US TV channel Fox News has made an on-air apology after a terrorism pundit described Birmingham as a no-go area for non-Muslims. Steven Emerson, billed as an expert on terrorism-related issues, was described by the prime minister, David Cameron, as “a complete idiot” and was widely mocked by Twitter users after informing viewers the city was “totally Muslim” and was not visited by people of other faiths. Fox News presenter Julie Banderas told viewers: “Over the course of this last week we have made some regrettable errors on air, regarding the Muslim population in Europe, particularly with regard to England and France. “This applies especially to discussions of so-called no-go zones, areas where non-Muslims allegedly aren’t allowed in, and police supposedly won’t go. “To be clear, there is no formal designation of these zones in either country, and no credible information to support the assertion there are specific areas in these countries that exclude individuals based solely on their religion. “There are, certainly, areas of high crime in Europe, as there are in the United States and other countries, where police and visitors enter with caution. “We deeply regret the errors and apologise to any and all who may have taken offence, including the people of France and England.” Emerson issued a string of apologies to British media outlets over his “terrible, inexcusable error” during a broadcast last weekend and has also donated £500 to the city’s children’s hospital.
And your point is? Because one American is an idiot makes all Americans idiots? Seems like the same kind of logic that this clown would use.
He is classed as an 'expert' in America. Displays the amazing standards of your country which uses freedom through terrorism.
He is classed as an expert by Fox News. That would be like me classifying you as an expert on anything at all.
Fox news are the most recognised television providers in the US, if they are complete idiots as you say it would figure that a vast majority of Americans watch and believe their broadcasts.
Numerous studies have shown that Fox "News" is one of the worst ways to be informed about the world, behind MSNBC, CNN, and The Daily Show (I wish I was kidding, I'm not) By using Fox News as your primary source of accusation your thread becomes irrelevant
A staggering 8% of American adults watch Fox news daily. America is full of idiots that watch, listen and believe this crap. quote="Sholron"]Numerous studies have shown that Fox "News" is one of the worst ways to be informed about the world, behind MSNBC, CNN, and The Daily Show (I wish I was kidding, I'm not) By using Fox News as your primary source of accusation your thread becomes irrelevant[/quote]
The same can be said of every news source out there. All are biased and have agendas. Each caters to it's listening audience or it's governments mandates. No real truth out there anymore whatsoever. Baghdad bob has left his legacy, now each follows suit. I've visited and lived in many countries. Each brings something special and unique to the table, yet each chooses to spend it's time bashing everyone else. Sad state, but blame the current generations that rely on "instant gratification" in their news, want the headlines that excite them. The good majority of the world would turn the news off if they actually reported the truth, would claim it was too boring.
