Besides thinking deep thoughts about being unemployed, we philosophers often get hung up over the definition of words. One such came up with yesterday when Wulf declared that the clan -Silent Shadows- was not a sub-clan of IG, which was a surprise to everyone in SS who thought for months they were part of the IG family. Putting this whole OSW aside for a moment, Wulf's comments do bring up a interesting point. How do we really define the various types of clans out there? This time, instead of me spouting off my theories, let me pose a few questions to you the my fellow KaW addict. 1. What is a difference between a sub-clan and a family clan? 2. Should club families have similar names to be considered family clans? (Zaft-Faith, Zaft-Carnage etc.) 3. Is posting that you are a family clan on the clan page enough to be considered a family clan? 4. How exactly are the obligations of a family clan different from those of a allied clan? 5. What distinctions are we making when we list a clan as a blood alliance instead of a regular alliance? 6. If a clan council decides to make a secret farmer clan with alts, what is that clan's relation to the main clan? Can it be called a family clan? 7.Okay. Let's say there is a clan Apples. They have a family clan called Oranges. When Apples goes to sw their enemy gets angry because Orange is hitting too. The enemy goes "why did you bring in an allied clan?". In response, Apples says "That's not an allied clan. Thats our family clan. Can't you tell? We are both fruit!" In your opinion, does Apples' is justification of Oranges joining in valid? Of course I have my own ideas, but first I would love to hear from you. You can either talk about clan generally, or if you want to give specific examples to discuss (for example wulf's statement about SS) that fine too. Let the intellectual trolling begin. :ugeek:
I think ZAFT is are all sub clans. A family clan would be like apocalypse alliance. Their clans are family.
Well I have to say that the difference between alliance and family is that a family wars together where allies are called in.
as far as my understanding is, all ZAFT clans are their own individual main clan, all under ld? don't quote me on that though Family clans will always support you. Alliances could have allies on both sides and won't support you. Blood alliances > regular alliances. You'll help out all allies when warring non allies. However when one blood alliance is warring a regular alliance you'll back up your blood alliance.
I think a sub-clan means you are underneath the main clan. A training clan, an old pwar Osf clan, or a war clan. A family clan could be two clans of equal strength and similar purposes.
Okay.
A family clan would be anything thats equal to all of its other family clans and the sub clans would be anything below it. So WiT and SS are both below WiG and iG and WiG is below iG. But WiT and SS are both equals pretty much, it's just overflow. SS/WiT -> WiG -> iG
Sub clans are a lower level of the main clan. Usually full of smaller members that when reached a sufficient level can join the main clan. Family clans are clans of somewhat equal strength, just different branches. ZAFT and 7DS being prime examples. Allied clans are other friendly clans that will come to your aid in the event you need it, but are not obligated to, and blood clans are friendly clans that will come to your aid no matter what. In my opinion anyway.
U have a point I guess all is fair in this game so what does it matter subclan/ ally clan/ blood brothers/ family. Doesn't matter in war ur gonna get hit๎ .
Allied clan : different founder, different management, but already have communication and agreement to become a friend. example : osiris and Ig is allied clan, when one clan goes to war, the other clan may or maynot join up on request. Family clan : different founder, but same management, example : apocalypse, zaft. When one clan goes to war, other clan tend to join the war Subclan: same founder, same management but the other clan is for smaller stat/trainingschool etc. example : garuda army and garuda junior
Yup, 5 clans, 10 clans, 15 clans, who cares, still real family. They know eachother so well. I mean 1000 players, who doesnt have that many on follow?๎. Lolol
You're making this entirely too complicated and splitting hairs IMHO. Each clan has its own understanding of where it stands with its family / alliance / sub clan. Poke the bear and see where they draw the line, then make a giant QQ thread about how you're getting your back door smashed in because "they couldn't take us on their own without help". I've warred clans with "blood alliances" on their clan page that wouldn't touch us with a 10 foot pole. I've also warred clans that had "alliances" and saw them jump up as soon as the first whack took place. It all depends on who you're dealing with.
