I just wanted to throw this out there... At this point the rewards fill all of the slots of the season 1 items. Why not rotate this next seasons items with the ones received from season 2. That way the exact same items don't stack for participating players in a single season. TL;DR VERSION: Instead of giving the same 6 slots from the season 1 wars, give 3 from season 1 and 3 from season 2.
