  1. Together for one last time........

The sky grew dark, threatening to rain. Dusk stood out in the rain, as it began to fall, still as a statue. The rain reflected off of her, shuddering from the cold of her skin. She was waiting, waiting for someone. The darkness clung to her like static against a sock. Dusk was dressed in black, waiting. A twig snapped and Dusk whirled around, ready to punch whoever was there.
"Whoa there girl," Luna said putting her hands up, smiling.
"Hey! Don't sneak up on me like that!" Dusk exclaimed, laughing.
They burst out laughing. Dusk was a whole different person around her twin. Luna was able to relax Dusk, convince her out of her own warpath sometimes. They hooked arms and went off, stumbling and laughing.
Suddenly Luna froze. Dusk responded instantly, also freezing. They listened and suddenly a branch snapped. Instantly Luna had climbed a tree, sword pulled out of it's scabbard, ready for attack, and Dusk crouched below, sword also out. Everything was still, nothing moving or breathing. Luna took a small breath, looking down at Dusk. Suddenly someone came out and attacked Dusk. She instantly fought, but he enemy was too powerful. He knocked her out, but Luna dropped down. He knocked her out, dragging Dusk but leaving Luna. Dusk struggled but had no luck. Luna tried to catch up but she soon fell behind and wiped unconscious.

    Luna

I whipped my head around, slashing my sword into the next tree. This was the only way I could escape the darkness that threatened to swallow me up, the darkness that came with losing Dusk. I already knew that I had to find her, and soon. I had to save her....
My mind worried about how she was being treated while I was found and lived lavishly in a beautiful palace. No one was able to locate Dusk and I knew that I had to. I needed Dusk to keep me sane and listen to my thoughts. I practiced all the time, growing stronger so I could rescue Dusk.
"Haven't you've had enough?" Twilight asked, coming up behind me.
"No!" I exclaimed. "You know what will happen to me if I stop!"
I kept practicing, despite Twilight's protests. Finally she left, and came back with Amber. I rolled my eyes.
"Luna, you have to stop and relax," Amber tried coaxing me, but it didn't work.
I ignored them, pausing to get a drink of water. Then going back to slashing trees. I had to be ready, I couldn't live without Dusk. Twilight and Amber didn't realize how much having a twin right there meant to me.
I finally took a break, but spent it engulfed in tears and the memory of that night, the night that tore my life apart. I was soon gasping for air, torn apart by the evil. Twilight and Amber soon led me to my room, trying to get me to stop crying. They said it had been a few weeks and I should be over it by now.
"It's only been one week!" I exclaimed wiping tears off my face.
Most of my joy, my humor, my spirits were because of Dusk. Without her there was a huge hole in my heart. I had to be strong though, and stand up for myself.
I took a deep breath, feeling a little better. Fight to get her back, I thought, slipping into my kill and win mode that I needed to stay strong. I picked up my sword and slid it into the loop of my belt, I had to always be prepared.
I jumped off my bed and headed back out to the training grounds, ready to spring into action. People gave me a wide berth, knowing that when I had the look, that I held right now, I was highly dangerous. I closed my eyes, but fluttered them open again before memories could consume me. I stood poised, ready for anything. A light breeze blew, rustling the leaves and calming me down. I climbed my favorite maple tree and sat, thinking. I looked down and saw Twilight and Amber discussing what they thought was my *condition.*
Why aren't they training? I though to myself as I looked down. They aren't hurt, but they aren't training. I grew angrier, not letting that go. I dropped down from the tree and stomped over towards them.
"Train, train, train!" I screeched, pushing them towards the training grounds.
"Luna!" Twilight called out, and I could hear concern in her voice.
I didn't care though, they needed to prepare, to train. No matter what.
Why wouldn't they be? We needed to save Dusk and in order to do that we had to have a strong military, especially us. Twilight, Amber, and I had to be strong, had to be in order to save..... Though I was sure Dusk could fend for herself, we were going to help her anyways.
I pushed them towards the training grounds despite their protests. As soon as we got there I ran to the sword shed and emerged again with two swords and pushed them into their hands, forcing them to grab it. Then I started fighting, slashing through the light layer of clothing and fluff the practice dummies wore.
Everything blended together the longer I practiced, my head also grew light, suffocating itself. I finally sat down, taking a few gulps of water and relaxing for a few seconds. I attempted to go back to training when Twilight and Amber caught me.
They held me down, refusing to let me pick up my sword and practice. I struggled but failing to loosen their grip. I finally gave in, fatigued from practice. They smiled releasing their grip, yet I made no move to leave, they had broken me.

    Dusk

I slid my fingers along the cool stones that made up the wall in my bedroom. I sighed, remembering that last week I had been with Luna, my twin, and everything was okay. Now, not so much. These people fed me and let me explore, but I was missing something, the company of another person just like me. I assumed that Luna would be looking for me, but I was never sure. Everything seemed like a far off dream now, everything except for the cold, stone walls of my room, aka prison.
I had mostly given up, but there still was a slight glimmer of hope. But that was mostly despaired hope. I had tried to learn what these people, who wouldn't tell me who they are, were going to do. I grew worried, but couldn't do anything about it, for I was trapped.
I just had to play along for the time being. I lay down on my bed again, trying to think. So much could be happening and I was stuck here.
The rough edges of each of the individual stone blocks were familiar, for I traced over them at least ten times a day. I had let my hand drop, my eyes falling from another desperate attempt to find an escape. I had to accept the fact that there were no loose stones and I had to find escape elsewhere.
"Lunch!" the voice of the evil was thick and disgusting.
Soon he arrived at my room dressed in many jewels. He entered, carrying an elegant lunch tray with his pudgy, greasy fingers. He set the tray down on the table and grabbed my thin wrist with his chubby hand, it was all I could do to not grab my hand back. He dragged me over to lunch where I reluctantly sat down. This guy was fat. He wore a robe like a shirt, and many jewels. His hands were chubby, his fingers just greasy stubs. Ick.
Meanwhile I was wearing a deep red dress that fell to the floor and looked great on my thin body. I had lost weight since they caught me, considering this was the first time they had given me lunch. I silently started eating as the guy took a chicken leg and practically inhaled it, a few pieces falling out of his open mouth. He was definitely one of the more disgusting people.
I carefully ate my lunch with perfect manners as Dad had taught me. When I was done he grabbed the tray, in a rush, and hurried out, slamming the door behind him. I cringed, flopping down on "my" bed. I wished I could get out, away from these people. But I couldn't and it was practically killing me. I knew dinner wasn't going to be for a while, but I still hoped that they would feed me regularly. But they didn't.
They would always feed me five hours after my last meal. This was very different from my palace life where I got fed and nurtured, but enough with my self pity.
I lay on my bed, trying to think up a way to escape. I walked across the room, picking up my jewelry box and placing it back on the bed. I pulled out a diamond necklace, the only the that was mine in this strange place. I remembered when my family had given me the necklace.
That night..... It was my birthday and I had opened all my presents. I got had gotten to the last present. It was a little purple box. I opened it and pulled out the necklace.
I snapped back to the present. I shook my head, latching the necklace around my neck. I collapsed on my bed again, falling into a light sleep.

    Luna

Leaf was there. Like that made everything okay,as if. But apparently he was just here to help me calm down. Right, that'll happen, I thought to myself. I stood up, gave Leaf a hug, and simply went back to training, ignoring the stares.
I heard Twilight whisper to Leaf, clearly concerned. I looked back, and saw Leaf shake his head before coming over to me. He was going to stay on my side for something I didn't know about, yes!! I could feel Twilight stare at our backs, practically burning holes in our shirts with anger. Amber, on the other hand, was looking okay with the situation but lost in her own world.....
"Luna, come on, let's take a walk, okay?" Leaf pulled me off the training field and into the gardens.
I left my sword behind, guided by Leaf. We sat down on a bench in front if the fountain. I sensed that this would he a serious discussion.
    "Yes?" I asked hesitantly.
"Luna," he started his voice sounded pained, " Listen, I know that you want to rescue Dusk and I do too, but you have got to relax. Everyone is making battle plans and training for you. Do me a favor and take a break for the day and come relax with me."
I thought about this new statement, "Sure, I'll take the day off for you."
    "Good."
Leaf kissed me on the lips softly, pulling me into a hug. I smiled, happy, and finally feeling like I could relax. We walked around the gardens, and the complicated labyrinth next to them. I was smiling and laughing for the first time in a week. It felt great.
"What did Twilight say to you before?" I asked him.
"Oh, she just said, 'if you don't fix her then I will get you,' " Leaf imitated Twilight's voice perfectly.
"Really?" I laughed, but hiding from Leaf was the thought, 'she really thinks I need fixing?'
"Yep, and I think we're lost...."
"I thought you were supposed to be some great tracker!" I made fun of him.
"Hey! Is it really a bad thing we're lost?" Leaf asked as we approached a sparkly gazebo.
    "I don't know...."
We sat down together. Dusk was falling, the sun lowering itself in the sky. I leaned on Leaf's shoulder, suddenly tired. He wrapped his arms around me, slightly shaking.
"You cold?" I asked him, surprised.
    "No, just nervous."
    "For what?" I asked, shocked.
    "For this."
Leaf sank down onto one knee, and I gasped. This was a huge surprise to me. I mean, I knew we were going to end up married but this was just shocking.
"Lunareclipse Windnote Star Firebird Marbel, I promise to love you forever, will you marry me?" he pulled out a box with a ring nested inside.

    Dusk

I hoped someone would come soon, soon meaning now. In my free time often my captors thought I needed to do something so they would send me to clean up the dragon stables. The dragons often tried to burn me to a crisp. And the dung? That was just wretched. It's soggy and gives off an awful smell. I was up to my knees in it, luckily wearing rubber boots..... I wiped my nose with what spare sleeve I had left.
"Dusk!" the stable boy called my name.
The stable boy, Nikka, was the only good thing in this place. Nikka had sandy brown hair, and blue eyes. He had muscles and a six pack. At night he would sometimes come and visit me. Maybe he was my soul mate.
"Yeah?" I replied, turning to see him running towards me.
"Sent you to do stable cleaning?"
    "Yeah..."
Nikka smiled, pulling out a shovel and started helping me. We shoveled in silence for a minute. The dragon dung was being put in a wheelbarrow which I had to take out every once in a while.
"So, you had a twin?" Nikka was always asking me questions about my family.
    "I have a twin," I corrected him.
"Right, and where exactly is she?"
"I assume she is getting ready to rescue me from this dump," I motioned around the stables.
"Sure, she probably forgot you," he laughed.
    "Yeah, right," I laughed.
Did she really forget me?!? I was shocked by even the thought of it.
Nikka, seeing the crestfallen look on my face, quickly said, "But I'm sure she didn't, she's probably getting a whole army ready to come get you."
I laughed, feeling slightly reassured. I sighed, stretching for a minute.
"Who would've thought that dragon poop needs to be picked up?" I laughed, remembering that Luna and I had thought it just disappeared magically.
    "Yeah, really," Nikka laughed too.
I blew a loose strand of hair out of my face, not succeeding. I looked around, smiling when I realized that most of the dragon dung was gone.

  15. Together for one last time pt 2

    Luna

I stared at Leaf, my mouth gaping open. I shut it quickly, making a snapping sound with my teeth.
"Are.. Are you serious?" I asked immediately losing the chance of answering with a magical yes or a heartbreaking no. Of course I had to say the worse thing possible.
"I mean, uh, yes. Yes!!" I exclaimed that magical yes coming once the magic had left. Stupid me. Messing up the only time I'd ever get a proposal.
Leaf slipped the beautiful ring on my ring finger, the diamonds glittering in the setting sun. I smiled, now this was magical. Leaf smiled too, standing up and kissing me.
"Princess!" a guard burst through te shrubs, stopping short.
I immediately pulled away from Leaf, blushing.
"Yes?" I asked the guard, trying to compose myself.
"Duskstar has been located!" he exclaimed, motioning me to follow him.
I ran after him pulling Leaf behind me.
"Lu-" Leaf pulled me back to him.
"Yeah?" I asked, impatient and wanting to run after the guard.
He hesitated. "I'm glad they found her," he said after a moment.
I nodded turning back to run after the guard spinning the ring on my finger.

    Dusk

The rain fell heavily, bombarding the roof of the castle with raindrops.
