Estoc Trials - Week #3 War #5 - General Update

Discussion in 'Past Events' started by admin, Apr 18, 2013.

  1. Signups: 41
    No Match: 5

-RCA- - There were no clans of suitable size around you. Your closest match had 32 members.

Kreuzritter - Your numbers look OK but you ended up as the odd man out in your range.

We're Screwed - Your BFA was at least 4X higher than all clans in your range.

Sons_Of_Thunder - For that build strength, you had too many members (30). All other clans around you had 25 at most.

altropolis - You were the weakest clan to sign up and there were no suitable matches. I suggest signing up some stronger members next time. You need to double up your build strength and quadruple your BFA and you should get more chances at a match.

As per usual, we will be monitoring clan BFA numbers and we will address any suspicious activity throughout the coming war. Please keep BFA changes post-sign up to a reasonable minimum! Anything beyond that and you will be warned and risk losing rewards and/or match-ups!

  2. Love these updates, really helpful.

  3. Wars I have no luck in them :(

  4. Wars are hardly luck....

  5. Would it be possible to get a breakdown of the legionaries asylum and pillars of chaos war? thanks :)

  6. Any chance of breakdown on empire v warlor match up please kaw_admin

  7. Bfa is not being watched enough killing matchups suggestion ko times between 8 and 18 minutes random will let porely matched clans a chance to come out of pin

  8. Thanks for your feedback devs 

  9. @Empire

Any breakdown from Devs will show it is within their parameters for a "fair" match. Problem is one of definition - to most of us a "fair" match would mean either side would have approximately a 50% chance of winning if they fought equally well. In KAW terms, "fair" means simply that: the number warring and aggregate stats are approximately the same and bfa is within a large tolerance (300%).

Currently when Devs create match-ups they greatly over-value troop strength (alternatively undervalue towers and bfa), they fail to account for the plunder impact of guilds, and ignore bfe completely. While at lower levels it may be possible to have interesting wars with high differences in bfa, I can't hit someone with 300% my BFA, so while that constitutes a "fair" matchup, it would be practically impossible for me to win.

So clans with lots of bfa and bfe almost always win - because they win they are getting stronger through even better equipment. Furthermore, some high bfa/bfe clans are even careful who they match with and not to try to match up with one another. There is really nothing that can be done about that; I suggest you simply accept it as part of KAW and try to have fun with it best you can.

  10. MadDog I cant agree with you more....

  11. Thanks MADDog. Second question, when there is a number difference of three meaning your out numbered by three and have less bfa how is that calculated? You can overcome being out numbered 1-2 but 3-4 becomes much more difficult. Then add the 6 extra xtals the clan with three more people have. I think it's more the number differential. However; in the end your correct sometime the match-up falls better in your favor than others. When it doesn't you just have to try your best and enjoy the game; like you said?

  12. @ Empire

Clans with lower numbers can win, even lower numbers and slightly lower bfa and bfe, but it is very difficult.

In the case that you know you have an impossible match-up, a view I have (one that is not universally shared): redefine your objective so that you can "win." Just as Kaw can define "fair" somewhat differently than you or I, why does "winning" have to mean ending up with more plunder than you opponent (especially if that is not possible)? Maybe if you face an impossible match-up try to minimize your opponents mith or plunder, keep 2 or 3 of their guys pinned and annoyed the entire war, count SKOs ... anything that is fun; it is after all a game. You guys have a good clan, try to make sure each and every war is fun - however you can best do that.

  13. Good advise MADDog. Thanks

  14. I do think many of the matchup problems could be solved if more clans were involved each war. The best idea I have heard for this is giving some rewards to the losers; that seems generally supported but there are some dissenters.

On a separate note, who wins between WarLor and RCA? That's a matchup I would love to see, but for some reason Dev's havent made it happen yet. Or better still, who wins between Zaft, WarLor and RCA?

  15. @ coffee. They have warred so many times lmao. Check war history.

  16. tick tock tick tock
the clock is ticking down

  17. Sotra number 1 

  18. These morning wars don't work without some Americans for making up the numbers!!

  19. War against ppl on top ally LB with unbeatable BFA is hard, but you could win ... you just need to find enemy clan weakness .... one hitter can't win war for clan, its just one part of war...

  20. Hey devs... would be even more helpfull if would be possible to post a similar picture of all clans that partisipate to wars so all could see the "comman" builds / strengths of opponents. or would that be too revealing? would be nice to see where every clan is standing. Kinda easier to figure out what to do to get to wars and what needs to be done for a matchup.
