Distant horizons oceans apart, Flashing a smile light in my heart, Standing in place lost in the blue, Lost in the sky, and thinking of you. Dreaming away when nights get too long, Singing my way through symphony's song, Finding what's real, finding what's true, Finding myself and thinking of you. Hearing the tinkle of cascading rain, Discovering passions i cant restrain, Out on the parkway in mountainous view Watching the distance and thinking of you. Oceans waves awash in the spray, At the dawn and the dusk and the dark of the day, Drawn to your eyes, engrossed by the hue, Always, forever thinking of you.
I'll Love You Forever Don't ever forget, what you said to me, On the day we first kissed, by the trunk of our tree, You said that you'd love me, year after year, You said that you loved me, and that was my fear. Commitment had scared me, mistakes of my past. But you said our love was one that would last. And I loved you so deeply, I had to believe, So I helped make our goal, one we could achieve. We married four years, right after that day. "I'll love you forever," is what you still say. And year after year, that promise you keep, From when we awake, to when we both sleep. But time had to pass, we were over the hill, "I'll love you for always," is what you say, still. You smiled your smile, and my eyes had shone, And for so many years, I was never alone. Then one rainy day, in a hospital bed, "You know I still love you," is what you had said. "I'll meet you in heaven, and thanks for the ride. I'll love you forever. I'll be at your side." 7/19/10
Lasting Love Our love, our lasting love. We stand united, we cannot be divided. Our love, our lasting love. Even when the skies are gray or blue, my love will always ring true. Our love, our lasting love. Always together, you and I, we're just like stars with an endless shine. Our love, our lasting love. I give you roses every week, your sweetness is what I seek. Our love, our lasting love. Like the roaring of waves, your lips upon mine is what I crave. Our love, our lasting love. Like a ray of sun you make me smile, as I hold your hand I ask you to stay awhile. Our love, our lasting love. And even when we're at death's door, I promise I'll seek you forever more. I know it's pretty corny. But I tried my best!
Okies I'm back!!' I know it's kinda late but I'm gonna post my war poem!! As I said before I really dislike this topic so not some of my best work!! XD
Have you ever seen blood run Flowing in thick streams Like rivers on the ground And heard the dying screams That echo all around There's no glory here it seems And gunshots fire on And on the ground they lay Paying with they're lives A price they shouldn't pay Dying though they strive To meet the light of day Have you ever seen a boy Skin cold and pale as ice With blank and glassy eyes Caught in wars cruel vice While his sobbing mother cries His unjust sacrifice And the battle carries on For these machines of war Will never stop the blood Till bodies wash the shore And earths consumed by flood And still they'll thirst for more For war makes monsters of us all Even the strongest hearts Can be poisoned by hate When the thirst for killing starts And they're bloodlust never sates Until their soul departs But this can't continue, it must end For if it doesn't more shall fall The dead will lie upon the street The injured on their knees will crawl And we'll trample them beneath our feet War will bring the end of all
lasting love: When she turned 82 she'd had enough So over a chicken dinner she said, "For 60 years now I've lived with you. And I think you would know me by now. But this chicken dinner has shown me the truth, You never really cared for me anyhow. I've made you this meal time and again, and each time you know what you do? You take the dark me, and leave me the white. You take what I love for you." Her husband set quietly and just looked at her, then slowly he put his fork down. "it's true I've taken the dark as you say, but my love the rest is not true. You see it's the white that I love the best, and I was leaving my best for you."
