Characters: Dad Son Ch. One Seven years ago today, was the happiest and the worst day of my life. That was the day my son was born and the day the nukes fell. I guess We underestimated North Korea. The first city that got hit was the one my father lived in, Portland, Oregon. Next was Seattle, then LA. My city was hit last, New York. Jenny had been at the hospital and I took my son home early. My wife, Jenny was incinerated immediately I would've been too if I hadn't have left. Due to the nuclear blast that destroyed half of new york on the day of my son's birth, he is a bit deformed. Over his left eye, there is a lot of swelling and one leg is bigger than the other, causing a major limp, but when I see him, I don't see my deformed son, I see the baby he once was. I live in what's left of new york along with about a thousand other survivors. We have run out of food and we're almost out of bottled water, so most people have either committed suicide or turned to cannibalism. Not a day goes bye when I see a man eaten alive. That is an image I would like to keep out of my son's mind.
