  1. A Noobs Guide To Beginning KaW. By xTheMasterx.
Version - (1.3 Updated with reset info.)

    It All Begins.

So you have come across the game of 'Kingdoms At War'.
You may have found it on your iDecvice, through facebook, through mochigames or maybe even the 'Kingdoms At War Conquest' on many other sites. All of these however are the same thing though they appear slightly different. The game is developed by a company called 'A Thinking Ape' (see website for more details) - http://www.athinkingape.com/. :)

    Getting Started.
So you've got Kingdoms At War running and you are thinking, 'Now what the hell should I do?'
Well let me advise you now KaW is not a game for the impatient, it requires a lot of strategy and hard work to get yourself a good reputation and some nice stats. So if you are that sort of impatient person who can't handle that then I suggest you stop playing now.

    However.
If you believe you are up to it then you better start learning.
So KaW is a game that can give you a bad reputation as well, most commonly known as the 'noob'.
Now believe me you do not want to become a noob in any way because nothing will ever work for you, so that is why you need to start reading this. :ugeek:

    Starting To Grow.
So you've got your 1 troop building and your 1 spy building (guild) up after you have completed the starting tutorial these are the basic buildings, keep them for now so you have at least some stats. (Stats found as the allie bonus stats, on computer are to the left of your profile as on the iDevice is under the 'Allie Bonuses' part of your profile)

So you've got your two buildings and now you want to know what to do next, well here's the important thing. On the 'World Chat' section of KaW you will see a lot of people asking for hires or rather spamming for hires. This is NOT what you should do unless you want to become that so dreaded 'noob' :? . What you need to do is you need to ask for a volley, no this does not mean spamming World Chat with 'I need a volley... Blah blah blah' It means maybe asking a couple of times.

So what even is a volley? Well a volley is where two (or more) players consistently hire you until you reach a desired price that they had agreed on, every time one of them hires you as an ally you gain a sum of gold for being hired. So yes you are getting free gold :D .

Then you think... 'Well what's in it for them?' well let me tell you a volley is a 3 way win scenario.
Player1 hires you then Player2 hires back, each time an ally is hired away from you, you are refunded some gold. So say Player2 started off with 6 billion he may have gained 1 billion from refunded gold in the volley. (Refunded gold is not accurate, just an example, see a ally hiring guide for accurate sums). Meanwhile as an ally you provide 'Ally Plunder' to your owner, so whenever Player1 attacks he might get 4 million ally plunder from having you as an ally. So basically in a volley everyone wins! ;)

In your volley the average gold gained is normally about 50-60 million, DO NOT spend this gold while you are being volleyed, save it until the volley has finsished. :!:

    Growing My Stats.
So, you have got your gold from your volley and you are thinking about what to do next.
Well the next few step is very important in the game, I'm not going to tell you what you SHOULD do, yet I am going to offer advice on how you can make it easier to grow.

When you are putting up your first buildings I suggest that you buy one lvl 3 Forge, Cathedral or Bestiary. Once you have upgraded it buy the next land and repeat until all your low lands have level 3 Bestiaries, Forges or Cathedrals on them.

When you are constructing your build I would suggest that you stick with one type of build, don't mix them all together just keep it simple and easy. (A guild is ok to have and I would recommend having one)

Buy an ally, save up for a 50-100 mil one and keep buying them until you have about 1 billion gold invested in allies, watch the amount of plunder you make go up it's amazing.

These tips are vital in your first steps of growth in KaW.

    Allies.
Allies are the most important part of KaW, without them you would make hardly anything.
A lot of people don't understand that allies are what earn you almost all of the plunder that you make. Ally investment is the most important investment in the game. So basically if you don't have allies your going to make next to nothing.

    What is ally plunder?
Ally plunder is the gold that your ally gives you each time you attack, when you attack it will show how much plunder you made, then underneath that how much your ally plunder gave, which depending on your stats could be A LOT.

So when I'm growing how much do I need invested in allies?
Before you LC I would recommend having about 1-1.5 bil in allies. I found that the easiest way was buying a lot of 100-150 million gold allies until i reached about 2 bil invested in allies.

Do I need an active ally?
No you do not need an active ally.
In fact when you purchase your ally I would recommend going back about 7-8 pages on the ally market and buying one from there, this way there will be a lot less chance that people will hire your ally away from you.
You really only need to start worrying about the activeness of your ally once you are investing in about 5 bil and higher ones, which by then I doubt you will need help any more :) .

So Now I'm Land Complete What Do I Do?
Well now that you are land complete there are many choices that YOU can make.

You may carry on with your same build as Tier 3.
You may change to a different build and begin Tier 3 differently.
You may choose to become hansel.
You may choose to become OSF.
    You might become an OAF.

    Reseting.

When some players LC (land complete) they decide to 'Reset', The 'Reset' button is located at the bottom of your profile. However the devs may disable it if they are monitoring your account. One can reset 15 times in total.
    So what does resetting do?
Resetting gets rid of all gold, buildings, lands, allies and pots.
However you do keep achievements, UNSPENT nobility points, pro packs and speakers.
Why would I want to reset?
Well there are a couple of reasons one would reset.
    1. You get a free name change of your choice.
    2. You get extra ally slots with each reset.
    3. You get mystical items that increase your stats only obtained by resetting.
    4. You just want to start KaW fresh and try a different build.
    5. People who reset r cool...

Once you have reset there is NO going back, so choose wisely.

There are heaps of choices to make and that is all up to you.
I suggest that you find a good protective clan as well so your growth is not interrupted.
Now you should start searching the forums for other ways to help you with your build, there's going to be one there that will help you.

    Thank-you For Reading My Guide!
I hope it was both enjoyable and helpful for those of you who needed it ;) .

Before you give me a hard time about something I may have missed please just bear in mind that this is the first guide I have made.

However, I would like people to tell me things I should include, or something I may have gotten incorrect as constructive criticism is very important.

    The KaW Glossary.

    Version-(1.2)

    Terms Frequently Used In Game.

OSF- OSF= Open Secret Farm, a member of the community who gives free gold(attacks) by having only spy attack and defence stats, so you can't lose. (OSF is now usually means as Open Spy Farm-Same thing.)

OAF- OAF= Open Attack Farm, a member of the community who has only attack and defence stats, so anyone with spys can't lose against them, normally OSFs use them as a source to gain gold. (Opposite of an OSF.)

Pw/Pwar- Pw or Pwar= Plunder War, a war set up where one side has attackers, the other side consists of about 4 members of whom are OSFs and OAFs, So you basically gain free gold from the war. War is then forfeited giving the OSF and OAF side all the war tax that was made.

PvE/EB- Player Vs Environment/Epic Battles, the new update that enables you to do epic battles in your clan against monster and hoard massive amounts of gold in short amounts of time.

WC- World Chat, the part of the chat sytem in game, it requires speakers which can be bought from the oracle, exchanged by nobility and users who use iDevices receive 5 free speakers a day. (Cap of 25.)

CC- Clan Chat, the chat in which members of your clan can all communicate, similar to world chat only clan members can view and use it however. (This does not require speakers.)

AC- Allie Chat, the chat in which you can communicate with any allies you own and also your owner.
(This once again does not require speakers.)

LB- Leader Board, the in game leader board in which you can view the strongest kingdoms and clan in the game.

Hansel- A person who has all spy buildings with a few attack buildings. (normally 1 or 2.) These players make the fastest money, (See a guide on hansels for more information.)

DTW- Acronym for Defender Too Weak, you get this message when you try to attack/spy someone and they either have no gold out or are under 20% of troops.
I hoped this guide helped you in understanding some vital terms in KaW :D

Please tell me if I may have left something out that you think is vital to know in game.
    Tyvm! :)

    Tyvm all!

    @Cool.
I ended up giving TC to Gin, it looks like gin has passed it down again.
I needed to grow and it was slowing me down to much.

    Tyvm.

  12. Re: A Newbs Guide To Beginning KaW Life. ~By Sgt-smash~

The ally numbers are a bit off. For Low lands LC T3 max plunder is roughly 4.5 bil. Maybe a little less, but close to that.

  13. Re: A Newbs Guide To Beginning KaW Life. ~By Sgt-smash~

Tyvm for that ^ I did realise my ally prices were off and was only using that for an example.
Also tyvm for the info on T3 Max Plunder, helps a lot!

  14. Re: A Newbs Guide To Beginning KaW Life. ~By Sgt-smash~

You need to add lc reset bonuses as a thought on what to do after getting lc

  15. Re: A Newbs Guide To Beginning KaW Life. ~By Sgt-smash~

Yes the extra 8% could really help in the future when they release more lands and buildings.

  16. Re: A Newbs Guide To Beginning KaW Life. ~By Sgt-smash~

I think you should make it clearer to them if you recommend investing the initial 50m in allies or upgrading buildings. Good work though
