Prologue: "What is it that you seek?" the voice asked me. Through the fog of my mind, I couldn't tell who was speaking. Female, maybe, but I couldn't think straight. Pull it together, I thought to myself. You can do this. "Please answer my question. We do not have much time. Why do you haunt us?" the voice questioned. The voice, ever present, was relentless. If I could describe the voice, it would be politely malicious. "Haunt you?" I countered, "If there is any haunting going on, it is you who is haunting me!" Is that rain? Yes, it appears to be rain. At noon? That's odd. Sunshine also? What's going on? Where am I? What is this voice? How...? As my thoughts start to cloud again, the voice asks me, "Now, isn't that better? To just not think about what awaits you? Now, answer my questions." That voice is so soothing. It calms me, just like her voice did. Wait... Her! "Let me out!" I scream. As I struggle, the vines on my wrist that were holding me down break. Seeping blood, I know recognize my beautiful prison. The memories start to flow back, back before the time before time. The time I became... Celestial!
Chapter 1: The Dream- "Robert? Telephone call!" my mom calls to me. I run down stairs and I take the phone from her. "Robert Kelse, speaking!" I say into the phone. "Hey, Rob!" my buddy, John Gart, says. "I'm off all weekend, so do you want to go fish? I can go Friday or Saturday. Your choice." "Umm, I'm gonna have to take you up on the Saturday deal. I've kind of got a date." "Oh, let me guess," John snickers over the line, "Your going with Angel, to our favorite lake, and your taking the last stash of our soda that we have. Am I right?" "Okay, you're over way too often, John. How did you know?" "I'm a freaking genius, that's why," he laughs. "Okay, okay. I'll see you on Saturday, then?" "Yep! See you soon!" He hangs up. Hearing John talk about Angel makes me miss her comforting company. Her perfect strawberry-blonde hair with a slight wave, the freckles on her nose, her sun-kissed skin, her full lips and perfect white teeth. Whoa, man. Snap out of it, Rob. You're going to calm down, and go to bed. Thinking this, I run to the shower, quickly scrub off, then hop in bed. Hoping tomorrow will come faster, I close my eyes to sleep. I had a dream once I closed my eyes. I was in a huge, thick forest, with fog everywhere. I turn, and I see an opening in the fog that looks like a tunnel of thick mist. Walking through, I come into a small clearing. In the center, there was a tree with silvery- green leaves. A figure suddenly steps from behind the tree. It is casting a bright glow from its extremities, so I can't even look straight at it. The figure speaks in a voice of a heavenly flute. "Find me at the Sacred Glade in the center of the Forest of Uln. There you shall find me, and then you shall receive your blessing." I am suddenly jolted awake by a shock of recognition. I sit there, sweating, wondering why some dream would suddenly make me want to go to a place as God-forsaken as Uln.
