Good Ol' Days or PVP is not Optimized Anymore

  1. Before Events, before Abyss, Hoarfrost and Highlands, before Epic Battles and EE there was raw KaW.

    It was full of people trying to figure out (as much to exploit as to share and just know) how KaW worked. There were formulas for calculating Max plunder. Spreadsheets to track hits on strips and other odd ball things.

    One of the things I miss is the space bar spam "feature" . Back then the space bar acted as a quasi repeat allowing you to do certain actions over and over <unload on opponent or OSF/OAF>.

    Now different OSs have different procedures to attack or spy someone. If I remember on a droid it can take 5 or 6 clicks (more if using some, but not all pots) just to do one steal

    Select Attack
    Select Steal
    Select All Pots or more clicks for each Indy
    Select Continue
    Select Close

    Repeat from Attack down for full unload

    EB
    select EB
    Select Attack
    Select Steal
    Select All Pots or more click for each Indy

    Select Repeat Action

    Repeat Repeat Action for full Unload

    There is a huge difference in number of steps.

    Also look at Home Screen EB entry point is larger than Battle

    Compare the Ally Buying Screen with the Battle List Screen. Which gives you better info to make a decision?

    KaW once was optimized for PvP as that was pretty much the only way to play. Now there are many ways to play but perhaps ATA could think up some good ideas to put PvP back on even turf with EBs.

    Look at realistic battle ranges including EQ, Allies etc. This would allow new kingdoms to not be preyed upon by drop builds.

    Create PvP events beyond just hack and slash farm OSF/OAF with Max daily Xtals to get stuff.

    Start by Incorporating number of unique targets into the equations so farming becomes less and less advantageous but spreading the love (outside clan) is more rewarding

    Develop new PvP arenas.
    1v1 or small team knockout events. Last Kingdom or Team standing Wins (give a kingdom reputation counter)

    Capture the Flag event, similar to above but one kingdom on each side holds flag. Kingdoms are placed on matrix battlefield and must be defeated before the enemy can advance (think Stratego)

  2. Support. Spoken like a vet (then I looked and sure enough 5yr badge).

    Clan banks used for stripping. Loyalty bonuses. Ability to damage others' build strength by # of successful hits / offset by having to pay to 'repair' your kingdom (need a gold sink? Just saying). As me and many others have said / asked, what is the next iteration or enhancement that kicks off kaws' next growth phase / golden age?
     
  3. Could start by making BL much more lucrative to account for the 4 extra device taps (effort) and risk.

    (Mentioned many times before)

    For instance, I steal off BL when full - 70M. I steal on eb when full - 150M. Not right.

    Just make it like permanent gold + normal crux chest when hitting BL. Maybe just normal crux equivalent when not hitting off BL.

    Best part of KAW was when you first logged on, everything was new and exciting and people were attacking you. Until you upgraded your stable / guild and took your vengeance.
     
  4. Agreed Radagast, but until the community provides ideas that make financial sense to ATA I think we are stuck with what we have.

    Also what's with all these annoying idea threads now?
