Now that the title has undoubtedly gotten your attention, I'd like to take your time to discuss changing the KaW censor to what I feel is a vastly improved one. I've recently started playing a newish mmo on my phone called The Infinite Black. They too have a filter, but instead of the generic stars, it changes those awful swears into kid friendly things. The infamous B word and the ruder term for feces becomes bacon, the dreadful F word becomes "I respect" and so on. I would love to see ATA implement this into kaw, as it would make chat a bit more interesting if everything wasn't just a group of stars. Pros: Stated above. Cons: Can't think of any, honestly. No support. With the stars i can guess what they mean ( kinda obvious sometimes) and get their full voew on whateber it is they are saying. With things such as bacon and i respect, it will look like they are mumbling nonsense. It's filtered already no need to change it.
Haha i'd love to see this. But would people bypass more often, cause they can't express the word they want, if this was the case?
That's definitely a possibility, and I would add that to. the cons if I had PC, but if they're going to bypass the new filter who's to say they wouldn't have bypassed the old one?
I feel the stars, in a way, are a bypass because we can all assume what they're saying. This might eliminate that, which is a positive thing! Support
I think it would be hilarious! If it changes it to the same phrases than I don't think we have to worry about not being able to translate. I mean someone raging and suddenly saying "I respect so and so!" We will know it was altered. People will always bypass. Its like those movies they edit for Tv. You have to laugh at how ridiculous some of the edits are.
