So there is a lot of debate out there over which is better. The Abyssal Blade or Diamondiferous. I would like to know if anyone has actually done any testing on both of them to prove which is better. The obvious answer would be that the Abyssal is better, since it says in most cases it gives a higher bonus. But what I would like to know is, the 10% bonus, is it 10% of attack power at full troops or 10% attack power of current troops. Meaning, does the Abyssal blade become weaker as your troops get used up or is it a percentage of total troop strength. Diamondiferous gives a set amount of bonus, so it definitely does now get weaker as troops are used. If anyone has tested this and can prove which is better please post here. I know there are a lot of people who would like to know. Thank you for any input this post receives.
This all depends on the size of the user, a hansel would benefit more from the feather (can't spell it sorry) but an LB player would benefit hugely from the abyssal blade.
Skimming- you hit twice with your attack troops, wait until you regen, and repeat. Best used with an attack build where the money difference between empty troops and full troops is large.
I am looking for hard evidence that one is better than the other. In my trials with each I find that the abyssal blade is better all around. With the blade equipped in the even of a fail on any of the last four attacks my troop loss is lower than with Diamondiferous. So these numbers tell me that the abyssal blade is better overall. But I am still looking for feedback from other players tests.
It really does depend on your build. But you also need to take into consideration what you are doing at the time. Abyssal sword gives 10% to atk and spy atk. And as your troops and spies go down, so does the bonus provided by the sword. The diamondifirous sword gives a static bonus of 5.5mil atk and 2.1mil spy atk(enchatable up to a 10mil atk and 6mil spy attack). Examples: As a Hansel build, the diamond sword give you a better chane at beatings an eb while attack do to the little bonus the abyssal sword would give your atks. However when in PvE the abyssal sword make your spy atk strength much much higher than the diamond sword. If you're fighting from pin, the diamond sword will benefit you better as its a static bonus. All the equipment have their perks. You just gotta figure out when and where to use which piece of equipment to get the best results you can.
Using the feather on a Hansel is most beneficial. That being said, towards the end of your unload on an attack build the feather would provide more stats than the blade. Skimming in any shape or form is more beneficial to both attack builds and hansels, this is due to the coding where the closer your troops are to full regen the more "damage you do" ( *note this damage is not shown to you, it's completely different from the value you see when hitting an epic)the more you get back from the epic when it's completed. It applies to war for obvious reasons, more troops, higher strength, more pvp damage. It applies to hitting osfs, mainly towards attack builds to keep a relatively constant value of plunder, hansels also benefit from this, just not as drastically.
This from my notes I copy and paste. I'll always call it a feather, it's much faster and easier to type, and everybody knows what you're talking about. Feather is better unless you have high stats and skim, if you fully unload and wait for full regen then feather is better. Swords 10% bonus is based on troop level. If you have 13mil attack stats at full troops and all balanced builds then you have 26 attacks. Each attack you do will reduces the strength of the sword by 500k. So after 6 attacks you have a 10mil bonus. The feather max enchanted is 10mil static attack bonus, meaning it will be 10mil bonus at full troops or 1 troop. Anybody that tells you otherwise doesn't know what they are talking about.
I also forgot to mention that as a Hansel when unloading spy actions, having the blade equipped would be more beneficial than not.
It's actually an easy equation. Take your attack and multiply it by .1 to find 10% of your attack. If its higher than your feather sword there's your answer. Again if you skim or cycle your units the blade is better by far if it's close. But if your the unload kinda guy use the feather, if your last attack in a unload is lower than what the blade gives you instead of the feather use the feather. You may even find switching it halfway through Is better. There are no tests needed to find this. One simple equation. (/)_^) lack of intelengence these days........
The blade has a percentage based attack. For now the user DeathTurd's diamond sword is stronger than his blade. My blade is stronger than the diamond sword with the diamond slightly ahead with spy bonus.
Krypton. To add to what kryp said. When he's says multiple times your attack he doesn't mean(example) the 4.2mil attack your stats show. It's in reference to the actually strength that your build gives you. Say it's 210mil attack strength, you'd get 21mil bonus at full troops when hitting with abyssal sword. At half way you'd be better off switching to feather. Anyways just wanted to throw that out there. Many don't know the difference between stats and strength.
I understand everything you are all saying. It is definitely not a lack of intelligence Krypt. I have tested unloads with both. The feather should have lower troop loss on a failed attack since its power does not decrease. But in all my tests on failed attempts on the last 4 hits say on FOD, any fails with the feather have higher troop casualties than the sword. It should not be this way since the feather should be better than the sword. So I say again, has anyone else done tests with the two weapons and gotten similar or varying results? Not just going by what the forums say.
And yes I made sure that all my attacks were done on the same stage of the EB. I didn't do something stupid like attack the life bar with the feather and the corrupt guardians with the sword. I made sure the conditions were the same for both weapons thru all unloads of testing. So why is the feather having more troop loss, meaning that my attack strength isn't as high as the sword?
