Today is a sad day for the American people. Our black youth can no longer be safe going to gas stations pointing fire arms, can no longer be safe slamming car doors on police officers whilst they march down the street. Never mind selling "loosies" (individually unwrapped cigarettes) that is practically an automatic execution order. Late last night, an unidentified black teen was mercilessly gunned down by police after him and a friend saw a police cruiser sitting in a gas station. So what's the logical thing to do? Well they decided to walk over to it pointing a handgun, and the officer took it upon himself to brutally gun him down. Here's the nbc article for you: A cop fatally shot a teenager at a gas station late Tuesday just miles from Ferguson, Missouri, police said, setting off angry clashes between demonstrators and officers. St. Louis County Police confirmed in a statement that an officer from the city of Berkeley had "fired several shots," saying the cop was "fearing for his life" after a male allegedly pulled out a handgun and pointed it at him. A handgun was recovered at the scene, police added, saying that the officer has been placed on administrative leave while an investigation is being carried out. Police did not confirm the victim's identity, but released surveillance video showing what they said shows the teen pointing a gun at the officer. The timestamp on the video suggests the incident lasted almost a whole minute and shows someone raising an arm — but is not clear enough to show a gun being used. Berkeley is just two miles from Ferguson, Missouri, where the fatal police shooting of unarmed black teen Michael Brown set off violent protests that spread nationwide. Early Wednesday, an angry crowd of about 200 gathered at near the scene of the shooting and there were angry clashes with police. "I can see about 50 cop cars, they're fighting and scuffling, the highway is blocked with cars, people are being arrested," said photographer Bradley Rayford. "Trash cans are on fire." A small fire began at a QuikTrip across the street from the Mobil but quickly went out, said John Henry, reporter with NBC affiliate KDSK. The protest thinned away by daybreak, and St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar told an early morning news conference that four people were arrested. He said that bricks and what were believed to be fireworks were thrown at officers, but cops did not use tear gas. One officer was being treated in a hospital emergency room for injuries to his lower leg sustained while running away, he said, and another was treated at the hospital after sustaining injuries to his face from a brick. Belmar said it was "pretty disturbing" that what appeared to be a firework had exploded next to a gas pump. "To come there carrying explosive devices is not safe for our city," he said. End of article. Oh a new article, that obviously makes it true. It couldn't be the skewed agenda of the media or anything. The black peoples and the people screaming racism are the true racists. Hardly anybody else gives a ****. The fact of the matter is people die everyday, there are police mistakes, but for the most part they are an effective means to keep peace. TROLL
Lol troll. Then the air of this thread was accomplished. My stance on this is that the police in all three of these majorly published instances were all justified. Did these three people deserve to die? Of course not, no human deserves to die, but I'd much rather see a police officer be able to spend his Christmas safe with his family rather then them having to arrange a funeral this Friday. While people can claim excessive force or what have you, it's merely a chance at attention for these people. The rioting, the rebellion, that sure speaks boat loads for peace, right?
Just three words of advice in two forms to these idiots..... OBEY THE LAW! FOLLOW POLICE DIRECTION! ..... Oh and be accountable for your own actions
But on the other hand, civil rights, movement, and attention isn't achieved without violence. Regardless of the merits, this would never had made news if retaliation wasn't given. I am not justifying the retaliation, but rather pointing out that reform begins with actions. And these people want reform.
Why is this such a confusing topic for people? It's simple. Sometimes innocent people ARE shot by cops. Not all police officers are perfect, good people. However, that doesn't mean all shooting are unjust. Sometimes people try to hurt other people, and it's a cops job to stop that.
Op, if you had a 9 year old daughter and a random guy stole her out of the back seat of your car while you were at a gas station and kid-napped her and raped her, wouldn't you feel he needed to die? This is in regards to your post saying "no one deserves to die".
After doing some further digging, it turns out the kid had a gun. Here's to hoping the security camera footage tells us more details.
Who cares? I live in chicago and dozens of people get shot and unjustly murdered here every week and no one talks about it. People are bad and evil. This is nothing new.
Two wrongs do not make a right. He'd deserve life imprisonment which I'm fairly certain would be a lot worse then a simple lethal injection.
person raises gun at police = police shoot armed person first End of story. Thanks St Louis County Police for protecting the public from this idiot.
