  1. The Ballad of Cygnus the Great (and Marie the Fair)

"A pirate's life is in the seas,"
said Cygnus to the moon and stars.
"A pirate's soul is in the breeze
that brings the ocean to his scars."

    And pirate Cygnus surely was,
the greatest of the great, at worst,
and though he had all earthly things,
for something more did his heart thirst.

But quenched it was when first he saw
Marie, on burnished bow, at port
    in Termagant, where pirates live,
the roughest of the roughest sort.

Yet she stood out against the grime,
with mantle long and clothing bright,
a fleeting bird of beauty, she,
who'd never in her life alight.

He could speak not a word to her,
just pass and stare in reverence,
for soon he would leave Termagant,
though he knew not to where from hence.

And in the Sea of Shattering,
    he travelled slowly, plotting course.
    For treasures, riches, money, jewels!
    Enthusiasm Cygnus forced.

And though he knew not of her plans,
    Marie Antilla waited there,
with golden spyglass in her hands
and colored ribbons in her hair.

She slumbered in the Winter Isles,
for any vessel did she wait.
    That happenstance brought Cygnus there
    is evidence of vicious fate.

    They met between Wedjat and Set;
Marie was dead when all was done.
    But she died not a coward's death;
'twas one less bullet in her gun.

Her bullet found its way to him
through sail, hat, and finger guard
and though it didn't kill him there,
    it permanently left him scarred.

The Cygnus pirates seized the day
    with loss of life unparalleled,
but darker eyes were never seen
than when Marie's corpse was beheld.

He told his crew, "The bodies, dump
into the ocean; there they'll lie.
But dare not touch the body here."
He lifted her, still hurt, but spry.

On Wedjat did he bury her
as sun set and the stars appeared.
He sat with shovel on her grave
and tied her ribbons in his beard.

"A pirate's life is in the seas,"
said Cygnus to the moon and stars.
"A pirate's heart is in the breeze
that brings the ocean to his scars."

    Alaska/Photosynthetic

This is a challenge I will face,
A test I cannot shy away from.
    After all, I've survived nights before;
    Why should weeks be different?
I will keep the memory of the sun
Ingrained in my mind, in my heart.
For if I can forget it, what is
    Worth remembering in this world?
I pray my heart isn't photosynthetic,
That I don't shrivel for the lack of you...
So please forgive me if I want
To build up a reserve of sunlight!
But the dawn will come, and I
Know that it will be worth the night...
And I will wait for you,
    However long it takes.
And when I hear that sound
    And see that it's you,
    My heart will pound
And soar and explode and twist
And reform from the empty mess
That pumped my blood in your absence
And I will live and breathe
    And bask in your glow.
I mean, that's how it usually goes. ^_^

  6. With golden *** in her hands? 

  7. Btw, I freaking loved the first one.

  8.  That's golden spyglss... Did it censor that for you? XDXDXD o.o

  9. Yeah, can I post my own? Haha. Nice btw. ^.^~

  10. XD Henry and I have both used Cygnus on Pal... And thanks! ^_^ I'm glad you did! I think it's one of my best, and I totally dig ballads! Here's a non ballad one:

    For You

    What ghostly presents sit
At the edge of my mind,
    Taunting me with what I
    Might be now without you!
    Sometimes my mind shudders,
    Scared that its favorite drug,
    The Most Wonderful ___,
    Might have never touched it....
    I struggle to create
    A metaphor that can
    Accurately describe
Just what you are to me....
    If I were a rapist
    (Please remember I'm not!),
    You'd be my confidence,
The mad voice in my head.
    If I were a monarch
(I am, in this one game.),
    You'd be my majesty,
    The base of my power.
    These don't do you justice,
    These sad metaphors that
    Lack the feeling and the
    Strength I wish to convey.
But I will prove my thoughts
    With every word I say,
    I'll ever reinforce
    How amazing you are!
    So please continue to
Play me your song, for I
    Must confess that I love
It more than any I've heard.
    .οδ υοψ ταητ ενειλεβ οτ
    τναω ι ηχυμ ρενεωοη
,ψαω εμας εητ λεεφ τνοδ υοψ
    εσυαχεβ ,σεμιτεμος ,δεραχς μι
I'm scared, scared of those ghosts,
    Frightened of might-have-beens,
    Terrified of might-bes,
But you are here with me.
And I will throw my fears
    Away and smile with you.
"ωηατ ις τηις τηατ ι φεελ?
ανδ ωηατ ις τηις τηατ ι φεαρ?"

  11. Yeah, go for it!  XD I'll comb through more of mine for suitable ones... XD

  12. To my beloved;

    For it hangs eternally,
Never shall she be once again.
    And though we have failed
    To see through ourselves,
    We have succeeded,
    And why cry and despair?
    Why fight and suffer?
Even without me as you are,
    You would walk on;
    The path of your own.
    Listen to the chimes
    Of the seven arches;
For it bears memories I hold dear,
In the lockers of my soul.
Drown the void with the faithful.
    May your heart be free
    Of the world's sins.
