The Helms of Magic have been around since the beginning of time. A Helms give the wearer the ability to control an element, such as fire, water, earth, air, darkness, light, ect. To create such a helm takes such a massive amout of energy that only the most powerful of megicians have pulled it off. The magicians that wore the Helm would be almost unstoppable. That is, until the two most powerful helms, Darkness and Light, started arguing. The other helm-wearers, or MH's (magic helms) started taking sides. The desroyed each other, but in the last few minutes of his life, Merlinian, wearer of the Light Helm, scattered all of the helms across the globe. With that, the last EH died. The helms seemed lost forever, until...

  3. Chapter 1
Kantos was walking down an alley. He was thinking about how well he pickpocketed the his last victim when he heard sounds of fighting. He drew his knife and quickened his pace. When he got to the scene, he found two men punching the heck out of another guy, who seemed to be holding some sort of helmet. The men were trying to pull the helm out of his hands, but he wouldn't let go. Kantos, who had just been standing there, didn't know who to help. So he decided that the helm might be worth something, so he silently crept up on the first two men. He stabbed the first one and slit the second one's neck. When they fell, the third man, who had a shocked look on his bloody face, started to run. "Oh no you don't!" Kantos yelled and threw his knife, impaling itself in the man's back. Kantos strode over and picked up the helm. Something seemed to be radiating from the helm, but Kantos just shoves it in his back and goes back to the inn.

When he is back in his room, Kantos takes out the helm.  He studies it, and notices that it was black, but the outline was gold. He thought he would look scary so he put it on. Strangely, he feels different, almost stronger. He runs to the mirror, only to find that he had no reflection. Kantos gasps. He has the Elemental Helm of Darkness!

  4. Chapter 2
Utho walked in to the bar. He slid onto a barstool and ordered a drink. While he was waiting, an old man with a knife hobbled towards him. Utho instinctively stood up and balled his fists, but the guy just said, “Don’t worry kid, I’m too old to fight.” The man grinned and sat down, saying, “Hey kid, can you fight?”
“What’s it to ya?” Utho replied.
“Oh, I was just offering someone some gold to do my dirty work.” The man sighed.
“How much gold, exactly?” Utho asked suspiciously.
    “500.”
“FIVE HUNDRED?! I-I am pretty good with a crossbow so uh, what do you want me to do?”
“I am going to give you the name and location of a man who I have a, well I guess you can call it a blood feud. I’m supposed to kill some dude who I really don’t like. Are you up to it?” The man asked.
    “Of course!” Utho exclaimed.
“Good, so here’s the thing. The man, Brom, lives in the southern part of the village. His hut has a red and black flag flying on the roof. Considering that’s a 2 mile hike from here, I’ll give you three hours, understand?”
“Sure thing!”  Utho said, and he ran out of the bar. He kept running until he reached his destination. He took out and loaded his crossbow. He crept around until he found the hut with the flag. He quietly picked the lock and creaked open the door.  He examined his surroundings. He was in a hallway with a door on each side. He slid down to the door on the left. He pushed it open to find it empty. He went to the door on the right. It was empty as well. So he went to door at the end of the hallway, and opened it. It was obviously a kitchen, with a man sitting at the table. The guy, who Utho assumed was Brom, started to reach for the knife on his belt. “Oh no you don’t!” Utho cried, and shot the arrow straight in to his heart. My first kill Utho thought as he ran out of the hut.
He jogged back to the bar where he saw the old man leaving. “Fool! You think I would actually pay you 500 gold for killing one person? Ha ha!” The man yelled, then turned and ran into the forest. Enraged, Utho sprinted after him. After a very long and tiring chase, Utho finally tackled him. He took the knife off the man and stabbed him. Then, he fished out a pouch of gold and shoved it in his pocket. That makes two. he then saw a gleam beside the old man. When he got closer, he realized it was a half-buried red helm. He dug it up and had an urge to put it on. When he did, he felt a warm sensation come over him. He noticed a mark on the dead man’s hand. When he stared at it intensely, it burst into flames! He stomped on it, not believing his luck! He found a helm enchanted with fire! He rushed back to the village and got a group of people to watch him show off his helm. When he focused on something he accidently looked at a hut. It burst in to flames. Soon, the whole row of huts were in flames, and it was spreading. People were screaming and yelling curses at Utho, who turned and ran into the forest. He had never felt so humiliated in all of his life. He tore off his helm and threw it into the night, then turned and ran.

  5. Chapter 3
    Meanwhile...
Jason and his friend Travis were playing poker. Neither of them had money, so the bet that who ever lost had to dig a six foot hole and sit in it for five minutes. So as the game went played on, Jason got a straight. Getting cocky, Jason dramaticly layed down his card, saying, "I'm not diggin no hole."
Travis, a sly grin on his face, said, "Oh yes you are!" and layed down a royal flush. Not wanting to look like a coward, he grabbed his shovel and ran out the door.

As he was digging, his shovel suddenly hit something hard. Thinking it was a rock, he reached down to pick it up. To his surprise, he realized it was some sort of helmet. The helmet was brown with green trim. To scare Travis, he put it on and kept digging. Getting excited, he thought, I wish this would go faster and as if on cue, the hole lowered to six feet! He couldn't belive it! He ran back into the tent and told Travis. Travis didn't believe him so Jason tried to make a small, deep hole. Since he wasn't very experienced, he made the hole a little too big and to his dismay, Travis's chair fell in, along with Travis!  Jason didn't know what to do, because he couldn't fill up the hole in fear of burrying Travis alive! So Jason did the only thing he could. He made a hole and threw the "cursed" helm into it. Then, he ran into the forest.

  6. Chapter 4
Take your mark, GO! Selene dove in to the water. The race, which was the semifinals, was very important. It was at the pond, where there aren't any fish. The water is crystal clear, so its perfect for a race. As she was swimming, she glanced over and saw that she was in second! There were only 15 yards left to go, so she harness all of her energy and let it all out. Sprinting, she was gaining fast. There was the wall and... she took a final stroke. As she hit the wall, she noticed another girl hit at the same time! The got out and walked to the judges. The woman said, "Congradulations, Selene, you won by one hundredth of a second!" The girl in second place turned and shook Selene's hand. Selene was speachless. Her mind was racing, and she was thinking about how much training layed ahead. She was going to the finals!

Later that night, just before the sun went down, Selene went back to the pond. She wanted to train as much as possible, so she dove in and warmed up. After a while, she decided to practice dives. Her first dive was perfect, and she though she saw something shiny at the bottom of the pond. She got out and dove in again, and this time she dove deeper. When she got to the bottom, she realized it was a blue helmet. She wanted to bring it up to examine it, so she pulled it out and started back up. The extra weight was making it difficult, though. She wished that they were goggles and just like that, they were! Amazed, she put them on. Releif spread across her and she realized she was no longer sruggling for air. In fact, she was breathing normally! Dumbfounded, she explored the true power. She realized that she could swim without tiring by willing current to pull her along, as well as her ears didn't hurt from going to far down. She could ajust the temperature of the water, but still she liked breathing underwater the best. She couldn't wait to race!
