Charm City

  1. Violence begets violence
And ignorance just does the same
I watch my city break out into riots
And our pharmacies go up in flames
I watch as idiots try to tell me about it
And act like they can relate
When they know nothing about this city
Except what they read on the planes
Charm City? More like Harm City
More like wake up in the dark city
Got no love for this farcity
The cops and thugs are at war, shitty
    From both ends
    There's no end
This fire is fueled by both men
    Color irrelevant both sinned
And what have we learned from ignorance
    This is my city
    You just watching
    So just keep your thoughts
    But please stop talking

  2. Nice.. Very worth reading.

  3. Nicely written but the message of your poem seems to be 'do nothing whilst you watch the world burn'?

  4. I'm going to have to re-watch The Wire

  5. As well written as ever. Strait up sounds like Baltimore. My buddy is from Bay area and kinda sounds how he'd describe his city."A city in shambles"

  6. Even though im not a resident of Baltimore anymore, i still consider it my city.

Its a sad sight to see.

  7. Easy to destroy, hard to rebuild

  8. But, does that poem mean that 'you don't know my life, you don't know the hard life of the world'? If you don't mind me asking.....

  9. Judging by the last few bars, hes addressing the ppl that are talking too much and telling us he loves his city and naysayers need to shut up.

  10. pretty close.

I'm also saying that people like the media reporters, and the "professional protesters" do nothing but fan the flames to fill their own pockets or justify their own causes. Speaking about things they know nothing about. This is a war fueled by ignorance on both ends of the spectrum and nobody is winning.

  11. Oh, um...............
    ok then..............

  12. Crazy times...

    Lots of disinformation.

I remember all the stories from '68. My grandfather had to sit on the porch with a shotgun and his pit bull in Woodberry. My grandmother made sandwiches for the national guard. They sent my aunts to deliver.

This is what happens when you let people get into the heads of your children.

I'll be there. Stay safe Baltimore!

  13. I didn't know you were from around here. Small world eh?

  14. O_O

    well written mate!
