Recently the death of Eric Garner has been reviewed by courts and judges. And to be told today no justice will be served is a disgrace. Eric had hands up in the air not resisting arrest yet was attacked viscously with a choke method which isn't allowed. Another family man killed. What's this world coming too. I myself am not American but I find it outrageous that unprovoked attacks are still taking place and whilst having links to racism. RIP Big Eric #ICantBreathe
I'm sorry to say, but a man with arms up isn't asking for a fight. It has even been seen in recent 24 hours how when a police man did the same choke to a white man he was fired. But a black man he's been investigated only to be left alone and carry on his job. Eric was a vulnerable man who had no intentions to fight and the fact he yelped I can't breathe 8 times and they continued to choke him is a racial attack to say the least. A family man who is minding his own business and all of a sudden a group of people jump on his back and it's deemed a non racial attack.
I disagree. Anger or abuse is not always race involved. Maybe the officer woke up that morning and his wife spit in his coffee? It is a sad and unfortunate event, you are simply looking at the color of the skin of the people involved. These types incidents happen everyday across the globe. It is people that don't know or understand the situation that look at a video and then start mass grumblings and issues. There are major issues socially everywhere. More minorities commit crimes therefore something this is more apt to a minority. It is also know that more minorities are also impoverished so they need to provide income in other ways. Society is to blame as much as any individual who puts themselves in the situation to begin with. When I was a teenager long ago, I was beaten by a Afro American officer on a routine traffic stop. Yes I am a white American Nothing was done about it because in those days because there wasn't a witness, and cameras were not everywhere. I was a smart mouthed teenager and he simply may have had a bad start to a day. Who knows why he did to me what he did. Either way, you don't know what happened because YOU WERE NOT THERE!!!
I'm also a White British. And how can someone get away with an illegal choke. Attacking someone unprovoked that's 2 charges before we get started yet he walks away Clean. It's as clear as water it's a racial attack
Imagine this being your father stood at a shop and a group of 'Police' who are supposed to 'support you' come over and start choking and slamming him. You'd feel pretty niffed off.
My apologies for some broken comments. This issue does hit close to home. I was choked, beaten with a night stick, thrown on the ground, and spent 3 days in the hospital. You don't know the entire event. You cannot make a quality decision on the matter because you are looking at it from afar. You are only looking from your own personal angle and not objectively. Unless you are a victim of abuse, or your self an abuser, or someone that was involved, you can only offer your opinion. If he wouldn't have been selling narcotics, just as myself wouldn't have been speeding, non of those actions you see in the video would have taken place or I wouldn't have been pulled over by the officer that pounded my face in that day
I agree with death dealer. race shouldn't matter in this were all humans. color shouldn't matter but sadly society thinks differently sometimes. But imo I think this was wrong that they choked him, maybe they had a reason to arrest him but when there are four people on a defenseless man that's just overkill. Sure pin him, push him down if u have a reason, but to choke him to death or for so long that it killed him just isn't morally right especially when this cop had a lot of backup. And especially when he said he couldn't breathe because at that point he was pinned and a choke hold wasn't needed to arrest him. Sure he's a big guy and bigger than the cops but seriously? Four V 1 and to go for the neck isn't right. And that is just my opinion, I'm not saying I'm right especially since I didn't actually witness it but from what I know, that is what I think. ~nicko
I agree and disagree with op. Not all cops are bad but know all cops are treated like they abuse everyone. But however some ruin it for them and do horrible acts like this. Even though we do not know the whole story and there could have been more to it, it's still a horrible thing so therefore I say #Icantbreathe
Shut up op you don't start threads about black cops killing white guys.. You're the one who is racist all you people study is bringing up skin color and whining and complaining about how it isn't fair and it's the WHITE MAN that's holding you down when something the exact opposite happens you hear none of it why? Because we aren't black .. You should at least read into all crimes and make notice of them also but no let's ignore those and try to get something for nothing and blame it on the ******* tone of your skin .. Seems legit -.- just like the Native American ******** just shut up and go to work and obey the law this guy was choked to death that was wrong but he was breaking the law have you ever watched cops? They don't go easy on them because if they do or give the suspect the benefit of the doubt they get shot
If you were married and your wife spit in your coffee, that doesn't make you go kill someone. Bad things can happen to people maybe a black person did something horrible to the officer. But no matter what, that shouldn't excuse the officer for what he did.
He was only minorly breaking a law. He did not deserve to die for that, whether he was black, white, purple, or green.
I think it was excessive what the police did. They could've just rammed him against wall for not cooperating, grabbed his hands and put handcuffs on. if a cop ever stops you and asks for hands put them out so they can put cuffs on and wait til u get to police station to resolve everything.
He wasn't selling narcotics. He was selling cigarettes. The reason that's against the law is that the greedy GOVT. wasn't making tax money off his sales.
