On ATA Charlie's most recent announcement (Community Wishlist Response) addressing community questions, the devs announced that there will be new lands and builds.

I hate the idea and the expanding lands and builds and the effect that they had on the game led me to quit the first time. Honestly, I only play because I have a lot of friends herme despite my dislike for the game.

Kaw holds 2 and a half starts in the apple market with one star votes owning the largest percentage so I am not alone on my distaste for the game. But the people I've made friends with ultimately keeps me coming back.

So to preserve what little fun there is left in the game I am making this thread. Here I will gather your opinions on one of the worse features that was announced by Grant: New Building and Lands.

Plus, five lands is enough. Lowlands has each corner marked with lands, it can end with that, as a image thing, anymore tabs would look trashy in my opinion.

Instead of trashing it even more, I feel you all have already created an opinion so I will leave the rest up for voting.

Interesting occurrence: between Page 10's tally and Page 20's tally, the percentages of Yes, No, and Situational votes did not change enough for any of them to lose or gain a percent. It will be interesting to see what happens when I update the list again.

Though wrote as a mock, it speaks more volumes. 15% seems like enough to justify new lands from the developers.

Back tracking from the joke. Still leaves me uneasy but I will continue to update this thread until the new update post is made. I have very little faith in the apes but who knows.

From my Gold Sink thread. When asked for his opinion on why land help, not destroy the game he would only refuse to answer even after saying it could allow is to find a better solution with his point of view.

The devs seem to be putting all of their chips in this new update as well as their build token idea. Though I feel like those will not solve the issue I as well as many other have with this game.

This is not being posted as a way to malicious or to undermine your efforts but to point out why lands hurt the base community and how it turns KaW one dimensional.

New Land and Builds are detrimental to the gameplay of Kingdoms at War for multiple reason and only provides 2 advantages vs many negative aspects.

Those two good things are as followed:
Give another Gold Sink to the LB other than allies and pots.

Allows some players to move into the starting stages of this land and build update to get a quick stat and plunder boost.

Both of which increases the income of ATA which I approve, I want ATA to make money, but they hurt the gameplay and economy of KaW.

Note: Building Tokens will soon be released so I will remove all arguments of how this update hurts players looking to grow only and all debates about new players. I do this with the assumption that the build tokens will help bridge these issues.

OSW/Strip Wars:

The primary issue in OSW is that clans must grow to keep their rank and dominance. We have witness many prominent OSW clans fail at this game in the past two years because of their style of game play and the focus on growth over war has lead many to quit. I was among them but the social aspect of the game saw me return because of my friends in New Age.

The stat ranges, or gap, is so incredible that it is overwhelming. You can no longer go into a war, clan vs clan or alliance vs alliance or any makeshift of the two and war like you once could. Roasters have to be sectioned out and players can no longer enjoy a healthy clan target or focus like they once did because of the hit ranges. This forces a breakdown in the roster to go after targets.

That would be find, but with constant releases of new lands and builds always in the way, much focus must be forced on growth. And aspect many war going accounts do not enjoy. Though if they fail to grow they fail to have the ability to hit their targets. This forces Epic Battles on many players who do not enjoy them, both durning events and in between them.

Now, not only do clans not have the ability to hit from top to bottom on their rivals rosters, they need to focus on growth which enters us into a spending war over a hitting war.

The issue though goes to allies. Max Plunder is easily attainable and players can make 1 to 10 trillion off of a 20 minute epic battle. The flush of gold has made stripping essentially meaningless. This was one of KaW's greasy asset because it removed gold from the game. Though it still does, due to inflation, it no longer does the job as effective.

This is a major reason why I will never agree with new lands and builds. It turns the game into a single style, which is growth. Before, the reason to grow was war, now the reason to grow is to grow some more.

On top of this, many players have left Kaw which hurts because OSW clans are fighting to grow so they can hit and they will never reach that mark. Players grow tired of it and leave.

This growth exhaustion also happens to EB players as well.

EE:

EE players should be an example of why this doesn't work. Because of the gross stat range in KaW, clan wars must be done with Lowlands only. Another disadvantage is that they must bank their gold, which makes growing a mammoth task. Even though build tokens will be coming out, buildings are still meant to be a gold sink so I this will be an issue.

Building Tokens:

Though they will be used as a bridge, they will fail to improve the inflation of KaW and only increase it. A bad side of them is they will replace gold for building upgrades. This increase in gold savings can be used to upgrade or to buy allies. Though that still hurts the ever rising gold in game. That, as well as plunder boost from new buildings will hurt this game.

In Closing:

I will never convince you not to add new land, nor will 80% of the players in game convince you. You want to do it, you will.

But I suggest you listen to the 80% and take land and builds off of the road map for 2017. Adhere to the Mid tier players, and fix the issues in the game.

Don't just be satisfied with Build tokens, go on to create a clan structure or make stripping worth something again. Fix the issue where pvp players have to be bored with ebs before you go back to growth. If you won't stop adding new land and builds, make it where you can grow and war at the same time. Not just hit ebs.

Otherwise more and more mid tier players will leave and if they leave you won't attract new ones.

Edit: As of page 35 the percentage has changed. No votes are up 2% and Yes and Sit votes are down 1 % a piece with Sit votes losing two vote to No because of the time frame of the release is sooner than the developers are planing for a release and because the new lands won't be towers only.

Well they'll probably give another 25 land for maximizing profit and ppl will be like 1.5b cs i guess? Then ally market will become even worse than ever. Would be nice when high stats players can start doing 20T per zta with that idea thou, that's about $20 income for devs.

The majority of kaw isn't even close to BC. Although the ones that want lands(Already BC) is pretty much all of ATA's earnings, we still need to take in that without balance in the game, KaW will eventually die off.

Hell. No. Figure out a new and actually creative method of expanding the game without adding lands

Adding lands will just increase that never ending gap, that gap between the elite and the regulars. It will increase the community's (what is left of it) anger in the devs. It will cause more people to quit. Shoving more lands and buildings down the players' faces only provides temporary enjoyment. It will provide monetary gain, certainly, to the devs. And that is, fairly to them, what they want as a company. However, this monetary gain is also only temporary. Eventually, people will get bored again . They will need more. And all the meanwhile, others that rightly feel that they cannot catch up will have quit.

How about instead, the devs use their creative minds (if they have them) to create a NEW aspect to the game. A blacksmith, a new gold sink, SOMETHING, ANYTHING. The reason this game is failing is due to the lack of NEW CONTENT. It's just the same crap recycled over and over again.

This post will probably be ignored. Just my two cents.

It will keep the stat gap big. The bigger players are probably tired of hitting the same people. Let some of us catch up a little and make some things fun again. If you keep the gap there, osw just continues to be a bore leading to people quitting.

New lands will also not only keep this stat gap, but it will ruin the ally market even more making it harder than it is now for players to get allies and keep them without big hiring off them. Also, there is no point in giving build tokens only to give build completes a boost in stats keeping the gap exactly as it was before.
