The dimly lit building is in front.

 

The one on the left is at the front..

If the one of the right were at the front, it's edges would be all balconies but if you look closely, they are not balconies but rather windows etc.

 

What if... They are parallel and that we are just looking from an odd angle so that really neither is in front but that the sun is shining down the street so the tan building is just as sunny as the opposite side of the street on the other building, but it gives this weird perception of being in front simply because of the camera angle..

 

Its the same on a cube object so there is no front

Look at the angle on the right side. If the are both the same building that would be impossible.
