Once apon a time there was a boy who lived in a shack beside a lake in Michigan. The boy didn't come out and no one knew his name. The boys parents were killed in a car accident 4 years ago while coming home from the hospital. The boys mom had reoccurring brain tumors and wasn't expected to live longer than two months. The family was very poor and couldn't afford much more than a loaf of bread the old rusty beetle and the clothes they had. When the boys parents never returned the boy began to worry. They had no phones so the boy couldn't contact his parents. He became worried and tired and sad. The boy cried until his eyes ran dry. He didn't know what to do, where to go he had no friends because no one liked him and his parents were the only family he had. As the night grew longer the boy became lonelier. He began imagining things he'd never seen before until he fell asleep. He woke up early the next morning and rushed to his parents room but was disappointed to see they weren't there. He had school in an hour his least favorite place to be. Sense he had no friends he had no one to stick up for him. As he got ready he started to deny the fact his parents might not come back. He made himself believe that his parents just didn't make it home in time or were still at the hospital. As the hour went by the boy kept imagining possibilities as he got ready. He wiped his teeth with a rag because he couldn't afford a tooth brush. Then he grabbed his books and headed out for the school bus. He was the only one that was picked up at his stop because no one lived In that area. As he walked on the bus driver gave him bad looks. The other kids made fun of him telling him he smelled like sewage because he didn't have a shower. They made fun of his sagging eyes because he didn't get enough sleep. They made fun of how skinny he was because he was starved. As he sat down and the bus began to drive he looked out the yellow dirty window and tried to drown out the noise. When the boy got to school. He was pushed and shoved to his first period class. As the day went on he became depressed. In his math class his tea her asked him what was wrong and he said his parents never came back from the hospital. The teacher gave his an understanding look and resumed teaching. When it was time for lunch a classmate if his took things too far. He shoved the boy to the ground grabbed his greasy hair and asked him. Do you know why your parents didn't come back as he pulled tighter. Because they don't love you and they never will. Who could love a disgusting brat like you. Everyone around the boy started laughing at him. He didn't know what to do so he just sat there and began to bawl while people trampled over him to get to lunch. As the day ended and he got on the bus he was called more names and shoved nor and more. When the bus reached his stop he got off as the doors slammed behind him. He walked home with tears in his eyes. Hoping that maybe. Just maybe his parents would be home like he hoped they would. He check every crack and corner of the house but his parents weren't to be found. Enraged he began bashing his head in the cracked walls as tears ran down his eyes. He'd had enough. He went outside and tried to calm himself by skipping stones on the lake. It wasn't working so wrapped up in his anger he picked up a thin flat stone and began carving it. The boy didn't show up at the bus stop for weeks. He wasn't at school and his parents hadn't come back yet. No one knew where he was and no one really cared. Until finally three weeks later he arrived at the bus stop. As the he got onto the bus everyone was silent because they were looking at his arms. There were deep scars running up and down his arms. No one know what had happened. No one cared to ask. But for once no one said anything. No one bothered him that day at school either. No one talked to him looked at him noticed he was even there. He thought he might have been finally given a break until the next day someone called him a name and the rest of the kids followed. From there on out every day there were more and more cuts and more and more scars. This happened for days until a new girl showed up at his bus stop. The boy had never seen the girl before. She was beautiful we'll dressed and looked like one of the richer kids in town. When he got into the bus the girl sat next to him. At first they were quiet then the girl mentioned asked of his name. He just shrugged and stated out the window. She asked if he had any family and he just shook his head because he'd given up on his parents. She looked at his arms and asked if he'd done it. He nodded and kept staring out the window. The girl asked why and the boy didn't reply. She then said. You know scars last forever but pain has only time. The boy looked at her confused. What would this have meant. Scars last forever but pain has only time. The girl continued to sit by him on the bus and he continued gaining scars. Then one day when he was being pushed around the girl stood up for him and yelled at the other kids. Then she lifted him up and asked if he was ok he nodded. That day when they were dropped off the girl said follow me and took the boy to her secret fort. She told him she didn't think the other kids were right to pick on him like that. That he didn't deserve it then she leaned in on him and kissed him. All of the sudden the boy didn't feel sad anymore. He was happy and forgot about the rest of the world. All he could think of was the girl. How she talked to him. Stood up for him. Just kissed him. Then he realized what she meant by scars last forever but pain has only time. He didn't feel pained anymore he felt loved again. Someone really cared. As for the boy and the girl...
