New Event Made Easy

Discussion in 'Other KaW Discussion' started by Deeez_Nuts, Apr 12, 2017.

  1. The new two part Event (PvP & Non-PvP) is a complicated affair that has confused quite a few members of the KAW community, as such i'm going to simplify it a bit here.
    *Everyone is auto opted in

Firstly opting out: Through the opt out spell you are automatically removed from the pvp - aspect of the event, and any items will be converted within 24 hours.⚜

PvP drops: You will only gain drops by hitting opted in players who have already collected items. At the current time numerous people have complained about not getting any drops, so it might be bugged / the drop rate is very low. This might be connected with the PvP spell from last Event!?

IN addition your bulk of drops will still come from EBs.

PvP spells (8 Hour length): Swiftshadow Fate will double any drops you receive from PvP, however it does not assure drops - similarily to the weekend PvP blitz spells.
Field of Hinderance will half the amount of drops lost when atttacked / stolen from.
Capricious Blessing might give you extra bonused when hitting other players.
Touch of fate gives you the ability to while scouting a player a 'Lesset Fatelock Shield' preventing the gain and loss through PvP (You could use this as a clan to secure everyone, which is what the Devs are purposefully doing to promote teamwork?).

Lastly, the Greater Fatelock Shield prevents gain and loss of drops through PvP!

    Banking:
Throughout the event you can bank drops (While in PvP) and safe these. They will be added back to your event score to determine rewards at the end!
    Opting in vs Opting out:
Rewards for opting in are higher, HOWEVER it's more risky as items can be stolen & having significant gold out is more difficult due to increased PvP risk.?

  2. This actually helped me get my head around this, thanks!

Anyone got many drops from PVP yet?

  3. Mostly what you see in LB is items from EBs.I believe it is made so that you won't actually get too many items from players so they can't lose all their items in one or two days.Consider this:You get to do a goth or lotl and get you 2k items banked and you get 8k more until the end of the day...wouldn't be really great to have 7k stolen out of those 8k.So I guess the drop rate from players is lower due to that :)

  4. Helpful start and useful.
But the easiest part to remember is this will work largely like the feather hunt.

At the moment pvp is largely pointless.
It will be for the next 4-5 days.

People may bank only 2k event items a day if opted in.
That means if people are focusing on ebs and earning a decent amount they will only be banking 20-50% ( size depending) of their items.

Therefore the further into the event you go, the more items people will have out, the more items you will earn through pvp actions.

Last two days will pay the most so keep that in mind when planning your pvp actions.

  5. What's stopping people from gaining non steal able from EB's then converting to stealable right before event ends.

  6. Because you cant opt back in

  7. A suggestion to those new to the pvp world is don't depend on the battle list. The battle list is horrible. Lol. Hunt in wc and find clans that are close to your size to find pvp opponents that you can actually hit.

  8. They convert automatically as you get them.

  9. Thanks! This helped a lot.

  10. You get good drops if the player is much bigger than you. If you're hitting people your size or smaller, the drops go way, way down.

Additionally, if they have lots of items out, you'll steal more than if they have few out.

  11. It also helps if you hit players who haven't opted out - those that opted out won't drop anything!

  12. Pretty sure the scout spell is meant for pvp clans in osw, to hinder the clan they are fighting or for attack builds to prevent constant hits from spy builds or for soy builds to prevent attack builds from hitting their regen for items

  13. could be @graveslsa ; added it to the original post as a quote

  14. Can i still get rewards if i opt out

  15. Yes, but they will be significantly less, check the events tab for the differences!

  16. That's not true, I get 2k-3k a whack

  17. I don't agree with this whole complaining about not getting items off hits. I have been getting PLENTY. This event has an extremely high skill cap because it requires a significant amount of tracking.

This means you need to make a list as time goes on of active players in your hit range or that you can win on. These players should consist of those who you constantly find dtw and constantly see active in EB and at the top of eb list.

Check my wall for example, but please note that these players are in my own hit range, and also, i have stopped posting them there- have started putting the list elsewhere.

  18. Why is the conversion now past 72 hours?

  19. Has anyone noticed the spell that automatically casts when your stolen from (gradating barrier) has 5 levels? The 5th lasting for about an hour and a half and reducing 90% of item loss on its own. Want to emphasize that it only lasts for an hour and a half and only as a result of being stolen from. And the timer doesnt refresh each you are stolen from, the full hour/hour and a half must expire and then you have to be stolen from numerous times to again get the full effect. Ive noticed players do still lose quite a few items however before this spell takes its full effect. It seems to ideally last for the entire duration of what a regen would take plus about an extra half hour.

I hope I didnt just miss all this on the event thread, skimmed through it couple of times and didnt see it.

  20. It was mentioned in event post, but not in detail. The shield is meant to provide a short chance for you to regroup and maybe cast the fatelock shield spell in the alchemist.
