25 years Wow. Sitting down for this. I just realized that this year is my 25 year High school reunion..... What on earth shall I do? Do I try to look up old friends? What will they be like? Am I more successful than them? Memory lane. ... Hall cops on patrol. Come on, show me your memories. They may not be 25 years ago, but we all have high school memories. Or maybe your parents and role models were not quite as honest about life and it surprised you somehow. Share your story, make us laugh.
Ahhhh high school. Started with me having too much fun, and ended with me being expelled. The good 'ol days.
I didn't like anyone at high school when I was there, I didn't bother going to any of my reunions, its been 35 years now.
Just looked on Google. The Simpsons were in season 2....they're still on TV so I can't be "that" old, right?
I remember one incident at high school, during vocational ed, there was a big push that "girls can do anything" rubbish. So they handed out big stickers like "give a girl a spanner", so we modified them, "give a girl UR spanner" and stuck them from our zippers and ran them down our thigh 6 of us got expelled
...didn't you say you did 20 something years in some public safety role after you left the military though? How many years were you active? ...JW I thought you were like late 50's or somethin lol
Why are you busting my chops? I have never lied or taken anything from you? If you must know then here....I co-oped in high school for safety. I was a certified firefighter my senior year. Going into my junior year, I was awarded a scholarship opportunity in a safety/health career field. I was allowed to leave during my junior and senior years for 3 hours a day to work at the firehouse. I joined the marines and continued to volunteer in several places as they moved me for duty stations... it's not unheard of for a certified and in shape marine to be allowed to volunteer you know. They happen to enjoy the extra help and it was great for the community. I also got free college credits paid for by north carolina, Virginia and Kentucky....there are alot of perks to being a volunteer. I also finished my associate degree in fire science and picked up my EMT and hazmat mat tech along the way. True story...I was selected because of my background to serve as a paid volunteer on several federal incidents involving train derailments, plane crashes and highway incidents by homeland security and FEMA. I am now retired...from active duty due to my medical conditions from combat and other indents in my life. I chose not to be a liability on major scenes any more and decided to hang up my helmet from public service, but I do stay connected through my current job at the postal service. It's a good job and I still get to save lives from bad people and or stupid idiots who refuse to follow shipping standards. Anthrax scares are still a thing we deal with because there are some kookoooo people out there....have I explained enough yet or do you need my blood type as well? Believe it or not there really are good people online not trying to be posers.....why don't you give people a chance before questioning everything they say. And also consider that you can have two jobs at once. I am now paid a retirement from my current state, have 3 years left before I may retire from my federal status and I sometimes work part time doing odd jobs or service hours in my community. People can do more than 1 thing at a time. Most kids now a days are just to damn lazy to work. So maybe it is hard for you to believe that hard work pays off, but I have paid my dues for my country, my community and my family. What have you done poo?
