Each build has its own purposes... I prefer hansel, or hybrid. I'm going hybrid right now and it's a good, well rounded build. I think metal storm made a guide for hybrids so you can check that out. Hansels are also great, there are many guides on that build as well. Attack builds serve their purpose and make the most cash, but in my opinion are not the best in war.
Attack: Pro: Amazing cash Can easily get sdp's against spy's with all the cash they get Con: Handles will kill them Any spy build will be a grave threat IMO build a couple spy buildings so you can scout bomb spy's with pots.
I'm a hybrid but it takes a lot of BFA to be a great hybrid. I have about 13mil BFA and 300bil banked in bronze bars(strip funds on this acc) so I can hit most anyone around my build Farely easily. I would go spy heavy or equal because attack allies are much easier to find and much more BFA from them
Hansels can't kill all hybrids GU. If you put the money in allies you can blow through hansels, and I recently just sold my spy towers for full refund, that helps with spy defense
I'm going for 24 SOS and 24 attk buildings, one tower and of course a castle. It works for me. I've never done war so I don't worry about that, but it serves it's purpose for EBs and farming. Cash income probably isn't the highest but its enough to upgrade constantly. The tower is mostly just to even out the build as the castle takes up one space but I have to say its been useful for defense when arguing with slightly bigger people. I don't care what some people say about towers being stupid and not helping, it's helped me. An even hybrid build works well for me, but then I guess it depends on what you are using the build for.
