Ally Market- What are good stats...

Discussion in 'Strategy' started by whorn, Mar 6, 2012.

  1. I'm making this thread as a follow on to HAV0C's sticky thread. His price list is good, but there isn't an indication of what stats currently ought to go with those prices... I am an average shopper with average motivation. I want allies that are valuable. I want allies that sell. Here is the list, and if you want to know more about how I came up with the numbers, you can read about that following the list.

What I did, which is laborious and neurotic and won't be repeated ever most likely, is entered the basic stats for all allies on both of my accounts- roughly 600 data points. I then calculated the total stats and price/stat for each ally, and made a scatter plot. I then used Excel's handy regression tool to calculate the best fit curve- and backed into the max price/BFA one should pay at each of the prices. From that, you can then calculate the MINIMUM stats at each price level. I hid the intermediate step- because from a quick and dirty- who cares? The formula for the regression is on the chart below, if anyone cares to use it to calculate the min stats on some OTHER prices.

This method is not without flaws... For one thing, inflation makes sure is of limited use in the future, and for another- there are clearly variations among players about how motivated they are to find the BEST possible price. But, I think it's good enough for the HCBC player who doesn't want to spend more than an hour or two a day filling all their ally slots. Finally, the list is somewhat skewed toward the minimum, because it took approximately 6 hours to do the data entry, over a 24 hour period... So, I lost a lot of the best allies in that timeframe. Good to know, because if you DON'T want allies to sell, you want to use these prices as a hard maximum.

If you want them gone inside 24-48 hours, then the stats shown for the next price up the ladder should be a hard minimum. In other words, buy a 196,310 stat ally priced at 5,006,098,289.

Happy hunting. Hope this is useful... I'm sure some will think this is worthless, you are welcome to your opinions.

  2. Nice job, I usually just buy 19, 40 and 93bil as it takes long enough to check if those 3 price-ranges are active.

  3. It could be stickied for a while, I guess... I think the data will eventually expire from the standpoint it may take too long to find allies with those minimums. But, if you believe the ally market constantly inflates, those minimums are good indefinitely.

At least, until T5 comes out the the leaderboard liquidates their holdings in a power grab. BWAHAHAHAHA!

  4. From these statistics, in underpriced by 25b. I personally don't think this is too accurate, it's in the ball park but not as spot on. Like you stated, it will move as the ally market changes every day. For the most part, good info mate. Well done.

  5. Its a very good list, thanks for taking the time to do it.

  6. It's pretty dang spot on slayer:).

  7. Didn't mean to hit post. Great job OP. I think it is very accurate for a base pricepoint!! Deserves sticky in my opinion. Good reference

  8. From what i see not exactly :p for the point of it changing so constantly. It's definitely in that general range, it's not spot on though. I would give it a two thumbs up no doubt though.

  9. Very accurate prices for attack builds. Hansels have a slightly steeper price curve, but great work nonetheless. 

  10. How does buying a 196,310 stat ally at 5,006,098,289 help or sell within 48 hours? I didnt really get all that with the graph

  11. My stats are gud. Hire meh 

  12. The numbers are fairly accurate and looks good with a nice effort behind it.

I however wouldn't sticky due to ranges inflating with time and spys/mix builds being in different price ranges usually. That would through off things a bit for a new person to the market who might not realize the different builds cost different amounts for combined stats.

If you could maybe do monthly or bi-monthly updates and have at least two list (atk build/spy build) of price ranges then I would be all for a sticky.

But in the end if anyone hits the market for a bit, it's not to difficult to see what's a good stat for a price

  13. I generally shop at 100b -200k combined, although I have multiple accounts and shop off my battlelist for my main- at any price, I can ensure they are aomewht active that way

  14. @darth- the graph is just a plot of what's left after ~a day it took to do the DE (more than 600 records)... As a result, the better stat and more active allies aren't in the graph... It's biased to the downside. In other words, when you look at the regression, you see outliers pulling the curve up, and very few outliers at lower price/stat values. So, if you are getting a 5 bil Allie @200k stats chances are pretty good it moves quickly. It's not absolute just a probability.

  15. To bad next week this will totally be out dated an antiquated.

  16. Nice I'm 110b underpriced 

  17. Well like all things caveat emptor... They're aren't a lot of data points over 200 bil so pricing is less accurate.

@A1... If you believe in ally market inflation, it's actually a better guide over time if you trade lots of allies...

  18. If you trade a lot of allies you wouldn't need a guide to tell what stays are good at a price
