Downfall of Darkness Chapter 1 I am Yana Feynan, age twenty three. I work and live for The Great Empire in the land of Glistera. Our lands are now in shambles after years of war. Flames were everyday scenery. Castles on fire, forests on fire... Innocent people... thrown into flames. Red and orange swirls of heat and light. Chaos ravaged across Glistera. I cannot keep sifting through past memories. Glorious ones, or ones that sent me falling to the floor with salty tears, running down my cheeks. The war has come to an end. A truce between The Resistance and The Great Empire. But nothing has changed. Everyone is heartbroken from the loss of loved ones and the loss of their once-beautiful homeland of majestic waterfalls and rolling hills of the gentle, green grass. I hear that Master Clarence has planned to commence a surprise attack on the Refuge Camp. In fact, this reminds me. I have a meeting with Master in the Great Forest in a while. Administrators Soba, John, and Soma were also told meet Master Clarence in the forest. Soba Is fourth in command. John in third, and Soma in second. I wonder what Master has planned for me...
Chapter 2 ~ As I walk through the Great Forrest, I can't keep my mind off of why Master called me with the Administrators here. Actually, I can. My mind starts to travel off into the beautiful leaves and light-pink and blue flowers, falling off of the great towering, green trees. The gentle gales and the small blades of grass that are like delicate dancers in the wind. ..."You can't do this!", I raise my voice at Master Clarence. Soma, Soba, and John stand behind him, in complete silence. "We just made a peace treaty. This attack plan violates it!" "Now, when did you hear that, my little flower?" Clarence questions. His black robes flap around the figure of his legs and torso and he folds his arms. "I don't remember mentioning this 'violation' to you. Your eavesdropping violates my spirit and attitude." I can't really answer to this because it seems serious and at the same time, humorous. But I think I manage to find a way. "Just listen for a second, Clarence," I say, raising my voice, once again. "Innocent lives, our once-cherished land, our people's hope.. It's all destroyed! Do you wish to set the dark shadow upon everyone, again?!" Clarence can't help but smirk at this statement, but I wonder why. "Don't you see?" He says, calmly. " Our Great Empire IS the big shadow! You followed my orders. Like a pawn in a little game of Chess. Do you still wish to follow me and the voice of power, my darlin'?" I clench my fist as my temper grows higher. How can Clarence do this? I worked for him. I devoted my life to working for him. I was such a fool... All I was doing was... I cannot let this happen. "You Bastard!" Just as those very words blurted out of my mouth, I felt my fist fly out and jab Clarence in his stomach area. As he fell to the ground, I could tell that I must've hit him hard. Clarence glared at his Administrators, and they knew exactly what to do. In an instant, I felt myself, lying on the hard dirt. Bleeding lips and those salty tears running down my cheeks. What I remembered was that Soma tied my hands behind my back. Soba kicked me in the stomach area. John held me in the back of a chariot. Clarence rode the chariot away to his prison. "Worthless piece of crap." Clarence says. "You would've done good for the Empire."
Chapter 3 Now, here I am. In the corner of a rusty, old jail cell. Bleeding and broken. Tears of pain gently roll down my face and drop off of my chin. The little drop of salty water falls to the dusty, bug covered floor where a prisoner once lived and passed. His or her bones are shoved against the corner, diagonal to the one where I am. Disgusting. Through the middle of the night, I can't get a good night's rest for two things. One, they put no bed or mattress to sleep on. Just the cold hard floor. And second, I can't get these whispering voices out of my head. Are they really in my head? Or is this whispering actually from a real human being. I can partially make out what they or it is saying... "Crystal, why are we here again?" Some person, most likely a male, whispers loudly. "I don't like walking so much. It's like a maze." "Quiet, Azoth," A female voice replies. Possibly the person named Crystal. "We don't want to get caught. Don't raise your voice. Plus, I thought you claimed you had the most stamina and the ability to stay quiet for a long time." "No, I didn't " The same male voice says. Maybe Azoth. "I said I'll go and I'll be quiet and I won't grumble." Crystal's probably regretting that she took this Azoth person on the trip here. But why would they be here? Nobody ever tries to break someone out of here. It's too dangerous and very heavily guarded. I start to wonder how they got in.
Chapter 4 =D Even more things to add to my list of why I can't sleep. The smell of fresh urine and horrible body owner. Yet, I can smell a hint of magnolias. Or is it apples? My head is messed up. The urine smell makes me dizzy. But I do hear something else other than the chit-chat of those Azoth and Crystal people. Clang, Clang, Clang. What is this noise? Why don't those guards hear it? They must be retards. Or something's up with them. Slink, slink... Now I can hear something more. Sounds of guttural coughs and hacks fill the cells. I peer out of the jail cell door. Assassins? No, it can't be assassins. Can it really be those two? Crystal and Azoth. They are the ones who I see killing. Skillfully. With swords.... Swords? They look too thin. But really sleek, sharp, and shiny. Crystal. She has light blond hair with blue eyes. She looks like she could be from the place where I grew up, Gylah. I knew a Crystal. But she ran away years ago. Azoth. He has dark brown hair and green eyes. But they don't explain the clanging. I ponder about this for a while, as I watch one of the guard's neck spill out hot, red blood. Clang...Clang...Clang... It sounds like it's getting closer and closer. Just then, A huge hunk of metal falls on top of the dried bones of the past prisoner. Out pops a head, upside down. This person's legs must be strong, because his arms are hanging down too. He has messy brown hair and green eyes. Like Azoth. He waves. "Hello, maste-" He stops his words. "Wrong one again. Hey... You look like a pretty lady. Except for...-" He makes a frame with his hands around the raggedy clothes that Clarence left me with. "-that situation. I'll unlock you. You're the one person I've come across that doesn't look like a mutated human."
Chapter 5 His head and arms are still hanging upside down. In a short moment, he pulls his head and torso area back up to where he came from, and grabs the edge of the hole he left with his hands. He releases his finger's grip and lands on his feet. "Sorry for not formally introducing myself." The man says. "My name is Flare. I am part of the Resistance Group. I am also their highest ranked assassin and spy. They send me as a messenger or a scout to receive info." "Hello," I say, confused and dizzy. "I'm.. Uh... Y-Yana. Yana Feynan. I think I....uh...-" He cuts me off and says, "Okay, me and my leaders can take you back to Gylah. Our headquarters is over there." I can hardly make out what he actually says. All I know is that he just said something about Gylah. The place where I grew up until 5 years ago. I made a stupid decision, leaving to The Great Empire. I left my friends...my family...my boyfriend... I left all of them behind for a damn job as a pawn. "Okay, Yana, was it?" Flare starts off. "Crystal and Azoth, my leaders, are assassinating the guards, even though I'm supposed to be assassinating. Crystal told me to find our old master, Master Aki. Let me break you out of this filthy cell. It smells like piss in here." My vision is getting blurry. I guess I'm just more sensitive than all of these people. But what I see is Flare flipping out a circular figure and rubbing it along the sides of the cell doors. The whole place, from my point of view, is spinning in circles. It stops every once in a while. But starts again and again and again. It looks like Flare kicks down the door. He signals me with his hands to stand up and run. "Oh gosh," Flare looks straight into my eyes. His nose almost touching mine. "You do not look very well... Let me carry ya." My right leg twitches. Flare kneels down, picks me up by my back, and puts me over his left shoulder. Next thing I know, everything went black.
-C-H-A-P-T-E-R-6- Like a bed of roses....Like I'm sleeping on a cloud... It feels soft and luxurious. Like linen or cotton. I feel more... Someone's with me, holding my hand. Who could this be? My eyes slowly open. A man... Around my age. Or, that's what he looks like. He also has messy, very light blond, almost white hair and ashy, black hair mixed in. He has dark brown eyes. It could be him... "Hello, my princess," He says in a light tone. "Remember me? It's Yuza! I remember you. I missed you all this time. I didn't think you'd come back, but here you are, as beautiful as ever!" I tilt my head in his direction. His dark brown eyes, shining. My memories of he and I. All blasting through my head. And the last time we saw each other. He had tears in his eyes that day. Today, he looks like he has the same look. But...elated. I say nothing at all. I guess I am too tired to really say much. I don't know why "It's okay, hun," He whispers. "If you're wondering where we are, this is the Refuge And Resistance Headquarters in Gylah. You're back home...this is the resting place for the leaders. There are 5 Resistance Leaders. Soon to be seven. That is why there is seven beds. Actually, I'll explain all of it after you rest and wake up. You need more rest..." My eyes slowly close. I'm back home in Gylah... With my old friends, my family's grave and everyone who I remember. But seven leaders of the Refuge and Resistance? Who could the next two be? Maybe I'm just crazy. Okay. Just fall asleep and don't think about anything...
CHaPTeR SeVeN I rise from my bed and take a big sniff of the cool, morning air. Ah, pine. I guess I really am home. Well, most of the people I know are gone. There is hardly anyone who I care about today. "Hiya, sleepy-head!" This sounds like a familiar, cheery voice. It brings back many of my childhood memories... "Do you remember me, also?" I look towards this person. Light blond hair, sparkly blue eyes... Crystal? It really was her at the jail. "Crystal?" I ask the nice woman. "Correct!" She says. Still cheerful. "It's been such a long time! I didn't think I would find yo-" "Uhp-up-up!" Flare happens to be there, interrupting. "I found her. Not you." "It doesn't matter, Flare." Crystal says. "All that matters is that you, and Master Blaine are safe." "Master Blaine?" I say, brushing my hair with my fingers. "Who's that?" "I can explain that." Yuza also happens to be there. "Master Blaine has been mentoring us since you disappeared. He taught us many things, especially arts of war. He led us to creating our Resistance Group. The Resistance is a group filled with many people, who wish to end Clarence's wrongdoing and stupidity. The current leaders of this group are Crystal Toxy, Ugham Wraith, Azoth Wraith, Daniel Carberyius, and Faemin Wade. Upcoming leaders are you and I." "Me?" I question. "Why me? I just got here." Yuza laughs. "Yeah. 3 days ago. I guess you wouldn't remember. We came back from the prison with you and Blaine. We all had a meeting on me becoming a leader. Then, I suggested that you could become one too. We all approved. You drank something, and a couple hours later, you planted your face on the table." All of the Resistance Leaders are there. Well, I actually remember all of them from my childhood. "Oh! Hi everyone! I missed you all! But... I have a question. Who's that?" I say, pointing to someone, sitting in the shadow of the corner. She looks pretty, but a bit 'twitchy', and looks loony. She looks at me. Her long, flowing hair blows across her face from gales that come from outside. She stands up walks and walks to my bed, slowly and cautiously. She looks into my eyes, then runs straight out the door. "Come on," Crystal and Fermani say, simultaneously. Fermani smiles at Crystal. "Fermani and I will get you dressed up in something pretty, but not too fancy like a catillion." Crystal says alone.
C.H.A.P.T.E.R. E.I.G.H.T. Crystal and Fermani lead me into a room filled with designs on flax paper pinned against the walls. Fermani takes one piece of art off of the wall after staring at it for a couple minutes. She shows Crystal, and she nods with approval. The two, then walk over to me and show the design. This piece of art depicts a woman with long hair with a black top with slightly ripped tips. The top wraps around her waist, and flows by her hips. Small, red designs are around the edges. The right sleeve is loose, and stops right after the elbow. The left sleeve is also loose, but stops at the wrists. She is also wearing tight, black bottoms with dark leather boots. She looks beautiful, but deadly. How could this be me? "Why couldn't you have made a male version of that for me?." Flare appears at the door. So do the others. "Definitely that design." Ugham and Azoth say in unison. Yuza laughs. Argena just smiles. Daniel looks like he's bored. I keep admiring the design on the small flax paper, when some sort of metal rod appears from the ceiling. Crystal picks up a bow, , stands under the metal rod, and shoots an arrow up the rod. Crystal then, backs away. A bright red color fills the room. A voice sounds through the room. SS: 457, Code 1109. Lance. Soba. Cave Elix. "Lance?" I ask Yuza. "Isn't that your younger brother?" "Yes." Yuza says, sternly. "But he's been captured by Commander Soba of the Empire, and hidden in Elix Cave." "He's also my fiancée..." Argena says under her breath. "Oh dear!" Yuza laughs. "Argena, I hardly noticed you here. Yana, Argena is also part of the Resistance Leaders." "What was with all the beeping stuff?" I ask. "This seems a bit new." Master Blaine comes in. "My invention. With a little help from these six people." "Six?!" Flare exclaims. "I helped too!" "Yeah," Blaine says. "You carried a metal screw, sat there, then burped, then left. Never mind this nonsense. Lance is in trouble. He is also an important part of the Resistance, but not a Commander. Hurry. Get ready." Everyone only walks to their rooms. "I said hurry!" Blaine says. Flare slams his door.
-9th Chapter- I look at myself in the mirror and move my waist side to side a little. Every little detail in this is correct. The tightness in the stomach area, the sleeves, bottoms, shoes, and the flowing from the hips and down. Even the small, red designs by the edges with the ripped tips. I then turn around and state at my my bed. My broadsword has been sharpened, and it's ruby details have been shined. I pick it up, and put it in the shear that is also by my waist. As a back up weapon, I bring up a few throwing knives, and tuck them behind the sword. The sound of Blaine's words that sound through my head that send me running out the door. Hurry. Everyone else is outside. Fermani, Crystal, Yuza, Argena, Azoth, Ugham, and Flare. Everyone's hair is flowing in the wind, covering up half of their faces. Argena looks strong, with a dark, wooden bow in her hands with a sheath of arrows. She's wearing a navy blue jumpsuit, similar to my outfit. But the only difference is that the stomach area isn't tight. Crystal has a small, metallic blue headpiece. Also, a top which covers her breasts and stops at her stomach. She is also wearing another top over it that covers her arms and wrist. Her bottoms are a dark brown color, whose tips are ripped up and end at the shins. Crystal has slightly small, metallic armor over her thighs. She has brown leather boots, like mine. She uses a longbow as a weapon. Azoth and Ugham are wearing the same thing. Dark grey hoods, both pulled back, with at least 3 layers of fashionable, dark grey and black ripped up clothing. Even their Bottoms. But Ugham uses a sleek sword with a crossbow, and Azoth uses a scimitar. Flare is wearing something similar to Azoth and Ugham, but is colored as red as blood. Flare uses a long, silver blade. Yuza wears a whole bunch of black leather belts and buckles across his chest over a black V-Necked top whose sleeves only cover the right arm down to the wrist. His bottoms are black pants that are ripped below the ankles. His feet are covered by black leather boots. On his waist, he has a sheath that carries a long, shiny sword like Flare's. Blaine walks up to us and says, "Head north, and watch for poisonous darts. Soba is known for using a blowgun." We all head to the South Gate, because that is the only pathway towards Elix Cave. Elix Cave is home to many savages with rusted melee weapons. Mostly include spiked maces and axes. Soba is also known for giving harsh torture to his victims. Four of which have died as a result of it. "Whatever you do, don't get separated from the group." Crystal tells us. "Let's go." As she finishes the sentence, I think Blaine yells out something along the lines of wishing us luck. But I can't really tell because it's my first day here, and I'm already on an important task. Or, as I've been told, it's my forth day here. We all wave at Blaine as we exit the south gate, not looking back. Is this really happening?
10- We all walk out in a big team as we're leaving the village. I'm in the back. Crystal leads us. The trees are like towering green giants. In the wind, I can hear short whistles and rustling leaves from above. We just travel until we come to a split in the small gravel path. Crystal tells us that this is the only necessary time to split, and she takes Azoth, Argena, and Flare on the left. Yuza takes Ugham, Fermani and I on the right. "Wait," I tell Yuza. "What happened to Daniel?" After I say that, all there is is the rustling of leaves in the trees. "He stayed home." Yuza finally replies. "His metal attachments that kept his clothing together all somehow cracked. He went to the Metalsmith. Totally forgot about this." After traveling a couple hundred yards, there is another split in the road. One of which Crystal, Argena, Azoth, and Flare appear out of. Their clothes look worn out, scratched, and tattered. Flare sees us, and slaps his forehead. "We just HAD to be in the rose patches." Flare says. "Very thorny roses.... But at least I got something out of it." "What's that?" Fermani asks. "I don't see the point of getting something out of being stabbed by roses." "Ummm..." Flare says, hesitantly. "Well, you'll all find out after this mission. Let's keep moving." "Okay, then" Fermani says. "Whatever floats your boat." We travel east for at least 1 hour in a rainforest. There are snakes everywhere. Crystal identified all of them as not poisonous. At some point, we had to pry a snake off of Ugham's left leg halfway through the trip. As we finally make it out of there, Ugham states out at the vast land of rocks and brush. "Not this path." Ugham says. "I think we have to take a detour." "Where?" Asks Crystal. "This is the only path to Elix Cave." "No this isn't." Ugham puts two fingers in his mouth and lets out a loud, four-noted whistle. "I've been raising this bird that has bright feathers, like flames. I went to check it yesterday, and it grew unbelievably large." "Just how large is the bird?" Crystal asks. "You plan for us to hitch a ride on that bird?" Ugham looks at Crystal with a grin. "You'll see." Suddenly, the winds pick up. But these winds aren't cool. They are hot and almost as hot as fire. A couple seconds later, the same four-noted song that Ugham whistled, we hear again. Only louder, and more threatening than soothing. Ugham is doing nothing, but standing backwards and looking up and grinning. "Hey guys!" Ugham yells at us. "Take a look!" We all turn around, and we see a gigantic bird, with majestic wings and bright red to orange feathers. Just like he explained. "HOLY CRAP!" Flare looks up and screams. "I'M NOT GETTING ON THAT THING!" "Speak softer..." Fermani laughs. "It's not gonna be that bad. Plus, you might get us caught." "WHAT?" Flare screams again. "I DON'T WEAR PLAID! BUT THANKS FOR YOUR SUGGESTION. PLUS, I DON'T THINK THIS IS THE TIME TO QUESTION MY FASHION AND AMAZINGLY HOT BODY!" Fermani slaps her own forehead like Flare did in the woods just around half an hour ago.
The Long Awaited Chapter Eleven Actually, it was around two hours ago, but let's leave that aside. The large bird lands next to Ugham. "IT LOOKS LIKE A TOMATO!" Flare yells. "AND WHY IS IT SO BIG?" "Shut up..." Fermani says, quietly. "The last thing we need is to lose another comrade through something incredibly retarded." "Just hop on." Ugham says. "It's not gonna hurt ya." In a small matter of time, Ugham manages to get everyone except Flare on the bird. Flare looks like he's apprehensive or sick about something else, too. "Come on, Flare!" Crystal says. "It's feathers are soft. And this is the only way we'll get to the cavern entrance without being in harm. Above. Sky." "No..." Flare says, under his breath. I can read his lips. "I don't think this is safe." Ugham looks like he's shocked as he moves his head in the direction of some bushes. "...Hurry...Hurry!" Ugham says, getting increasingly worried by the second. "Get on!" "No, I-" This is all that Flare gets to say before he looks like he's been jolted and stunned. He reaches to his upper back, and pulls out a dart. Flare gives the small, acid-smelling dart a glance. Dark red blood trickles out of his mouth, his eyes roll to the side, and he falls to the ground, unconscious. "Greetings." Someone emerges from the trees. His voice, raspy. "Might I introduce myself? My name is Zelorthin. And I-" A blood filled cough emerges from him. A woman is suddenly behind him. She has long blades under her wrists, trained into Zelorthin's back. She's familiar. Looks like the one that looked close to my face at the camp. "Shhhh...." The woman says, calmly and a bit crazily. "You'll be okay, angel. Just stay quiet and I'll mend ya." Now there are two men. On the ground. Dark blood emerges from Flare's neck. Zelorthin, face down in the dirt has three holes in the back of his dark, silk robe. Blood seeps from it. "Now," The woman starts. "This seems like déjà vu, but let me introduce myself. I am Faemin. And-" Faemin stops talking and looks up. Her eyes are moving rapidly from side to side. She falls to the ground on her knees and scrunches up her hair in her hands. "St- Step OFF!" Faemin screams out of the blue. "Get them away from me. AWAY!" She growls at the bushes, then disappears in a flash. Crystal sighs loudly and makes these weird motions with her hands. After that, she holds her hands out like she's holding an apple. A couple seconds, and a light blue orb with purple swirls floating around it appears above her hands.
Twelve- "Leave ME to do this..." Crystal says, annoyed. "The nerve of some people..." Crystal splits the ball in two and with more finger gestures, the split sphere travels over to Flare and Zelorthin. In about ten seconds or so, the two men slowly stand up, looking loopy. Flare sees Zelorthin standing right next to him. "What the hell?!" Flare exclaims. "What's your problem?" "Me?" Says Zelorthin. "Yes you, you dumb-hole." Says Flare. "Do you think I would have any grudges on my friends over there?" "No." Zelorthin replies calmly. "I sensed that someone there had some sort of dark aura in them. You see-" "I don't need a life story." Flare says. "We're doing an important task and I don't need anyone screwing it up." "I can help." Zelorthin says. "I think I'm a bit handy with poisonous weapons." "Hell yeah, you are..." Flare says grumpily. "Fine. Welcome aboard to the blah blah blah, get on the bird." "Stop being so critical." Crystal says. "He's willing to join us and help." "Well, yeah." Zelorthin says. "If you're gonna choose a side, you choose the side that's winning." "Okay, creepy-nut." Flare says. "Just get on the tomato. And by tomato, I mean bird." So Flare finally decides to hop on the bird and Zelorthin joins our cause. The more, the merrier. The large bird gives off a loud screech as it starts flapping it's large wings and takes off. "This is amazing." Fermani says. "It's as amazing as that new weapon you created, Yu-" "What weapon?" Yuza interrupts quickly, "There's no weapon." "Well, it's my time to get off. " Zelorthin says. "See you a little later." "Already?" I ask. "Yep." Zelorthin says back as he jumps off of the bird. This is a but strange. Then, I look down off of the bird, and I see Zelorthin with his robe, morphed into this triangular shape which makes him glide in the air. It's been about a few minutes before landing time, and we see Zelorthin leaning against the cave entrance. "Time to dance, you Empire cowards." Argena says, certainly not skittish. "Take back what's ours."
13 - Story Teller Zelorthin waves at us while the so called "tomato bird" lands. Everyone gets off except for Flare. Of course... Anyways, we turn around and see that Flare has fallen asleep, and got into a position in where his face was directly in front of his beloved tomato's backside. So Yuza decides to try shake him to try to wake him up. Yuza walks over to Flare and shakes him. Not much progress. Now, Flare's in sort of an explicit position. Apparently, Flare's head was pushed directly on to the large bird's butt. Next thing I know, his eyes open quickly, bloodshot. "Ugh!" Flare exclaims, getting away from the bird instantly. "Why didn't you wake me up before my beautiful head went into that deep, brown abyss?! I thought you guys were my team mates. We care for team mates, right? So-" "Yeah, yeah, quit your yapping," Fermani interrupts. "I'd love to listen to your peroration about your face touching a bird's backside, but we have someone to beat up." "Well, not really." Flare says to Fermani and everyone else. "What do you mean?" Crystal says. "Yuza's brother is held captive in there." Flare stared off into space for a little, looking like he's pondering about something. Then he pops back into reality. "Well, don't you remember the time where some guy named Flax was sent to the Empire as a spy?" Well, me being part of the Empire for a while, I know half of this story. But Flare keeps talking. "Flax taught them tactics that would seemingly help them in battle. But Flax was much smarter than that. He created a sort of footing that made no noise or tracks. He could sneak without being caught. Anyways, Flax studied how the Empire's leaders fought and trained. So, being the smart person he was, Flax contacted us through a pigeon, which he trained to carry messages. But the message would be on rolled up hemp paper around the pigeon's ankle." "So what?" Zelorthin interrupts. "Flax and I devised this plan in where he would escape. The plan was a great success. Let's just say Flax was crafty with twigs and feathers. Believe it or not, that large tomato bird is Flax. Long story short, we know the Empire's tactics and stay away from warlocks." "Oh, Flax... I remember." Crystal says. "We throw a torch in the cave, then wait for an idiot to show up." "Exactly." Flare says, suddenly throwing a large metallic torch like it was a javelin. Amazingly, this worked. I never know how stupid Soma and Soba were. And they ended up at the edges of the cave, leaning on the entrance walls. "Your tricks are useless." Soba says. "Then why'd you two come out?" Flare says "...No reason. You're powerless against us." Soba says "Yeah!" Says Soma. "Cuz' we're homosexuals!" "Exactly!" Soba says. "Wait... What?! We are not gay." "But don't we kidnap people?" "That makes us evil! Not gay." "Hey gay guys, I don't care." Fermani says. Flare pulls over a cloaking device in his robe and sneaks up behind Soba in the cave. Soba gets freaked out and sees him. "Hey! How did you get in here?" Soba says. "Better question." Flare says. "How did here get in me?" "I think Soba would like to know more about getting in you too." Soma says. "Shut up already!" Soba says.
14-1: Too Late "It's those things that you say, makes others question our relationship!" Soba says. And in the midst of this, all of us are just staring at them like they're retards. It's pretty stupid. Soma says, "We have a relationship?" "You're doing it again!!" "You what I like to do again?" Soma starts. "And again, and again, and again, and again?" "Haven't I told you to shut up?" A couple of us that were paying attention to anything suddenly became surprised as Clarence walked out of the cave. He tried to flip his cape nonchalantly. But fails in doing so because of the high winds blowing it back into it's position. "Honestly," Clarence says, annoyed. "I think I just keep you two around for the entertainment." "What's it to you, hot shot?" Ugham says. "You tiny-brained, butt-scrubbing, pansy skipping, sh-" "I think that's enough, Ugham." Azoth says. "Eh.." Clarence starts off. "No reason. Came to check on these two dingbats. I have no true business here." Again, he walks off. Trying to flick his cape away. And in just a few minutes, he's gone. "Wait, something just occurred to me..." Flare says. "Our master's name isn't Aki, it's Blaine!" "Hurr Durr, you didn't figure that out yet?" Crystal says. "...No...." From there on, an ominous wind blows. The place gets unusually and gradually darker. And a shiver goes down our spines. Mist rolls in from the west and south, turning from white to a deep purple and black. It all enters the cave, where a burnt torch lies. The mist turns to look like a smoky gas. Light enters and everyone's eyes turn and look above the cave, where the static and horrifying vision of a man, beaten and bloodied. His arms are chained to the cave wall and the inside of his cuffs are spiked, where they pierce his wrists and ankles. His nose is distorted and blood is dripping out of it. Lashes from a whip are visible across his chest. And his face is covered with a mixture of blood and years of pain and despair. Argena's eyes start to water, and shine in the darkened light.
14-2 Too Late "How did this get so wrong?" Argena says. "We just-" Her words start to become inaudible mutters. And I've only been home for a couple weeks and we're about to lose someone. Yuza's been quiet through this, as everyone else has been making soft-voiced comments. But the first noise that comes from him is the loud cracks from his knuckles and the sound of tightening elastic also from his fist. I do not know why, but no one does anything about it. They just continue to keep their eyes on the holographic image above the cave. And sound is then audible. We hear loud guttural coughs like the ones from the guards that were assassinated by Crystal and Azoth. The echo of these brutal sounds echo loudly from the darkened purple cave. And we can make out some very badly distorted language from it.. "-Hccrrrm-..." The man coughs a little tiny bit. "Youccrrc.. Hyou errrkkcan't do this... Hrkk- nocckk... No. NO. What are you-" -KccK!- The image we see is a holographic screen painted a dark red. But quickly, the image shifts into a high angle above Yuza's brother's head. "Still not dead yet?"
