Welcome to Pugs's Epic Battle Build Guide This guide will share with you the best way to build based on getting the maximum amount of gold per unload during Epic Battles. There has been some controversy over what the best builds are for Epic Battles. Some people say attack, because, well, it's attack. Others say defensive for the 5% plunder bonus. However, I hardly every see anyone say balanced. Everyone loves the attack build and it is the build of choice for many. People say it is the best build for EB's because it gives the highest attack stats. The reasoning behind it: higher stats, higher plunder. This seems to be a popular belief, and don't get me wrong, attack builds are awesome, but it is not the build that will make you the most money. The defensive build us a little less popular among players. However, when asked about EB builds, it is often suggested due to its 5% plunder bonus. But the truth is, that bonus is futile. It is a bonus to plunder, not allies bonus. The main part of your total plunder comes from the allies bonus. The actual plunder is only a fraction of the allies bonus. Therefore, this bonus is pretty much useless. It makes you barely anymore gold than you are making already. Also, if someone attacks you, you probably will not be able to attack back due to the lack of attack stats that you possess. So in my advice, stay away from defensive builds. The real money maker is actually, yes, balanced builds. It might not seem like it, but balanced builds do give you the maximum amount of gold per unload. The thing about balanced buildings is: they actually give you more troops, allowing you to hit the EB more times before you run out of troops. Normally this allows you to hit it about twice more, making it much more useful than a 5% bonus to plunder. So for the most part, I would suggest a balanced build with some guilds thrown in there for some extra plunder and a bonus at the end. This build will make the most gold in an Epic Battle because you can hit the EB more, making you much more gold. This is the best build to ensure that you make the most money per unload on an Epic Battle. Just make sure that you are at max plunder. Please do not call me an "EB Fairy" or anything like that. I am just trying to help out the players who might be new or just like Epic Battles instead of wars. Thanks for reading and leave any feedback or reasons why you thought I went wrong. If you have any better suggestions please post them and I will be sure to look at them and revise the thread if necessary. I hope this helped! ~Pugs
Once you have 1 balanced building in there, the rest are purely for stats, not the extra hits. In that case, it is actually more beneficial to mix a few defensive ones in there for that extra plunder.
You're wrong thinking attack is more popular than balanced... It seems to me most people favour balance on forums. Also, you only need one balanced building for the extra 2 attacks, so best plunder is from 1 balanced building and the rest defensive, assuming you can hit the EB. And throwing in guilds isn't as good as SoSs or Vols. Guilds have a high plunder to stat ratio but still make less by the end then the other spy buildings.
I agree with the SoS making more at the end, but have you thought about the cost of it? It costs more that 27 bil to upgrade fully, while a guild only costs about 1 bil.
And my personal build is 2 attack buildings to every balanced building, therefore keeping my stats mainly attack, but at the same time, trying to keep them kind of balanced, in case I ever want to war or do anything else like that.
My bad, still, a lot for new players. After all, this really was supposed to be more of a starter guide.
Why not 1 Balanced and 1 defensive building and the rest are guilds? There's your money maker build right there.
It takes an extra 5 mins for those 2 extra hits to regen so if you unload regularly on the hour you will be at 90 something percent troops and 100% spies depending on how many balanced building you have. Each type of building is on par with the others depending on play style.
@the knight Defensive buildings give bonus to troop plunder not ally plunder. Hansels have low troop plunder but high ally plunder. The 5% bonus from the defensive building would be hardly anything.
Well said Owen. The 5% bonus is to normal plunder, not ally plunder, the moneymaker. This 5% would hardly do anything, as I explained in the post.
That 5% can actually be a very large factor. You act like its basically irrelevant, which is only true for hansels. A 1 colony, 24 TG, 23 TL, 1 sos build would get over 1-2m per hit from that bonus
I think this is the first time I have seen someone arguing that attack builds are best for plunder in epic battles. Remember this, pay attention to the plunder curve when unloading. Don't know what that means? Compare your first hit with your last one and plunder drops as you hit. If you are attack build and want to maximize plunder then you skim soldiers to stay closer to the top of the plunder curve. With hansels the plunder curve is not as drastic. Hansels make roughly the same gold on each attack and then the end payout makes hansels the best money making builds on an epic battle. Overall you should re-think your build strategy and this forum.
How much do you get per unload on a haunt(I measure it by doing one unload and using the total plunder at end) I get 1.75b (or very close) I'm an 8 building Hansel (don't argue about that, it's Hansel dynamics I'm using) 4coe 4cf, first hit is 30.1m last 28.9
