So, FanFic, tonight's the night for poetry. My thoughts often wander down the well-trodden path of the "Why are we here?" question, so I wrote a short, light poem about it. Here it is, it's not the usual KaW "Ugh, my life sucks and I cry myself to sleep every night" kind of poetry, but I laughed at it, so maybe you will too. I find myself sitting, On an earth that's boldly living, While Gaia herself lies musing, On why it was placed here. And those who ask the question, Or who offer a mild suggestion, Are dismissed as wanting attention, But the answer is never heard. So I must settle with the conclusion, That the entire earth under a delusion, But I must make the allusion, To the fact it knows nothing at all. I'll probably end up writing deeper things in the future, but tonight I thought I'd settle with that. Enjoy!
Before I go to bed, I thought I'd post another. This has a slightly uneven rhythm, but I like the story behind it. Forgive me if it's incomprehensible, but it's 3 am and I'm trippin'. ================== A man stands on the deck of a ship, Setting sail for unknown lands, From cold, the boat's sails drip, With glee the man rubs his hands. Through hail, through sleet, The boat sails true, But it could never get past you. The man's heart stopped, He stood, deathly pale, This storm was of a different tale. The ship struck rock, And the man fell, Wishing he were back at the dock. He woke up, face down in the sand, His head hurt as bad as hell, He got up, the storm was gone, But he felt sad somehow. You swept through my life, Like a storm on the sea, It was fun while it lasted, true, But now that my ship has run aground, Life seems empty without you. ============== Yup.
Don't try to get it, I can barely understand it myself. I wasn't quite... All there when I wrote it.
