Estoc War Divisions

  1. It seems like I've been reading a lot lately about the estoc wars being a fail because not enough clans are signing up.

    Seems to me that making two divisions for matchups would help get more clans warring.

    Division #1 - clans with prestige >= 1000
    Division #2 - clans with prestige < 1000

    New clans will get thrashed in their first war, but should get an easier matchup in their second war. Any support out there?

  2. It would be better if minimum member size for ee is 5

  3. But good idea

  4. I've been saying prestige should factor into matchup for a long time, but it would either have absolutely no meaningful bearing on the matchup or force a ton of no-match situations. There just aren't enough clans warring.

  5. What would stop a winning clan from creating new clans to war in each week and face easier matches? To easy to get around your intent IMO

  6. @g

    You're not too bright are you? What's to stop a clan from creating another clan now to try and get an easier matchup? There's no guarantee now or in a scenario with divisions that they would actually get matched up with their desired clan.

    Completely irrelevant, but thanks for trying.

  7. It's not a bad proposal. A simple way to prevent new clans from being formed is to tie rancour levels to the home clan like estoc levels. It will be unpopular and I'm not saying that we should do it but it will certainly solve the problem.

    I recall some one making a similar proposal a while back but with 3 divisions. That proposal was met with much cynicism because people argued that what's to stop the top clan from opting to fight in a lower division. Ranking by prestige as advocated by OP would solve it. Furthermore, the matchup system could be tweaked such that at the lowest division, the matchup algorithm is tightest (but gets progressively looser at higher divisions). Also, Mith rewards increases with higher divisions.

    The EE system is only going to improve through our collective wisdom so I applaud anyone who's helping to make it better 
