Are defensive buildings good for wars?

  1. Basically want to know whether defensive buildings were good for wars and why they are good/bad.

  2. More defence=less pots

  3. They counter all of the att builds , and there great for plunder for some reason

  4. Yes they are. When you are low on troops or spies, they have a static defense which means you are always protected.

  5. I like the TL's for plunder and great deff . Pluse like dude said less deff Potts

  6. He means defensive towers. I think.

  7. Yeah, ToC and the defense one. If I were an attack build, half my LL would be those babies in a war

  8. Tower are great for certain builds, but have no plunder value . But they also have great deff . But like I said in certain builds they are almost nesecery . Personally i don't like them because of plunder

  9. Yes /resolved

  10. Best defence is offence. Though tower as far as I'm aware reduces pot loss

  11. Spy def tower is critical if you are warring spies (you will be). Check out any of the big swaggin guys. They all have 2-5 towers up. It's not so much about less pots, but more about watching a huge spy fail a bunch of times, thereby wasting buttloads of his spies.

I don't think defensive towers are worth it, certainly not more than a couple. It's far wiser to have the hitting power to go up against the bigger builds.

If you had half d towers, it would be hard for someone to hit you, but you will certainly almost never win against a build = to yours, and once they fail a few runs on you they will stop trying n go for an easier target. So you would be twirling your thumbs in a strip war, and reduced to hitting little guys and making peanuts in a system war

  12. Spy defensive towers are great, as a lot of the actions against are via spy. Pertaining your build however, a spy defense is good for a hitter. My personal opinion is that defensive towers arn't the best. They give u no troops which means no plunder. Although as missbehave said, no troops means no loss in strength

  13. Towers (def) really depend on how the war is going.

Yes, they are terrible for plunder; you have no ally bonus or plunder from them so it is a wasted land as far as that goes.

But if the war goes turtle and you have enough towers it can stop you being targeted by the bigger players. Also, if your clan is dominating (all opposition pinned) you can relax and pick off players easily. Safely knowing that from pin they will fail when they attack.

All builds have their merits and it is only by trying them that you can see which is the one for you.

  14. with the release of 4 new potions which are the strongest ones, it doesnt matter if u are defensive build or not... if the attacker is using those new pots on you most definately you are going to loose.

  15. Only if u dont really want to attack  

  16. That's not true. I attack non stop when in a system war. As long as you have attack builds to match you can still do plenty of damage.

Good point with the new pots tho. I've had my towers since way before they came out. Might be time to reconsider if there is no def pot to match up. Nice of the devs to release a pot which makes an entire building obsolete!

  17. Large numbers of towers kill lots of atk troops- so that's nice if you don't have 100 mil BFA on def. fewer successful Atks. TL are very good for plunder.

I think until you build adequate BFA towers essential for rw or osw. Once you are in the 100 mil BFA stat range for def, or 30 mil for spy def- why bother unless you throw up 6-10 spy def towers for extended osw.

In short- go big or go home with towers. 2 or 4 is not going to stop a big atk build with lots of BFA from getting through, or slow down a big hansel much.

  18. Having a tower does not help pot loss, if someone tries to attack and fails, you lose a pot for the defense anyways.

  19. Depends in context... If you have 15 def towers- a full unload might be 11 hits, and unless you are top 200- half those will fail.

So yeah- less pots from a single unload. More pots, actually if you are getting teamed, because you take longer to pin if you aren't smart enough to do it yourself.
