farming. past, present and future

  1. Farming a pure spy.

    - not the best idea if your mainly an attack build. A pure spy is usually an experienced farmer out to cause trouble. Your ideal pure spy won't have sdp, allies (obviously) so they never have anything to loose. The reason a pure spy will not need allies because there is simply no point. No attack buildings = no plunder, steals are based on spy stats alone.

    - if you insist on farming a pure spy (usually a butt hurt player) stocking on spy attack pots is usually the best idea. From my experience there is nothing a pure spy likes more then burning your gold away.

    - don't ever think a pure spy is capable of a strip. After all those steals alls it has been doing is storing attack pots to be dropped at a later date to bleed your arse dry.

    - pinning a pure spy can be notoriously hard. Spy's bigger then yours will burn your spy's alot quicker and less of the pure build.

-once a pure spy has gold out a attack build will be able hit away, When my account was attack build I just simply watched my news for the spy stealing and hammered the pure spy.

    - try and buy spy attck pots if your the pure spy doing the stealing as soon as possible. Being open is something (as a pure spy) that I'd find embarrassing.

    - keep your wits about you when you choose a fight with a pure spy. We are meddlesome and never give up.

    - in the past, dropping pots and opening up for other players to make quick gold was known as a OSF. Open secret farm. Some clans had these and they really were "secrets" as the plunder wars grew and grew players named them open spy farm/open attack farm. Spy bombing a plunder war was always good fun and lots of trouble followed.

    Farming a hansel.

    - the same rules as farming a pure spy would normally apply. Apart from a hansel build has troops. Hansel builds can be great little money makers for attack builds. But they may have bigger spy's then you so if you don't like repercussions then watch your step.

    - unlike pure spy's hansels need allies to make their build succesful. So they are well worth a strip and extremely pissy when they wake up and have lost 70bil in 10hours. (<--- speaks from experience)

    - remember, a hansel build is easy to farm and they are/was in the pwar era a money making machine. Old habits die hard with some players so there is plenty of them out there.

    Farming an attack build.

    - completely different then a spy/Hansel. Obviously an attack build has troops. And lots of. More attack then spy means the Attack build would be a good little money maker for spy's.

-When it's attack Vs attack a little trick (that also works on spy's) should be applied here. If your farming for fun/revenge/because you can - always wait for your enemy to empty on you. Stash your gold and xtal on their arse. Keep them pinned. For hours if you can. If they don't xtal you'll have then right where you want them.

    - Attack builds (in my eyes) only do alot of damage in a strip. It's why if your going to have a alt, to have one spy, one attack. You loose alot more gold when hit then you do when stole from.

The epic battle version of a hansel

    The hybrid -

    - Hybrid. This is the build that i have called "noob-stay-safe-stats" for a while. Basically it's a even-build. Same amount of attack stats/spy stats.

    - farming one is always super fun. Burn away its sdp as fast as you possibly can, because you can bet that this little epic battle hoe is replenishing them as your burning them.

    - they will always remind you that they (with their superior build) are making money on epic battles to replenish the pots. Alls you gotta think is - your stunting their growth. So why would you care?

    - Hybrids are (yes effectively no matter how much I don't want to admit it) yesterday's hansels. They are effective in EBs but suck major for farming with. Not at all your everyday farming build. If this is the build of your choice then clearly you have made this to make gold and plenty of. So take my advice and try not to cause trouble 

    A HLBC build

    - HLBC players took a very long time to get where they are. Be that trying out new builds or just going with the simple attack build. When farming one realise that these are either hardcore kaw players (and respect that) or...the nob abusers and pwar gens. Weasling that out of them would be hard work.

    - most HLBC players I see have the basic attack build. The ones (before my reset) that I disliked in every way, was the ones with a massive spy def. slippery prats. But still. Burned more pots then anything. ^.^

    - if it's the case of HLBC Vs HLBC. Strip them. Even if all sdp are not gone. If your loosing more then winning you can gaurentee it'll be their massive allie bonus that will be helping them. (my way of thinking)

    Physcological warefare

    - if like me you have reset in the past and you would rather spend your days farming then epic battling, physcological warefare is a major advantage. A few chosen (delicate) words on your enemy's wall can bring them to their knees. I like to say my build is effective in two ways -

    1. I'm highly over looked

    2. I have a massive chip on my shoulder about it and therefore more likely to rip your moral apart and bruise your ego.

    - do not bypass on walls when you are doing your thing. Be confident in your trash talking. Do not "troll" but burn, rip apart and stamp out their light.

    - you do not care how many times you get hit. You relish the challenge and laugh at their failed attempts to look like badboys (fapfapfapfapfap).

    - if like me you are blocked by 100s of players, take control on your on wall. Its your ball game then.

    - be origanal. And don't I repeat DON'T do the yo'momma come backs. It's pathetic.

Making this thread was made as a reply to the crappy farming threads I have recently seen/not seen. This is my veiw on farming.

Remember kaw is what you and you alone make of it. Farm how you like. Strip how you like. Do what you like. Just enjoy it and don't kill your self over it.

    Happy farming 

  2. Nice thread. :)
    And first.

  3. I approve of this thread :)

  4. I'm a technical hybrid build and it's great for farming. It's even good for taking on your farms help when they call it in.

However, I do agree that a balanced hybrid build or spy heavy hybrid are some of the worst builds for farming or war

  5. Nice thread

  6. Actually a hybrid build doesn't make more gold on Ebs  but it is good for system turtle wars  especially when hansels think it's ok to have full troops and no gold out 

  7. Just to clear this up -

A hybrid build with 900k attack/def and (let's say) 850k/900k spys will make more gold

The theory is to have a balance. More strength on epic battles for attack/assassinate. Much more effective on epic battles such as the haunting. Less likely to fail hits = more plunder = more gold.

Think about it, you'll get there in the end

  8. Hybrids can be extremely effective with a massive bfa - see redstars short stint as a 2m 2m 1.5m 2m.

  9. A hl build with all t3 can be dangerous with a massive bfa also. That still doesn't make it a great build.

  10. Each to their own though:) you play the build that suits you

  11. Hansels are great for farming and better than pure spies, even without allies. Keep a lowland land free, then put a lv1 stable up for 25000, steal away, bank and drop the stable n bank the 5000 you get back.

Stops you getting hit whilst stealing.

  12. I like this thread. Repetitive use of the word farming  great use of butt hurt  did I mention the farming? Def need more of that 

    Farming .

  13. Just a tip on the hansels if you know what your doing as one you can be very powerful

  14. My hansel always has 5 bil out to drop imediatly on att and def pots

  15. And if the hansel is good you can pinn someone up to twice you size possibly more

  16. I really like this thread too although I think OP is an asshat  99% is extremely legit however, I think hybrid is the true war build. I attack spies and steal attacks and constantly win in OSW, maybe it's my items or pots or I'm just boss but thank you for the thread hun 

  17. Great analysis, from an experienced view point. My main and group of alts would agree on most your points.
I'll have to re-read your long winded essay again.
I've given each build a nickname over the years. My first op was lost when my iPhone was stole so I did not play for a long time but my limited knowledge I was building a " hammer build" 48 Cursed. Not to far along when I vanished as the T4 was brand new I only had 2 at L3.
Then came the Pizza Boy 48 Coe.
The Super Duper Spy 48 SoS.
    The Bull Dog 48 Titans.
The Strip Bank 0/0/0/0 stats many an owner of an old osf/oaf clan feeding off the hard work of others and a swollen wrist from dropping mist.
When you analyze the hybrid math no matter what combination no build is bullet proof. The Hammer and Super Duper Spy the easiest to defeat given time. The paranoid hybrid destroys their hitting power buy building so many LO they reduce the hitting power and with the new pots a HLBC spy walks right through a wall of LO.
Observing an osw, from a safe distance(lol), I watched a build convert to 20 LO effectively destroying any real hitting power.
I believe the real strength comes from a clans diversity, loyalty, and leadership.
Personally I don't like playing chess with someone with less skill than me. You learn more from loosing to superior experience. An observation I noted you admitted to. Most memorable, as rivals of No Rulez I got spanked and pinned real good. Then as allies to True Spartans in osw we followed direction with quick precise victory. Amazing clans both of them.
    Fun read, Thank you.
