Spoilers contained Captain america. Pure holier than thou. Known throughout the world as a symbol of hope, truth justice and the American way. Not the one that flies. The other one. Jack Kirkby and Joe Simon created the character of captain America after fleeing the German oppression of the Jews. This guy Having arrived in America cartoonists Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, created the first appearance of cap in Captain America Comics #1 (cover dated March 1941) from Timely Comics, a predecessor of Marvel Comics Cap is known to most as Steve Rogers the super soldier. A run of the mill runt that would never qualify for the armed forces due to poor health. This is shown quite creatively in the captain america the first avenger movie. The super soldier granted extraordinary strength by a unique serum. Aligned with the allies fighting the axis powers and hydra a division of a censored former German political movement. Yes it's a new shield. Don't ask. Now this betrayal occurs only in the current comic format. The marvel MCU has not stated whether it will carry over the theme. Which would be highly shocking if they did. So in brief. How did this betrayal occur. Writer nick Spencer has revealed a childhood hero. A Jewish symbol of everything that is pure and good of America, created by two that fled the oppression. Is in fact a double agent and a long time member of hydra. I won't reveal the scene. But cap presumably murders his former friend. Now considering the reveal. And that hydra are portrayed as a former division of unsaid censored German political movement. My question is this. Has marvel gone too far. Have they betrayed the creators of the character? Have they betrayed the fans? And have they sabotaged their own MCU with such controversy or will this be seen as a move to justify the current civil war story line in the movies.
Re: Nick Spencer's betrays captain America I always knew it. I should have voiced my suspicions years ago.

Re: Nick Spencer's betrays captain America Considering ironman is a womanising drunk. You may have a point. Unfortunately thor dies. That said. Personally I find this totally disgusting. It's like peeing on the grave of his creators.
Re: Nick Spencer betrays captain America Always knew there was something off about the captain. Black Widow however Well mainly Scarlett Johansson aka My future ex wife
Re: Nick Spencer betrays captain America I think that a lot of people are overreacting. It's not even in the main universe, relax...
Re: Nick Spencer betrays captain America According to marvel this is the main comic and new outlook for captain America in the comic world at least in a story designed over the last two years to reflect modern politics in America. It has yet to be revealed whether it will translate to the movies. So sorry. Yes main universe.
Re: Nick Spencer betrays captain America Honestly if it doesn't happen in the 616 universe then I don't care But I just think overall people are overreacting
Re: Nick Spencer betrays captain America Of course people are overreacting they have Twitter and junk.. They need to keep things fresh, and finding out that Captain America is a German spy sells issues.. Plain and simple
