Hey guys, this is my new story, use the feedback thread pleasee Prologue "Ha ha! You lose, loser!" My brother shouted at me. "That was inventive," I muttered and walked off. Nobody got on my nerves like my little brothers, Joey and Ricky, did. "Gee, you're a bit aggy today, Cass." Ricky commented, a confident grin on his stuck-up face. "Piss off." I replied calmly, willing myself not to look at them. "Is it that time of the month?" Joey laughed cruelly. I lost it. "F***ing piss off, you little crap bags!" I shouted at them, and slammed my door shut. I hated them, I really did. I slowly walked over to my mirror. My name is Cassie Renoli. I'm seventeen, and life is hard. When I say hard, I mean VERY hard. That night, after my brothers had finally gone away, I thought that maybe, just maybe, my first day at my new high school would go smoothly. It was called Eagle Hills High School. For once in her life, Cassie was right. Chapter 1 "Bye mom!" I called out as I slammed the front door and started to make my way towards school. It was quite a long walk, about forty five minutes altogether. Finally, I arrived at school and managed to find my locker. Looking around, all of the students were staring at me. I did my best to ignore them and go to class. The lessons passed in a flash, and soon it was time for 3rd period. As soon as I walked through the door, I heard a girly squeal and, before I knew it, I was hugging my best friend. "Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, I can't believe you're HERE!" Taylor gushed, making me grin. "You HAVE to sit with me at lunch!" The lesson whizzed by, and, soon, it was lunch break. I got my food with Taylor and walked into the hall. She guided me over to her table. There was an even amount of boys and girls, about six of each. "Guys!" Taylor shouted to get the groups attention, and then promptly shut up. "This is Cassie, my best friend, she just moved here from Colorado." They all smiled at me warmly. In return, I waved and smiled back nervously, and a couple of them laughed. "Okay so, let me just tell you about the cliques in our year…" Taylor whispered and pointed as she said them. "They're the geeky asians, they're the cool asians, the boring ones, the emo's, the complete weirdos, and…the 'hot cheerleaders and then the 'hot jocks', they're on different tables but sometimes mingle with each other. Don't be mistaken by their sweet exteriors, they're real b****es behind closed doors. Us, we're the cool guys." She finished by winking. "Uh okay." I replied uncertainly and smiled. Lunch was just same old, same old. People asking me questions, normal chit-chat, gossiping and flirting. I had to admit, the guys in this group were pretty hot. Soon, the bell went, so I headed off to my next class. *** Before I knew it, I was back at school the next day. Third period was French. "Sir, where should I sit?" I asked gingerly. "Cassie Renoli, yes?" I nodded. "Well, how about up the back there?" I placed my things on the desk, and slumped down. It was only my second day of school and already I felt sick. But, my day was about to get a lot better. The most handsome guy I had ever seen came and sat next to me. His dark black hair was flicked up perfectly, his skin was immaculate and his eyes…oh his eyes. They were a deep, chocolatey brown; almost black. He had a strong tan and be wore a black t-shirt with dark jeans. All in all, he was drop-dead gorgeous. "Hey, I'm Saxon." He introduced himself, all I could do was stare into his eyes. After a moment of awkward silence, I realised what I was doing and blushed intently. "Sorry, I'm Cassie." I smiled at him, willing the redness to fade. Sir had started to talk, but Saxon seemed to show quite an interest in me. "So, where do you come from?" He whispered as we pretended to pay attention. "Colorado, I moved here a week ago." "Ah okay." "Cassie and Saxon. Unless you want to take this chit-chat to detention, I suggest you shut up and listen to me." "Yes Sir." Saxon called out just as the bell rang. "See you around." He winked and strode out of the classroom confidently. I shyly stood up and walked out of the classroom. I didn't have my phone on me and I didn't know where Taylor was. I decided to skip lunch today and just head straight for the lunch hall. "Hey!" Someone called out, and I looked around surprised. "Yeah, you, come sit with us!" With shock, I realised that one of the girls on the cheerleaders table was talking to me. I uncertainly sat down on one of the seats opposite them. "So, whats your name?" One of them asked. There were four of them. They were all pretty, three with light blonde and one with black-ish hair, she looked almost Mediterranean. She was obviously the 'leader'. Anyone could see that, she was gorgeous with long, dark hair and full lips, a petite body to top it all off. You could tell she was the one who all the boys liked. "Cassie." I responded shyly, and sneaked a glance over at the jocks table, before snapping my gaze back to the Mediterranean girl in front of me. "You're very pretty." One of the other girls commented. "Oh, uh, thank you." "What, so you know you're pretty?" The girl said, almost challenging me. "No, that's not what I meant..." I flustered, trying to get an explanation. "Sarah, stop." The main girl said, and turned back to me. "I'm Brianna." She said sweetly, but not in a sarcastic way. "Hey." I smiled at her, she seemed genuinely nice. The bell rang. "Sit with us tomorrow, yeah?" One of the other girls asked. "Sure." I answered and went on my way.
Chapter 2 "Cassie! Over here!" The girl I was presuming to be Sarah shouted, and I wandered over. "Hey," I greeted, feeling a little more confident today. "Hey, Cassie!" Brianna said. "So today, we have to tell you a couple of, uh, rules we follow." "Basically, if you don't follow the rules, you can't sit with us anymore!" The girl whose name still escaped me. "Rule one," Sarah started. "You can never wear your hair tied up!" "Rule two; we all wear jeans or jean shorts on Thursdays." Explained the the other girl. "Rule three; you can only wear track bottoms on Monday, if you want to." Sarah mentioned. "Finally," Brianna sighed. "You can't hit on any of our boyfriends. That goes for you two as well." She finished by glaring at the other two, and I could sense a tiny bit of tension. "Hey Brianna! Come here a sec?" One of the 'hot jocks' shouted. "Excuse me for a minute?" Brianna smiled sweetly and left the table. I could vaguely hear their conversation. "So, who's the new girl?" One of them asked eagerly. "Oh, that's Cassie." She replied smoothly. "Really? She's hot." One of them wiggled his eyebrows and winked at me, making me smile and the other guys laugh. I could hear Sarah and the other girl talking in the background I turned away from the guys for a minute or two to cool my cheeks down. When my cheeks had finally lost the pinkness to them, I looked back over to the table. To my surprise, Saxon was sitting over there and he was staring right at me. The stare was a confused one, as if he knew something but, for the life of him, couldn't remember what it was. We stared at each other for what felt like an eternity. Finally, I looked away. "Don't let Brianna catch you and Saxon staring at each other like that. Goodness knows what she would do." Sarah delicately giggled. "Isn't that right, Eva?" "Totally." Eva replied. "Haha, okay…" I replied awkwardly. Finally, the lunch bell rang. I took off quickly, glad to be away from the awkwardness. I took my seat in French for the second time. Saxon came and sat next to me again. "Hey, this is kind of awkward but I haven't done the homework." He smiled sheepishly, running a hand through his hair. "Want to look at mine?" I boldly offered, pushing my book towards him. "Cheers." He thanked me gratefully and took notes from my homework. The lesson passed in a blur again, the same as last lesson; chatting and laughing the whole time, whilst getting the minimum amount of work done that was possible. He walked to my locker. "Wait, can you just hold this?" I handed him my bag and grabbed my books out of my locker. "See you tomorrow." I said. "Bye Cassie." He flashed me a heart-stopping smile. After recovering from the last look he gave me, I ran home through the forests. The feeling of running exhilarated me; just being speedier than the passing cars gave me a thrill. I arrived home. As usual, no one else was in so I went and crashed on my bed. My thoughts almost immediately travelled to Saxon. One of us would have to break the 'touch barrier' soon, wouldn't we? I lay there for an hour, just thinking about school, school and more school. Finally, my family started to return home. My twin brother and a girl in our year arrived home last. He was such a player, he had a new girl practically every week. They chatted to my mom and then watched the television in the 'cave'. I recognised her voice but I couldn't quite place it. I decided to say hi to them. I walked down the stairs casually to greet them, and to my greatest shock, Brianna was sitting there. "Uh, hey Brianna, hey Brad." I said, stunned. "I'm going to go now..." "Catch you around, Cassie." Brianna replied. "Hey mom." I greeted, scavenging in the kitchen for food. "Hey sweetie, did you make any friends today?" asked, genuinely interested. "Yeah." "Oh…well are they nice?" "No." I finally decided on an apple, and started my homework. I heard a knock on my door. "Yeah?" I called out. "Hey Cassie, it's Brianna. Can I come in for a second?" She asked hesitantly. "Sure." She plopped herself down on my bed. "All I want to do is say that just because I'm hanging out with your brother now, doesn't mean that I won't be with Saxon soon. Got that?" She ended with an underlying harsh tone to her voice, it was quiet but it was definitely there. "Yeah. I think you have this wrong." I tried to explain. "I'm not trying to get with Saxon, I never did want to. I showed him my French homework and he copied it, then we got chatting. That's it." "Uh huh. Well thanks anyway!" She gave me a sickly sweet smile. It was one of them smiles that made you smile as well. "See ya." As soon as she shut the door, I let out a deep breath. If I wanted Saxon, I was going to have to play dirty. **** Next chapter, hope you liked it!
Chapter 3 "Cassie, get up!" My mom called up the stairs. I ignored her. "Cassie!" I refused to answer her. "Will you get UP?" Uh. I finally hauled myself out of bed and into my en-suite. I got ready in one hour, making sure I looked perfect. I don't know why. I must've got it off Brianna, Eva and Sarah or something. I was wearing a moderately low cut top with a short skirt and slip-on shoes. My make up was immaculate and my hair was curled at the end perfectly. "Bye mom!" I shouted out as I slammed the door behind me. Beginning the long walk to school, I spotted my brother up ahead and ran to catch up with him. Our family was a bit weird. My mom was a twin, I was a twin with my brother and then I had younger twin brothers. Lucky me, I was the only girl in our oh-so dysfunctional group of siblings. "Brad!" I called out. "Wait up!" "Hey Cassie, what's up?" He grinned at me. I was lucky. Me and my brother were closer to each other than anyone else in the family; not many people have that. "I saw you were with Brianna last night." I began. "Yeah. How do you know her?" He asked, puzzled. "Ah well, I'm kind of becoming friends with her at school." I explained, waiting for his reaction. "Oh that's great, Cass!" He exclaimed. "I guess…but if you guys, heaven forbid, didn't work out or broke up or something then I would have to take your side. Then me and Brianna wouldn't really be friends anymore?" I said awkwardly. "I suppose, let's just hope you won't have to choose!" Bras said brightly. "Wanna run?" He asked, a grin on his face. "Sure." We casually walked into the forest. As soon as we were out of the view of prying eyes, we took off. I loved running. I was always the fastest in my year, in both sprinting and long distance. But the only way I could ever run my full speed was when I was hidden from human eyes. It felt like I was jogging whenever I crossed the finish line after a sprint. Lost in our own thoughts, we ran along in companionable silence. "Cassie?" "Yeah?" "Well…if anything was ever to happen to me, or you, in…you know, how would we tell the twins? Sorry, I know this is an awkward conversation but it's been on my mind for a while…" He trailed off, waiting for my response. "I think mom and dad would probably say that you, or I, got hit a car. That's probably the easiest way." I said uncomfortably. "Yeah, I guess. Anyway, lets not think about that. I just wanted to hear what you would say!" He said casually. "Race you?" I grinned excitedly. "Okay! GO!" He shouted and sprinted off. I ran faster too and laughed. Trust him to be a little cheater. When we neared the school, both him and I slowed to a steady walk. "Speak later, sis!" "Bye, Brad." I loved my brother. I really did. *** "Sket." A girl coughed as she as and her little 'possy' walked past us. I almost laughed. They thought they were popular, and they REALLY weren't. I raised my eyebrows at her, a withering expression on my face. I smirked as she looked away from me. "You can talk." Brianna mentioned sparingly, casting a glance at the girls clothes. "You look like a freaking prostitute." Sighed Sarah, making Eva laugh. "Oh, you really want to talk about prostitutes?" One of the others girls retorted, making the others laugh. "You're so funny." I stated dryly. "And you're really not." One of the girls smirked. "You only need to wear one pair of socks at a time; they belong on your feet, not in your bra." Eva, Sarah and I burst out laughing at Briannas witty insult. "You fell from the top of the sl*ts tree, and banged every guy on the way down." All of the other girls cracked up as the 'leader' smirked proudly. "You just fail, Brianna." "So did your dads condom." And with that, we all strutted off; leaving the others stunned and angry. "Hey, what are their names?" I asked gingerly "The main one is Ariana. The others are Brittany, Roxanne and Paige. They're right b*****s." Brianna said bluntly. I was beginning to get to know the girls. Brianna was the leader; the one that the others almost looked up to, they followed her. Sarah was the funny one, but she's not afraid to say what she thinks. Eva is then the quiet one. She laughs at everyones jokes and can be witty, but seems to have a kind heart. I didn't believe Taylor. These girls seemed great. *** I brushed past somebody as I walked past them in history today. Tingles suddenly shot up and down my arm like fireflies. I gasped sharply. Little did I know that it was Saxon. The rest of the class were chatting, so we could safely have a conversation without looking too strange. He looked into my eyes for what felt like ten hours before leaning down and whispering in my ear: "I know what you are…" Before I knew it, he was gone. My feet slowly made their way back to the desk where I sat. How did he know? How COULD he know? My mind swirled with thoughts. I learnt one thing that lesson; Saxon was one of us. *** "Brad?" I knocked on his door, my knees shaking. "Yep?" He called out nonchalantly. I slowly opened the door and closed it behind me, collapsing on his bed. "Do you know a guy called Saxon Grey?" I asked quietly, keeping my gaze glued to the ceiling. "Yeah, why?" I hesitated. I sat up, and, for half a minute, gathered up my thoughts. Brads face was plastered with worry. "I…I think I've found my soul mate." ---- Please comment on the correct thread :*
Chapter 4 'I need to speak to you.' I received a text from Brianna. We shortly met at the front of the school. "What's up? "You have to listen to me." Brianna said, in a deadly serious tone. "Yeah?" "You are Ariana's new target. Me, you, Sarah and Eva are the clique that Ariana, Brittany, Roxanne and Paige are enemies with. You're the new girl; it's only natural she will target you. "So listen; she pulls little stunts and tricks like taking your clothes when you're in PE, making the showers freezing cold when you're in them; the like. "But, with me and the girls, you should be okay." She finished with a slight sigh. "Are you sure this is alright? I mean, I can always stay away from you guys until she backs off or something…" "Are you serious? No way, Cassie! You're with us now; we all help each other." Brianna grinned and linked her arm through mine. "Let's go." *** I was walking home through the forest, alone. As much as I loved it, I didn't really feel like running today. I heard a twig snap behind me, but I ignored it. If it was an enemy, I would be able to hold my own. "Cassie." His velvety voice reverberated in the small space around me. "Why are you here?" I stopped, but didn't turn to face him. "I didn't think you came this way." "I don't." He whispered in my ear. A tingle ran down my spine. Our bodies were so close, I could almost hear his beating heart. Then he disappeared. Instantly, where he had touched before was now cold. "Saxon?" I called out. "Why are you really here?" "Maybe I wanted to see you. Maybe I wanted to stalk you. Maybe, just maybe, I wanted to get to know you better." I walked over to a tree stump and sat down, shooting a text to my mom, saying I'd be home late. "So, what do you say?" He asked hopefully. Huh? "To what?" I asked, confused. "Chatting, getting to know each other a bit better?" He explained. "Oh, sure, I guess." I replied uncertainly. It couldn't hurt, could it? "Race you to the top of the hill?" I grinned excitedly. "GO!" He yelped. I laughed and took off after him. Suddenly, we were almost flying at a supernatural hill. On the way, he was constantly making me laugh, giggle or chuckle. We eventually reached the top of the hill. I gave my feet a rest and stretched out, looking over our small village. "So," Saxon began as he sat down next to me. "Where do you come from?" "Colorado. How long have you lived here for?" I asked, trying to make conversation. "About ten years. My dad died when I was a child so my mom thought life would easier in a small village. We lived in New York before so it was quite a big change." He explained quietly. "Oh…I'm sorry." I said, and actually meant it as I touched him on the shoulder. I suddenly had that strange feeling shooting through my fingertips as my skin connected with his. "It's okay, I guess." He replied, his gaze hardened as he looked out to the horizon. "I just miss him sometimes, you know?" "Yeah." I sympathised with him. I held his gaze for a while, and then he looked out at our village again. "Then, not long ago, my little sister passed away." I saw his jaw clench as his eyebrows lower. "It was from cancer…she was only four." His voice broke on the word 'four'. "Oh…god, I'm so sorry, Saxon." I really didn't know what to say. "You know, I can kind of relate to how you feel. I had a best friend. She was literally my BEST friend. We did everything together. "Then, one day, we were walking home from school. It just was just about time to cross the road and we were stepping out from behind a bus. I heard some tires squeal and I screamed and jumped back. "But her reflexes were never as fast as mine. "I actually saw the car as it thrashed into her body. I saw the way all of her bones were mushed into nothing. I saw my best friend, the person who I told everything to, die. Right before my eyes." Tears blurred my vision, as I looked down at the ground, willing them not to spill. "It only happened five months ago. From the moment I wake up, to the second I go to sleep, I am still haunted by that day." Salty water spilled over my eyelids. However, even though I was crying, I still managed to keep my voice reasonably steady. Then, Saxon did something which shocked me the most. He placed his arm around me shoulder, and held me tight whilst I sobbed on his shoulder. Not a word did he utter. Like a gentlemen, he was silent until I was ready to speak for myself. "Thanks for that." I smiled gratefully at him. "Anytime." He softly replied. I was still very aware of the electricity coursing through my veins. I glanced at my phone. "It's only 4:30pm." I muttered, mainly to myself. "Want to go somewhere?" He stood up, brushing his jeans off. "I guess." I replied, pushing myself off the ground. He led me through the forest to quite a large children's park. It had a small little ice cream shop and then a medium-sized park. It had swings and slides and some electrical games. It was quite modern. He paid for two classic cones and we made our way over to the swings. I lowered myself down onto one and began to gently push myself back and forth as I ate my ice cream. "Hey, Uh, thanks for that earlier." I smiled gratefully at him. "It's all good, I could tell you needed a shoulder to cry on." We sat in companionable silence for a while. "You should really just let it all out sometimes. Otherwise, all these tears and stress will just build up and up, making every seem worse than it actually is." He murmured, more speaking to himself than to me. "You get my drift?" "I guess." I replied. We finished our ice creams slowly; both lost in our own thoughts. "Want me to push you?" He grinned. "YEAH!" I cried excitedly and he laughed. I was such a big kid! He began to push me higher and higher. I laughed and giggled the whole time. Finally he stopped when it started to get too high, I gradually let myself slow down. "I kind of need to go home now." I said awkwardly as I felt my hair, making sure it was still okay. I shrugged. It would have to do. As a gentleman, he walked me home. Again, the whole time we chatted and laughed about various subjects. "So, are you going out with Brianna or something?" I asked, not really caring if the question came out sounding clingy. "Nah. We dated for half a year, or something like that, last year." "Ah okay." At last, we reached my front door. I shyly turned around. "Thanks for today, I really enjoyed it." I smiled at him modestly. "We should do it again sometime." He replied confidently. "Bye." I said. Gathering up all my courage, I planted a little kiss on his cheek. Before he could reply, I had opened the front door and slipped inside it. I couldn't help it; a huge grin stretched out across my face. But then my thoughts turned to Brianna. I know this is right, but is it also wrong? *** Enjoy :*
Chapter 5 I waited until the clock stroke midnight. Tonight was my night to patrol, alongside Dylan and Jake - two other members of the pack. As I waited at the edge of the forest, I heard a wolf howl. Excitement bubbled up in my chest. I began running, ever picking up speed. I jumped, and the satisfying feeling of transforming gave me a sense of pleasure. I stood, in all my glory. My fur was shining, and my eyes were bright. Once a week, it was my turn to patrol the forests. This was for a number of reasons, too many to count. I didn't even know them all myself. Out of twenty members, I was one of two girls in the pack; the other was called Rosie. Because my great-grandfather was the alpha, that gives me extra strength and superiority, a higher rank in the pack. My brother was alpha. Occasionally, I had to bow down to him/follow his orders. It didn't really matter though; we were that close. My thoughts snapped back to the task ahead. 'Cassie? You there?' A voice called in my head. Dylan. 'Right here. Sorry, zoned out for a minute then.' I replied quickly. 'Report back if you find anything.' I grinned in an odd way, showing all my sharpened teeth. I could boss them around however I wanted: I was a higher rank in the clan than both of them. I was slowing trotting through the forest as I heard slow and steady breathing behind me. I stopped, and growled slightly. This was not Jake or Dylan playing a joke, they wouldn't dare, especially not on me. I slowly turned around to come face to face with the hugest creature of my kind I had seen. It was a dark, slick black with ebony eyes. It had a harsh, boss-like expression on it's face. But kind eyes: so kind. As I looked into them, I mentally gasped. It was Saxon. I blocked out the other two from my mind, and extended it to Saxon. 'Cassie? Is that you?' His voice filled my head, uncertainty clear in his tone. 'Yeah, I'm guessing that's Saxon.' I replied quietly, laying my head on my paws, and looking up at the stars above. Suddenly, lust overcame me as I looked at his body. 'Close your eyes for a second.' I instructed. He did as was asked. I quickly merged back and slipped on a tank top and shorts - I always strap my clothes to my ankle when I'm not in my human form. "You can open them." I said out loud, I didn't really like talking through my thoughts and head. He motioned for me to do the same. Within seconds of shutting my eyes, I heard him murmur for me to open them again. "So, you're one too, huh?" He observed. "Well done." I sarcastically clapped. He grinned, laughing softly. Laying down and putting his hands behind his head, he cast his sight up to the stars above; I did the same. As we lay in companionable silence, I secretly checked him out. All he was wearing was some shorts, no top. Boy, did Saxon work out. I suppressed a smile, and continued to stargaze. "Hey, look over there!" He pointed towards a cluster of stars. "It looks like a camel." I giggled as I tried to work out the constellation. "No, it doesn't?" I teased him. It did look like a camel but I wanted to see his response. "Can't you work it out?" He frowned cutely. Saxon shifted closer to me, and, all the while looking at the group of stars, moved his face closer to mine. Our cheeks were almost touching, however, he only did this so we would have the same line of sight. "Okay, so…" He explained it to me, and I pretended to suddenly get it. Saxon grinned. "You see? That wasn't too hard was it?" He chuckled. He turned to face me, and I gasped at the proximity of our faces. I stared into his eyes for a second, my heart beat going wild. "Cassie? Where are you?" I heard Jake call. I closed my eyes disappointedly and threw my head back to look at the stars above. "Over here." I answered unwillingly. "And who's this!" Jake laughed and winked, in his human form. "Somebody." I stood up and brushed off my legs. "Well, come on you lovebird, it's time to start patrolling again. Dylan and I were getting anxious, we couldn't find or contact you." He almost chastised me. "Sorry, Mom." I laughed. "I'll be there in a minute." Jake took off in the darkness. "Catch you around." I winked. I saw his eyes run appreciatively down my legs. "Sure." He replied, somewhat distractedly. I grinned and, without removing my clothes, leaped into the air. I transformed mid-jump. I looked back at Saxon once before taking off into the night. *** I met morning. For some reason, this morning I felt happy and carefree, like nothing could get to me. I bounded out of my room. "What's up, sis?" "You get laid last night?" The twins grinned evilly. I wasn't going to let them get to me. I just gave them the middle finger and carried on walking. I suddenly had a thought. Quickly making my way to my brothers door, I knocked and waited for his response. "Come in…I guess." He replied uncertainly. "No! Don't…" Brianna trailed off as I walked through the door. She was hastily buttoning up her blouse as I walked through the door. My brother, however, was just standing there with casual clothes thrown on and tousled hair. "This is…Uh…nice." I said awkwardly. "Brad, can I speak to you for a second?" I asked hesitantly. "Sure thing." He walked outside into the hall and I shut the door behind him. "I don't really know how to ask this but, well, basically, do you know someone called Saxon Grey?" Brads eyes significantly darkened. "Yeah, I do. Why?" He asked, not harshly but definitely not in a jolly tone either. "No reason," I shrugged it off. "Cass." He said sharply. "Tell me." "It honestly doesn't matter!" I hastily tried to end the conversation. "Anything to do with Saxon matters, especially with our clan." He spat the word 'Saxon' as if it were poison. "You're not going to like this…but…I think he's my soul mate." I answered awkwardly. "WHAT?!" --- Please leave feedback on the designated thread! -Swag x
Chapter 6 For once in my life, things became kind of awkward between my brother and I. Ever since I had told him about Saxon, he seemed withdrawn and quiet. For the next few weeks, I went about my business: getting good grades, becoming better friends with Saxon, fitting in with Brianna, Sarah and Eva. Slowly, everything was falling into place. The only bad thing? My brother was well and truly pissed off. *** "Sarah! Eva! Hurry up, you two!" Brianna called as her and I exited a shop. We were all at the mall together; us four. "Okay, can we go to Abercrombie and Fitch next?" Sarah requested. "My mom said I could get some new stuff from there!" "Sure." Brianna agreed. I found it amusing how they almost asked for permission to go to a shop - it was like Brianna had ownership over them or something. All four of us burst into giggles as we walked past some of the hottest guys. They all grinned confidently at us. There were four of them, four of us. "Hey," One of the boys called out to us. Brianna kept on walking. "I think they're talking to us?" I hissed to her as she slowly turned around. With a flirty smirk on her face, and a toss of the hair, Brianna strutted up to the boys, all three of us in her wake. "Hey," she replied dreamily, staring into the eyes of one of them. I checked them all out. It was obvious I was doing it, but I didn't really care if they saw me. They were all tall, three with dark hair. The other had dirty blonde hair with blonde streaks; it looked like highlights but they were definitely too natural. All of them had defined, big muscles, but not the huge, bodybuilder type (they just looked gross). I saw one of them eyeing me up. He was definitely the one I fancied; I could tell that Eva liked him too but she was too shy to do anything about it. This was the one with dirty blonde hair, he was absolutely gorgeous. He grinned at me. "Hey." "Hey." I replied, holding his gaze for a while. "Whats your name?" He asked inquisitively, his eyes never leaving mine. I hesitated slightly. It wasn't much, but definitely there! "Cassie, you?" I replied, slightly uncertain. "Kyle." He answered smoothly. "Could I maybe get your number? You know you couldn't resist this," He said, motioning towards his body and winked. I giggled, what I was hoping to be, sexily and saved my number into his iPhone. "Well, you lovely ladies, we're afraid we have to go now!" One of them regretfully said. "Maybe we'll give you girls a ring." Kyle winked at me. "I'll definitely be giving you one." He whispered in my ear as they walked away. "Oh…my…gawd. They were so DREAMY!" Sarah exclaimed, gazing after them. "I just like the one with the blonde hair." I grinned at the thought of him. "He sure was hot." Commented Brianna. "Anyway, I'm pretty sure they'll be giving us a ring PRETTY soon." She winked, making us all giggle. We eventually made our way into Abercrombie and Fitch, the boys never slipping out of our minds for one minute. Kyle's POV (Point Of View) We all sauntered into Hollister, confident smirks on our faces. The song 'Sexy and I Know It' started to play in the shop. "Seems like the song was waiting for our arrival, a perfect welcome." We all laughed at Toms joke. We browsed light heartedly, my mind knee-deep in swirling thoughts and ideas. In the end, we strode out of Hollister, all having bought a couple of clothes. We decided to walk over to Maccy D's for a bit of lunch. The queue was long and I sighed; we would be here for a while. "They were FIT, man!" Dane exclaimed, referring to the girls we met before. "Hell yeah!" Marcus replied enthusiastically. "Guys! Shut UP a second!" I almost shouted, getting a few weird glances. "Sorry," they all mumbled respectfully. "What are you thinking about? You seem pretty concentrated on it, whatever it is." Tom commented. "I think…I think she's the one." I stuttered in shock. "What?" "No way!" "We're not ready!" "We NEED to speak to Sam, we're leaving. I need to go organise something. Meet me outside the forest in twenty minutes." I had always been a good liar. I jogged away from them. As soon as they were out of sight, I called the girl called Cassie. "Hello?" I heard some girly giggling and squealing in the background. "Hey, it's Kyle." "Oh, hey Kyle!" She exclaimed happily, all the while, girly sounds in the background. "Do you and those girls want to come to the cinema with me and the lads?" I asked eagerly. I was going to ask something different, but I'd decided not to. 'Don't run before you can walk.' The Greek saying echoed itself in my mind. "Sure I guess! I'll just ask." I heard some mumbling before there was a resounding 'yes'. "Great, meet at the entrance in ten minutes?" I assumed. "See you there!" I hung up and dialled Marcus' number. "Change of plan: meet me at the entrance of the mall in five minutes." I explained the situation quickly. *** Marcus, Tom, Dane and I were just booking the tickets for The Woman in Black when the four lovely ladies came to greet us. I had briefly mentioned to the boys why we weren't going straight home. I had said that it was to make sure that Cassie was the one. Truthfully? I just wanted to spend time with her! As we entered the cinema, we realised that we had two seats on one row, then four directly below that, then two again below that, all in a vertical line. "We should go back and ask to be in a single or just two rows." Tom commented "No, it's okay. I'll sit next to Cassie on the first row, then on the second row, it could be Tom, Sarah, Dane and Eva, then the last row could be Marcus and Brianna?" I suggested. By the way they had reacted to each other, I could kind of guess who liked who. "Yeah, I guess that sounds good." "Sure!" "Oh yes." Brianna subtly winked at Cassie, wiggling her eyebrows. I smirked at her, it took all my willpower to not look like a complete knob and burst out laughing. It looked like Cassie was having the same problem. "It's settled then, come on then!" I heard Cassie excitedly say as she sauntered up the steps to our row. She settled on her seat as I did the same. "I've heard this movie is really scary." I whispered in her ear. "Really?" She laughed nervously. "I'm not too good with scary films!" Cassie looked down at her fingers. "I scream a lot too. Warning you now." I laughed softly. "Well, if you get too scared, I'm here." I winked at her as a cute shade of red appeared on her cheeks. "Thanks." She grinned cheekily just as the film began. Forty minutes into the film, yet again, every girl in the room screamed. The film was getting freakier and freakier, even I was starting to jump a bit. "Oh god, I can't watch." Cassie mumbled as she buried her face in her hands. "Want to go outside and buy a drink or something?" I asked tentatively. "Yeah please." She whispered without looking at the screen. We made our way out of the cinema screen. "When you said you screamed a lot, you weren't kidding." I jokingly commented, raising an eyebrow at her. She giggled, embarrassed. "It's not my fault, it's a scary movie!" She cried, laughing at the same time. "Right." I said sarcastically. "Don't lie Mr. I know you were scared too, you jumped more times than I screamed." Cassie laughed, challenging me to deny it. "It's not my fault, it's a scary movie!" I said in a high pitched voice, mimicking her. "Whatever." She said playfully, rolling her eyes. "So, what do you want?" We reached the till. "Umm…can I have a slushie please?" She asked eagerly. Her tone of voice reminded me of a wanting child. I admired her attractive features. She had dark brown eyes which contrasted with bright blonde hair. She was petite, her small frame looked athletic. Altogether? She was HOT. "Sure!" I ordered two slushies and we slowly made our way back to the screen. "Ready?" I flashed her a grin. "I guess." She replied, her face contorting into an expression of worry. "Unless…" "Unless we went somewhere else?" Cassie finished eagerly. "Yep, my thoughts exactly!" I replied. We shopped around for a bit. For the second time today, Cassie and I entered Hollister. She tried on a little dress, and let me see it. The tiny blue dress looked amazing on her. It hugged her body in all the right places, and came to about mid-thigh. Any shorter would've looked sl**ty. Even so, the whole time I was just checking out. She decided to purchase it. Me, being the gentleman I am, offered to pay for it. At first, she declined my offer but eventually gave in and let me buy it for her. "Thanks for that, it was really sweet. You didn't have to." She thanked me once we were outside. "But, what if I wanted to?" I replied, staring right into her eyes. She was the first to break eye contact. "Well, if you're sure that you wanted to, I guess it's okay." She said quietly. We settled into silence as we walked towards where all of the restaurants were. Cassie chose a restaurant to go in. We entered and were sat pretty quickly. It was a nice meal. The food was good, and the conversion flowed. There wasn't a moment of awkward silence, or any silence for that matter. Cassie realised that the film was just about to finish; she quickly texted her friends to say that she wouldn't be getting a lift home with them, and that she was with me. "I'd better get going," she mentioned once I had payed for the meal. "I'll drive you home?" I offered. "Sure!" Minutes later, we were on our way home. Luckily, I always leave my car up here at the mall, so it's there if I need it or if I can't run home. Cassie directed me to her house, and when we got there, she hopped out of the car, and I walked her to the door. She turned around to say goodbye to me, I could tell that she was surprised by the proximity of our bodies. I was so close to her, I could practically feel the body heat radiating off her. "I know we only met today, Cassie." I whispered. "But, for some reason, I just feel some sort of connection with you." Her breath fanned across my face. I knew exactly why I had a connection with Cassie, but if she was going to know, I would have to break it in to her gently. I knew I shouldn't do this, it was against the legend, against everything I lived for. But, for some odd reason, it felt right. Her beautiful eyes were wide as they stared into mine. "If you don't want to, just tell me." I murmured. Slowly, I pressed my lips to hers. It felt like fireworks were going off above me. I pushed her up against the door, placing my hands on her waist. Her arms were wrapped around my neck, pulling me closer. Eventually, she pulled away. Cassie stood on her tip-toes and murmured two little words in my ear. "Thank you." Before I knew what was happening, she was gone. With a dopey smile on my face, I slid into my car and drove away, Cassie never leaving my mind. --- Long time no see guys! Chapter 7 "He kissed you?" Brianna asked in amazement, jealously clear in her voice. "Yeah." I mumbled, not really in the mood. The weeks passed. Slowly, painfully. It felt as if the world wanted me to suffer. It felt like I was in a story. This was the gradual build-up to the climax. And, soon, something would happen. Something big, something interesting. Perhaps even something that would change my life. I've had many major changed before, consequently many 'build-up's too, but never anything as tense as this. I was constantly anxious and nervous. The slightest change felt like a shock to me, the smallest thing would make me jump. I felt like I was on the edge, constantly like I was about to slip, to loose control at any moment. However, there was one thing that always calmed me down. Phone calls with Kyle. Even his voice cooled my burning nerves. When I was with him, it was like nothing could ever hurt me. I had seen him about ten times since we met them at the mall. He was still as lovely, trustworthy and sexy as ever. We hadn't really kissed anymore. It didn't feel right, we'd have the occasional one, sometimes he would surprise me with a peck. But nothing too major or heated. I snapped back to reality. I was sunbathing with Brianna, Sarah and Eva one lunchtime. I sat up and removed my sunglasses. The last thing, or more like people, I expected to see here were standing on the edge of the field. "Girls look! Its them guys we met at the mall!" I cried excitedly. "What?" "Huh?" "Why are they here?" All four of us ran over to the guys. I tapped Kyle on the shoulder. I still received that tingly feeling in my skin whenever I touched him, but I was starting to get used to it. As he turned around to look at me, his whole fun lit up in happiness. "Hey Cassie!" "Heyy! Why are you here?" I asked eagerly. "We all got a transfer here." He grinned down at me. As I replied, my gaze wandered to other places. Many girls were staring at us in disbelief, jealously or longing. They all wanted to be in our shoes right now. "I'm just so glad you're here!" I squeal, jumping-hugging him. He easily catches me and spins around in a circle as I laugh merrily. Maybe there wasn't going to be a terrible climax. Maybe the climax had been and gone, maybe this was my happy ending to the story. Over Kyle's shoulder, I saw Ariana, Brittany, Roxanne and Paige glaring at us. Kyle eventually put me down. We chatted for a bit longer. When the time came, I quickly mentioned it to Brianna. "Okay, thanks." She replied. All of us girls went back to sunbathing with the boys at our side. I didn't really sunbathe though. I kind of did but I did it sitting up, not laying down. "So, what's your next class?" Kyle asked casually. I subtly shifted closer to him. "I think it's Home Economics and then Biology." I explained quietly, gazing out over the field. We were silent for a couple more minutes. "Close your eyes." Kyle instructed out of the blue. "Umm…" I hesitated. And then realised what I was doing; Kyle wouldn't hurt me, would he? We were in school anyway, nothing too big could happen. I rolled my eyes but shut them even so. A grin spread across my lips as I thought of all the things he could do to me. No longer than ten seconds passed but it felt like ten hours. Just as I was about to ask where he was, soft, warm lips were pressed gently against mine. I slowly wrapped my arms around his neck. After a month of knowing him, I still had the electric sensation. I told myself that I was getting used to it, but I really wasn't. Kyle was now half hovering over me, whilst I was kind of sitting up. I heard cat calls and wolf whistles but I didn't really care - I actually found them humorous. After a while we broke away, I leant my forehead against his. His eyes were like the deepest ocean, I felt like I could get lost in them, easily. Very easily. They were a sky blue with jade streaks and specks running throughout. "What was that for?" I asked, kind of breathlessly. "For making me the happiest I've ever been, for being kind and caring. But most of all," he leaned in to whisper in my ear. "For being goddamn sexy." I giggled shyly just as the bell rang. "See you." I waved at him delicately, as I gathered my belongings. I turned back around and admired him. He really was handsome; I definitely had a HUGE crush on him, I was pretty sure he had one on me! I walked off, Sarah and Eva asking a million questions and minute. "Is he a good kisser?" "Did you feel up his chest?" "What do his eyes look like?" "Does he have a six pack?" "Was it awkward when everyone was whistling and stuff like that?" "How many times have you seen him?" "Do you think he'll ask you out?" I waited for them to shut up. "It was amazing." I said simply, and stepped into Drama. *** I received a text from Kyle; "I'll be dreaming of a certain someone hopefully u will be 2 xxx" I'm smiled gently and turned my phone off, ready to get my beauty sleep. Kyle really was sweet. However, there was just something that was…off about him. As hard as I tried, I couldn't put my finger on it. *** That night, I really did dream. But not necessarily Kyle. It was about all different things: Greek times, Kyle, the other three boys, Saxon, Ariana (weirdly), wolves, and an alpha male. Both the human and the animal face of the 'alpha male' kept popping up in my dreams. And for some odd reason, one word stuck with me the whole night. Omega. ______ Heyy guys! Chapter 8 I gradually opened my groggy eyes. My phone was ringing loudly. It was too early. Far, far too early. As I picked up my phone, I glanced at the clock. Who on earth would be ringing me at one in the morning? "Hello?" I answered, my voice thick with sleep. "Hey, this is the pizza delivery service." Said someone in an English accent. I recognised the voice; it was laced with over-confidence and had an annoying twang to it. I heard girly giggling in the background, and I just rolled my eyes in disgust. "Hey, Ariana? Have you been to the mall recently?" I asked innocently. "I don't know who this 'Ariana' is, but she is not here." The little brat decided to turn Italian. "Smooth change of accents there." I commented sarcastically. "Anyway, back to the mall; they're selling lives there - you should go get one." Before she could retaliate, I hung up, pleased with how that went. 'Open ur window!xxx' I received a text from Kyle. Confused, I let my window open as far as it would go. "Kyle?" I whispered, leaning out. "Hang on," I heard him quietly call. "Can you just move for a second please? I do need to get through that you know!" He joked. I laughed lightly and walked away from the window. Seconds later, he was in my room and had shut the window. "What's up?" I asked inquisitively, not really caring that my makeup was smudged or my hair was messy - it was too late, or early really, to fuss about that. "Could you get dressed? Marcus and I need to talk to you about…something." He stuttered. I confusedly, hesitantly agreed. I instructed him to wait in my en-suite. I threw on some dark, tight-fitting jeans with a Hollister top and a thin coat on the top. Uggs were on my feet. I fixed my hair - well, made it look decent anyway - and applied some light makeup, just to look presentable. I quietly opened my en-suite door and let Kyle out. Brushing my teeth, I looked at him in the mirror; he was non-too discreetly staring at my butt. I just rolled my eyes and cleaned out my mouth. "I'll carry you down." He whispered as we neared the window. "I'm too heavy!" I said in genuine horror. He chuckled quietly. "I'm pretty sure you're not." He murmured giving me a once-over. I sighed dramatically. "Go on then." I jumped on his back, and he began the long descent down to the floor. Luckily, there was a tree right outside my window. I could've climbed out myself but I didn't want to look too 'manly' or anything. Besides, this way was easier! Soon enough we reached the ground, and I delicately touched my feet to the floor. "Told you I was heavy." I mumbled, blushing. "You? Cassie, you're as light as a feather." Kyle laughed, and grabbed my hand. "Come on, we need to go." "Wait, who's Marcus?" I asked dazedly, the familiar electric sensation shooting through my fingertips. Kyle shrugged. "He was at the mall. Dark hair, grey eyes…" He trailed off, looking at me expectantly. "Oh yeah, I remember him!" I grinned. I got into his sleek, red sports car and we were off. Kyle was driving fast, but I trusted him. It felt like I had known him for centuries now. Millenniums even. In minutes, we were outside a huge house; I was guessing it belonged to Kyle. I raised my eyebrows at him. "Me and Marcus share it." He explained. "Oh." I replied simply. We both walked into the threshold. "Hey," a handsome guy appeared. His hair was gelled to perfection, his skin was completely clear and tanned. "Hey, I'm Cassie." I replied, kind of breathlessly. "I'm Marcus." His eyes flashed pure love as he gazed into my own. That was weird; I had only just been properly introduced to him. How could he be in love with me so soon? I must've just read his emotions wrong. I brushed it off - it was obviously nothing. If I had to die right now, I would die happy. This was like being in the company of gods. Kyle led me into the room that Marcus had come from. I sat down on one of the plush, black, leather sofas. Kyle did the same. I was laid back and relaxed. Kyle however was stiff, tense even. "You alright? You seem a bit worried." I commented. "Sorry, there's a lot on my mind." He flashed me a heart-stopping smile. Marcus pulled up a beanbag to sit on. That, too, was black leather. "To start, we know you're a werewolf." Marcus said. "We too, are werewolves. Along with Dane, Tom and him." "Who's 'him'?" I asked, genuinely interested. "Cassie, there's something we need to tell you." Kyle began, staring into my eyes deeply. "I don't know how to put this…" Marcus said awkwardly. "Basically…well, we're…we're from Ancient Greece." Kyle gushed out. "Uhhmm…" I kind of laughed in shock. "Sorry, say that again?" "We're from Ancient Greece." Kyle repeated himself. "We are part of the Omega clan. Sam is our, well he's our alpha male, but he is the Omega male. The highest rank of wolf there is, and ever will be. It is only him. Sam is the one and only Omega male. Once he has died, there will be no more after him." I didn't hear any of the explanation. The last word I heard was the first 'Sam'. I was too busy clutching my chest. It felt like my heart was breaking…literally. It was a terrible pain deep within my heart. This was beyond the point of heart-break. I felt love so deep, it hurt dramatically. But then, beneath the love, there was betrayal, guilt, sorrow. "What's happening…to…me?" I gasped, pressing both hands to me chest. I looked up to see Marcus' eyes widen considerably. "I'm so sorry! I completely forgot, I should never have said his name! I swear, I completely forgot!" Marcus rambled on and on, begging for forgiveness. It felt like cruel hands had slipped into my chest, pulled out my heart and ripped it to pieces. "Marcus, just shut up for a minute." Kyle snapped. "Don't worry, Cassie. Just keep breathing, it will pass soon." "Kyle…make it stop…please." A single tear rolled down my cheek. "Shh, it's okay." Kyle held my to his chest and rocked me gently. The pain slowly began to ebb away. In less than a minute, it was gone completely. I was still breathless. "What happened?" I asked in horror. "Its a long story." Kyle answered tiredly. He reassuringly rubbed a hand up and down my upper arm. "Cassie, I swear I never meant for you to feel that pain." Marcus apologised again and again. He was obviously horrified at what he had done. "Marcus, it's okay. Don't worry about it. I'd rather it happen here than in public or something." I explained to him. "Can someone just explain to me what's going on WITHOUT saying his name?" I winked at Marcus and grinned. "Where to start?" Kyle wondered. "Well, Marcus, Dane, Tom, HIM and I; we're all part of the Omega clan. It's from the Ancient Greek times." He started. Marcus resumed the explanation. "Back in those times, there were myths about werewolves. "One told of Lycaon: a man who ate human flesh, therefore turning into a wolf." "News got out that us five were werewolves." Kyle carried on. "We don't know who told the officials, but someone did. "All of us feared for our life. As you know, we may be able to outrun any other living creature, but there is no mercy to a bow and arrow. "However, the people of Greece worshipped us, as if we were gods." Kyle paused to let Marcus take over. "We were crowned as the Omega clan. He was Alpha male, so consequently, he was the Omega male." Marcus exaggerated the word 'he' to make it obvious he was talking about Sam. "At the crowning, we saw you. You were a Greek Princess: Princess Cassandra. Daughter of King Priam and Queen Hecuba of Troy. "You looked absolutely beautiful." Kyle commented honestly. "You were so beautiful, in fact, Apollo gave you the gift of prophecy." Marcus explained, staring into my eyes. "People believed you predicted the future and spoke the truth. "This is hard to say without saying HIS name. I'll try; you and he fell in love at first sight." I snorted. "It sounds cheesy, I know, but that's just how it goes." "In a month or so, he imprinted on you." My eyes widened. I wasn't expecting that one. Kyle carried on. "One day, whilst you were with him, you predicted something. You predicted that, thousands of years in the future, you would be reborn, and you would once again be his true love. "However, you would have to chose one of us." Kyle finished off. My brain was buzzing with thoughts, feelings and emotions. This was a lot to take in. I yawned widely. "Come on, I'll take you home." Kyle grabbed my hand. I stood up with him. "Bye, Marcus." I waved at him. "Bye, Cassie. Again, I'm so sorry!" He apologised again and I laughed gently. "Don't worry about it!" The drive home was short. Soon, we were back in my room. I was lying under the covers in my bed. Kyle was on top of them with his arm slung over my hips. I lay facing him, playing with the hair at the back of his neck. "Kyle?" I barely whispered. "Yeah?" He replied, just as quietly. "When I finally get to meet him, well, I know me and him are meant to be together, and all that. Will I…will I have the same feelings for you that I have now?" I wondered, tightening my grip around his neck. Kyle stiffened just slightly. "I don't know, Cassie." He replied, pulling me closer to him. "I just don't know." I buried my face in his neck, just relishing being in the company of him. "Can you come under the covers with me?" I murmured quietly. He hesitated. "Please," I asked. "Nothing will happen, I just want to feel warmer." "Okay, then." He replied and climbed under the duvet. We resumed the same position we were in before but this time, I could really feel his body warmth. Kyle kissed me. It was short but sweet. "Night, Cassie." "Night, Kyle." --- Kind of a short chapter, sorry! By the way guys, please refrain from posting on the actual story, :') write comments and 'herp derp' on the right thread pleasee! -Swag x
Chapter 9 Death. That's all there was. And blood too, I guess there was lots of that. Malicious men were slashing or slaughtered - the difference between life and death. But it wasn't a normal war with guns; the soldiers were fighting with swords, bow and arrows, shields. I couldn't take it anymore, I had to get out of this bloodbath. I ran over to a house, wrenched the door open. But this was no normal house. There were daisies, tulips, daffodils, pansies, blue bells, any type of flower you can think of, (some, I had never even seen before!) I crouched down. There was green grass, so lush it felt like you could suck the liquid right out of one strand, and be quenched straight away. The sun was beating down on me, kissing my skin. The sky was clear, not a cloud in sight, instead a baby blue. I gazed around the room. I realised with a shock that the door behind me had disappeared. Wait…what door? I never stepped through a door? Just as I stood up again, I gasped; there was a man in a shadow, cast by a huge tree. My heart started beating wildly, and my whole body started to tingle. I got that strange ache in my chest, the one I had been dreading. However, it was only a dull ache, not too bad this time. Just as he stepped out of the shadows, my eyes snapped open. I was still breathing heavily as I gazed around my bedroom. What had that dream been about, who was that man? Hang on, it was just a dream…right? Nothing special or big. It took me a couple of seconds to realise that Kyle was still with me, but asleep, and I smiled lightly. I had honestly assumed he would've gone back to his house when I was asleep. I looked at my clock to see it was 4am. He was laying on his back with his arm still around me. I propped myself up on my elbow and put one hand on his chest, so I was basically half over him. "Kyle, wake up." I whispered in his ear, and then gently kissed him. A couple of seconds after I broke away, he opened those gorgeous eyes of his. "What a beautiful girl to wake up to." I blushed, and he kissed the tip of my nose. "What time is it?" He groggily asked, whilst I laid back down. "Four." I answered just as tiredly. "Why have you woken me up this early?" Kyle moaned in a fake, whiny voice, tightening his grip around me as I laid my head on his chest. "Sorry." I sheepishly replied, grinning as I looked up at him. "I just really want to go out to the forest. "Hmm?" "I…uh don't worry." I stuttered. "You sure?" I nodded. "Okay." After a couple of minutes silence, he pulled me up to kiss him. It was an amazing kiss…I just couldn't get the guy in my dream out of my head. Its terrible, but I kept finding myself imagining that it was the boy in my dream I was kissing, not Kyle. With a shock, I realised I knew exactly who that guy was. Sam. "Kyle, wait." I put a hand on his chest. He looked at me inquisitively. "What?" I decided to tell him about my dream. I explained in great detail what led me to the room, what he looked like. I even described the flowers that were littering the floor. All the while, Kyle just lay there listening. I played with his hands as I, what felt like, told the story. When I finished, Kyle was silent for a minute, maybe two. "Cassie," he began. "I know you won't want to, I definitely don't want you to, I hate seeing you in pain. But I need to say his name again and see what happens." Kyle sat up, pulling me with him. "Okay." I reply, attempting to sound strong. "I'm so sorry." He whispered and kissed my forehead. "Ready?" Kyle asked, winding his fingers through mine. "Ready." I confirmed, staring into his eyes. All tiredness was now gone, a tinge of fear had replaced it. However, I knew Kyle would comfort me if it got too much. He took a deep breath. "Sam." He uttered. Immediately, my heart exploded in pain. It was a throbbing, tormenting, terrible pain which reached to the core of my heart and back again. It wasn't much different from last time, except for one thing. It was worse. "Kyle," I choked out, releasing one of his hands, but keeping the other firmly in my grip. "It's worse." His eyes widened. "Oh god! Cassie, I'm so, so sorry, I swear! I thought it'd be better, not worse!" He carried on, obviously feeling awful. Even though the pain was worse, it faded quicker. Soon, I was laying back down, trying to get my breath back. Kyle sat next to me, playing with my fingers. After a while, my breathing had returned to normal. "Cassie, I swear, I-" "Shh." I placed a finger over his lips. "Don't worry, Kyle. I know you didn't realise it would be worse. I trust you." I smiled gently at him, marvelling his deep eyes and prominent jaw bone. Successfully silenced, Kyle succumbed and laid down next to me. He wrapped one arm around my hips to pull me in close to him, holding a fragile hand of mine in his strong one. "Have I ever told you how beautiful you are?" He whispered softly. "You're the gorgeous one here, not me." Smiling, I reminded him. Before Kyle could protest, I kissed him. It wasn't a heated, over-exciting kiss. Just a soft one, to show him I meant what I said. "You know it's true." I grinned, closing my eyes and snuggling down. "You know it's rude to lie." I heard the laugh in his voice as he kissed my nose. "Want to go back to sleep?" He asked gently whilst pulling the duvet up around us. "Yeah, if you don't mind." I replied gratefully. "Sure, speak later baby." I rested my head against his chest and he rearranged his arms so they were encircling me tightly. Kyle really was sweet. Just as I was drifting off, I remembered that I forgot to ask him why he said Sam's name. *** "Mo-om! Cassie got it on with Kyle!" One of the brats shouted. "Piss off, Joey." I mumbled, glaring daggers at him. "If looks could kill." Kyle chuckled. I grinned. "I've had years of practise. How do they know your name?" I asked, confused. "I guess they picked it up once when I came round." He shrugged nonchalantly. "Oh, okay." "CASSIE RENOLI. GET YOUR A*S DOWN THOSE STAIRS…NOW!" My mom screeches up at me. "Back soon. Wish me luck." I planted a quick kiss on Kyles cheek. "No." He mumbled, keeping a tight hold on me. "I'm not letting you go." I could hear he was trying not to laugh as he buried his face in my hair. "Kyle!" I laughed, trying to wiggle free. "Give me a kiss, and I'll think about it." He was like a stubborn child. A very sexy stubborn child. I rolled my eyes, grinned and kissed him - on the lips this time "Happy?" His eyes were lit up for some reason and he nodded, releasing his hold on me Before headed downstairs, I checked my reflection. Messy hair, smudged mascara, wearing a vest top and shorts. Wow, I really look like a sex goddess. I looked in the mirror to see Kyle staring at my legs appreciatively. I just rolled my eyes and carried on downstairs. "What's up, mom?" I asked casually, grabbing an apple. "What's all this about you sleeping with Kyle?" She inquired, throwing the dishcloth in the sink and turning around to face me. Anger was clear on her features. Maybe disappointment, bewilderment and disbelief too. I was never that good at reading peoples emotions. "Oh, that. Yeah, well, we got in from the movies late, his mom didn't want him driving home late at night so he just stayed the night. No biggie, nothing happened." I lied smoothly. I mean, of course nothing happened SEXUALLY, but I wasn't just going to casually tell her that he carried me out the window, all that stuff with Marcus, about nobody being able to say Sam's name. Even me being a werewolf; she doesn't know that either. That wouldn't go down well, I can see it now. "Hmm…well I guess you have always been more…responsible and honest than the twins so I believe you. Are you guys planning on going out today?" She inquisitively asked, returning to wiping down the sink. I swear she has OCD or something. "Maybe, we're not sure yet." I replied and headed back upstairs. --- Hey guys, please write comments in the appropriate places.

Chapter 10 Kyles POV "Hey." I opened my eyes to see Cassie strolling back in to her bedroom. "Hey." I replied nonchalantly. "What did your mom say?" Cassie laid back down on the bed next to me. "Oh, nothing, really. She wasn't sure at first but she believed me. I lied." Cassie shot me a cheeky wink. "Oh, right." I chuckled. "What do you want to do today?" I wrapped my arm around her waist as she rested her head on my shoulder. "Well, I had an idea earlier. You know Brianna and Marcus are kind of together now?" Cassie said eagerly. I nodded, kind of seeing where she was going. "We could go on a double date!" I finished for her, admiring that gorgeous grin of hers. "Yeah! Could you text him now, and ask if he could invite Brianna?" Cassie gazed up into my eyes. "'Course." I replied, and quickly kissed her before grabbing my cell phone. I tapped in a quick message to Marcus and sent it. Almost immediately, a reply came back. 'sure i was going 2 c her anyway! meet us at nandos.' Cassie squealed in excitement and I raised my eyebrows at her. "It's not that exciting, babe." I chuckled at her eagerness. "Well, it is to me!" She giggled and I kissed her passionately. After about 10 minutes of relaxing, Cassie got up to get ready. Seeing as I had slept in the previous days clothes, she picked out a new top for me, deciding that my shorts would be okay to wear again today. I also borrowed her brothers gel to style my hair - as you can see, I travel light. Plus his Lynx body spray; the guy had good taste. I was ready in less than five minutes. Deciding that Cassie would be a while, I decided I should go downstairs to try and make a good impression. "Kyle? Is that you?" I heard a female voice coming from the kitchen. "Hey, Mrs. Renoli." I greeted what I assumed to be Cassie's mom. She was a glamorous woman in her late thirties - it was obvious she had children very young. Her hair was short and dark brown, cut into a neat bob and she had a petite, if slightly larger, frame, like her daughter. You could see where Cassie got her looks. She looked sharp, strict and business-like, but also like a caring mother. Just the right balance. Like a typical mom, she was just taking some muffins out of the oven. "Want some help with those?" I politely offered, walking forward to assist her. "Would you mind?" Mrs. Renoli smiled gratefully at me and handed me the oven mitts. It was the highest oven, out of five, so I reached up and pulled out the baking tray, setting it on the mat. "Thank you, Kyle." She set about taking the cases out of the tin. I fumbled around for something to say, just to make light chit-chat. "So, what you do you for a living?" I asked, but it kind of came out sounding rude. I don't think she really minded though. "Oh, well my husband and I run a restaurant. I don't like to boast, but, I must admit, it is very successful. Cassie should take you there one day!" She mentioned, busying herself with clearing up. "Oh, well, your house is lovely." I complimented her, but I actually meant it. "Thank you, Kyle." I heard a deep voice from behind me. I whipped around to see man, who I assumed to be Cassie's dad. He was about forty. His hair was just about starting to turn gray, he very was tall, taller than me, and, by the looks of it, muscular. "You're welcome." I managed to stutter out. He was definitely an intimidating man. "Finally, a decent boyfriend of Cassie's." He grinned at me, and I awkwardly chuckled. "Well, I do try my best, Mr. Renoli." That was the best answer I could muster up. He laughed too and slapped me on the back, I almost fell over. He was stronger than I thought. "I like this one, Jenny!" He exclaimed. "Rob, that's rude!" She chastised him, it was slightly amusing: it reminded me of a teacher telling off a student. "You'll have to excuse my husband. He gets a bit…excited at times." She rolled her eyes at me but I could tell she was joking. "I'll keep that in mind." I laughed just as Cassie walked into the kitchen. "Ready to go?" Cassie inquired, grabbing my hand. "Sure." I turned back to her parents. "Mr and Mrs Renoli, it's been really good to meet you!" "And you, Kyle. Oh, by the way, call us Jenny and Rob." Jenny replied. "Okay, then." "Bye mom, bye dad." Cassie pulled me towards the front door. "Bye Cassie, bye Kyle!" I heard two voices call so I managed to yawp back a 'Bye!' before the door was slammed shut behind me. The car drive was short, Cassie only lived a couple of miles away from the nearest Nandos restaurant. Brianna and Marcus weren't here yet, so Cassie just leant against the car, and I placed my hands on her little hips. "When are they going to get here?" She mumbled, looking at the main road opposite us. "I don't know." I replied simply. "In the mean time…" I kissed Cassie until we were both breathless. I rested her forehead against hers, bending my neck downwards Cassie got our hands and laced them together. I smiled and we just stood there for a minute or so, relishing being in each others company. "Hey, guys!" I heard Brianna shout. We let out an almost synchronised sigh and I stepped away from Cassie. However, I kept a tight hold on her hand. "Hey!" Cassie replied enthusiastically, breaking hand contact just for a second as she hugged Brianna. I greeted Marcus. Soon afterwards, we all made our way into Nandos. The four of us ordered our food and sat down at a table. I was probably mistaken, but it seems to me that Marcus was trying to flirt with Cassie. "I'm going to the rest room." Marcus all but announced, standing up from the table. "Same here." I shoved my chair away with more force than necessary and started to make my way towards the mens room. As soon as both Marcus and I were in the mens room, I slammed the door shut. "Woah, dude, what's up with you?" He asked hesitantly. "What's wrong with me?" I hissed up him. "You're flirting with Cassie. She doesn't know it, but you are, I can see that Brianna knows too." "What?" He shrugged, nonchalant. "She's hot." "And she's mine!" I was losing my temper now. "Seriously? Kyle, you haven't even asked her out yet. As far as I'm concerned, she's still on the market." Marcus looked me straight in the eye. "She's not some firework, Marcus." I growled. How dare he talk about Cassie like that! "And you're here with Brianna anyway!" "When she sees Sam, she'll already be losing any feelings for you. When she actually meets him? There'll be no turning back for her. Admit it, Kyle. That's how it is. No matter how much love you, or any of the clan, show her; we can't undo the past." He practically spat out Sam's name, ignoring my comment about Brianna. As much as I hated to admit it…Marcus was right. I could never have a long-term relationship with Cassie. Ever. "Well…the time I have with her, I'm going to make count." I snapped, storming out of the rest room. As soon as I stepped back into the restaurant, I forced an easy smile onto my face. However, as soon as I saw Cassie laughing, the smile wasn't so forced anymore. I slid back on to the seat next to her, dropping an arm over her shoulder. We were sitting in a kind of booth, so it was a long seat, for me and Cassie, then the table, then another long seat, for Marcus and Brianna. Cassie leant into me, and Brianna practically squealed. "Awhh!" She basically cooed at us. "You guys are so cute!" I just grinned. "Thanks," Cassie said. "You and Marcus go well together too though!" "Yeah, but it's not the same." Brianna kind of sighed, just as Marcus walked out from the rest room. "Hey." He greeted Brianna and Cassie, not meeting my harsh glare. "Hey, babe." Brianna said. As Marcus sat down, he grabbed Brianna's hand and held it tightly in his own. "So, where do you want to go after this?" Cassie casually asked, trying to make conversation. "Um, the beach? We could play a mini game of volleyball!" Cassie eagerly offered up. "Sure, that sounds good." Marcus grinned at her a little too warmly, I just sent him an icy glare and gritted my teeth. The food eventually came. Everyone had something to talk about, but Marcus and I didn't talk to each other once. Once we had paid the bill, all four of us walked down to the sandy shore; it was only about a ten minute walk. "Is everything alright with you and Marcus?" Cassie whispered to me at one point. "Well…" Should I tell her the truth? "To be honest, no. He's flirting with you." Almost as if it had a mind of it's own, my jaw clenched and unclenched. A soft smile spread across her face. "That's what you're worried about?" I nodded. "Kyle, that is so cute that you're that concerned! And don't worry, nothing he does will take me away from you. Okay?" She looked up at me, waiting for an answer. "I guess." I said, not really meaning it. Cassie stopped walking. Since we were holding hands, I was forced to stop too, frowning. "You listen to me." She began in a surprisingly strong voice. "No matter how much Marcus flirts with me, I'll always prefer you over him. Always. You don't need to worry, Kyle. Because, guess what?" I grinned. "What?" "I'm hooked on you, a hundred percent." She said truthfully, staring up at me. I looked back into her eyes for a second, before bending down to kiss her. It was only a brief one, just to prove to Cassie that I believed her. Cassie's POV "Come on, then." We set back off after Marcus and Brianna, walking faster; trying to catch up with them. Us four reached the beach after about ten minutes of walking. We hired a volleyball, net, and because we wanted to make it a proper game, we actually bought some clothes. We split off to go get changed, I was with Brianna. "You know, Cassie." She began. "I'm not going to lie. At first, I wasn't sure about you. You seemed a bit goody-goody and quiet. But," Brianna finished tying her hair up. "I'm glad I gave you a chance, I was totally wrong about you!" A kind of warm feeling blossom inside of me. "Really?" I tried to hold back a grin, that would just look a bit weird. "Really. Oh, by the way, I meant what I said in Nandos. You and Kyle really do suit each other. It's almost like you have this connection with each other." Oh, little did she know, it was more than just 'this connection'. "Actually, thinking about it, you get along well with Marcus too." "Okay, stop there!" I laughed. "You're making me sound like some sort of s**t! No way whatsoever, am I trying to get Marcus too; we're more like mates than a couple to be honest!" "Hey," Brianna raised her hands in mock surrender. "I was just saying." She grinned and, with our arms linked together, we strode out onto the scorching sand. "Ready to play?" Brianna confidently asked as we greeted the boys. "Woah." Marcus stared at mine and Brianna's interlinked arms. "Got in a bit of action. In the changing rooms, did we, girls?" I rolled my eyes but laughed at Kyle as I smacked his arm. "Shut up!" I tried to be serious but couldn't stop laughing at their stupidness. "Well, too bad, Brianna." Kyle pulled me towards him, and held me tight. "She's mine." "Right…" After a couple of seconds, Brianna, too, burst out laughing. "Whatever. Let the games begin!" --------- Everyone please see the feedback thread, I need to say something! -Swag x
