some may also say "that's life" then break into song. Frank Sinatra knows what's up. Anyway I really don't know where this post is going but I don't recommend you eat your pets. That includes the goldfish too.

  11. They eat guinea pigs in some South America or Central American country. Can't remember which.

    I'd eat a guinea pig.

  12. I don't have an issue with eating whatever meat is freely available. You're missing the point.

It's the inhuman torturing and way the animals are killed that's at fault here

  13. Different countries have different rules ...what can you do...nothing

  14. You choose to do nothing. That is your right. I choose to do something. That is my right.

  15. Okay see you in China

  16. disturbing much!

  17. I'll have a quarter pound puppy with cheese and some kitty mcnuggets.

  18. Millions of bugs every year die because people spray bug spray on them

Chickens only live for 6weeks before they get the chop

Over fishing is killing drastically reducing the fish in most areas

Tigers are being hunted to extinction

I can chant much more but what's your big point, the animal will be eaten not wasted it's always been their tradition to feast upon a dog or cat. We are no different some times worse. What you're saying for them is basically trying to stop a turkey ending up on your plate at thanks giving

  19. I admire your enthusiasm, but honestly, do you know the sheer amount of stray cats, alone, that exist in the United States? I volunteered at a county animal shelter for a few months a few years ago. They had to euthanize hundreds if not thousands of cats a week, because they just kept coming in. So I can just assume the amount of stray dogs and cats in china is insanely high.

Sure their methods of killing may not be as humane as one would hope, but it still could be a way for them to cut down the stray animal population.

    Just a thought.
