Hi Everyone, There has been a lot of discussions about the gold exploit in the game, and the fallout from it. We just want to provide a few updates, as well as further clarifications on the steps we took to resolve the problem. 1) The assets we took to reclaim the gold include buildings, allies, potions, bronze bars and inferno. There are certain players that we are still in the process of reclaiming gold from, and we will soon be expanding this process to include lands. Using exploits like this hurts the community as a whole, and ruins the game experience for many. We are fully committed to doing all we can to remove all gold created through this exploit. 2) There have been speculation and question as to why certain players have been refunded bronze bars. Theories such as being part of a moderator team or being a big spender have been proposed. The real reason is that when we ran the correction script, we incorrectly calculated the amount owed for a small number of players (15). For those 15 players, we refunded them the difference in bronze bars. 3) Many of the players who use these exploits are significantly weakened due the removal of their assets. For the owners of these players, we have refunded them the cost of this ally in bronze bars. If a player actually wants to keep the players, they can sell the bronze bars and rehire them. 4) There are players that have had everything removed, who are now unable to rebuild because they have no stats. We will be converting some of their lands to bronze bars, so that they can rebuild as they see fit. 5) Finally, if you have an issue with a specific player, please contact us privately via our support channels. Failure to do so may result in a forum ban as it is a violation of the Terms of Use.
Question! If labeling and calling these people CHEATERS, which is what they're, a violation of the ToU? Also, could you give an estimate of how many players were caught funneling gold to their Alts?
Calling other names is not going to help the situation. We hope the actions we are taking now will discourage any future exploits from being used, but is instead reported as soon as they are found so that we can fix it. We will not be disclosing any numerical data, sorry.
Stay on topic pleasde. And also yes it is a no no to accuse players of cheating. Email support with any issues.
I won't get my refun of bronze bars likely because I reset when I realized I couldn't do one single thing on my useless account
Oh well you took the risk of exploiting. @Ace it's not accusation if they were caught cheating. It's an accurate label. Less pity for cheaters and more pitchforks and burning at the stake.
If you didn't catch my sarcasm let me explain, the previous statement was entirely false. If ATA Fucks up some code and we find a way to profit off of it it's their fault not ours, why should we be penalized when it's their mistake??
I'm asking if referring to them as cheaters is a violation of the ToU. IMO, they're cheaters, they abused this situation. It's not like I'm accusing someone that is just a kingdom I don't like. Many view them as cheaters, idk why trying to protect their names is something you see as a priority.
@Sig BECAUSE YOU ABUSED IT! You didn't stop, you kept going, you knew it wasn't correct to the mechanics of the game or how it was intended to be played. Like silencio said, less pity, more burning at the stake.
Thank you devs. I often disagree with you, but thanks for taking care of these cheaters and thanks for the explanations and justifications.
Kaw Admin, please explain the exact mechanics of how a player who was 10m combined stats before you guys made a mistake in your coding is now 60k,60k,40k,40k? I fully support you guys taking back the gold, and any buildings that were upgraded due to the exploiting or pots, bronze, inferno, that were bought, but seriously, every single building, from players who grinded for years to get them? Sure they did wrong, but you guys made the first mistake. The KaWcaine was too strong and they succumbed, but have a heart and think what you would have done in their shoes.
@Margz If you're referring to me, you're wrong, it's falsely accusing, you got caught cheating, so I don't think it's falsely accusing.
