[Discussion] Seals (Not the Animal)

  1. Also, not the Pokémon either. That would be Seel.

Corinthian here, and I don't understand this seal business. Sure, more gold, faster, is cool. So is helping your clan. However, a lot of people want, and buy, seals for their own gain, often in clans of strangers or people they hardly know. Possibly, clans of people they softly know as well: Let us be equal opportunity here after all.

At..what? 59 nobility a seal, it's not really viable to farm quests for the things, especially since the whole point is to make gold faster, and we all know questing needs an overhaul to stay competitive beyond the start of the game, but probably will not for a bunch of reasons (a topic for another time). This means real life money is spent on these.

Perhaps, if you compare the costs of buying seals vs the cost of crystaling, it is more economical. Bonus points if that seal lets you be involved in multiples of HTE because entrance fees or some such. However, it's not the best to approach buying a seal from this angle, as the people who purchase the nobility for them are likely also going to purchase crystals to best exploit the EB unlocks.

Still, this leads to the point: Seals are a great way to grow, and people we're already spending money to grow anyways via nobility and crystals. This just incentivizes more purchases to grow even faster, which means, aside from the damage to the game economy on release, more easy money for the developers.

At the same time, however, it just doesn't seem worthwhile. Then again, my flash in the pan of spending money regularly here have died out, so I'm sure I'm not getting it. I haven't even used the Seal they gave out for free, yet, or even done the EB once.

TL/DR: Help a player out. What do you think? What's the big deal on these seals? Are they really worth the investment in funds? What's it like in these clans that are burning them non-stop?

Before anyone asks, I'm locked owning my clan, which is mostly dead (if showing small signs of life). So no, I'm not burning the seal just because I'm not using it. It's a weird souvenir, anyways.

Post-Script: I've been thinking about this off and on for a while. I chose to make this topic now because of the topic Sean discussion in the thread created by Noodle.

  2. Thank you for creating this thread, Corinthian!

Please correct or educate me should I go off topic in any part of your thread in advance! Now moving on...

Generally, 59 nobility points for a seal is very costly for me but it greatly depend on the player who buys the seal itself. Assuming it is done on a HTE clan, If the player can be active at least 10 hours a day, selected a 3 to 4 day pass and is able to grow their kingdom's strength significantly, it is one factor. Another factor to follow is the player's build itself like my 75mcs build.

Going deeper into this, one full unload can give me up to 107 event items of both fragements, in that case it's
Favor of Gilamarants. That's just less than half of the max drops of 235. To do this, I will need to grab in one or both phases of FFA in a HTE OR use a 100% or 200% crux + 1 xtal every hte to achieve that. Which is then another factor to determining whether the seal is worth it on my opinion. Build size, activity, crystals and the cruxes, as well as the number of FFA HTE's that a player can get will greatly influence that factor.

If the player seals in a HTE clan non-event wise, it's all about the gold. Regular xtalling and cruxes will make the seal worth it. It is much better worth to use it during an event like this one however.

Event-wise, it is more worth the funds for bigger sized players to seal on it since their big cs allows them to easily get max event drops without having to use
Health Crystals or even hit items!

In summary, my opinion is that it depends on the players itself. Players vary greatly in their needs, but their build size, number of crystals they have, cruxes and the number of FFA HTE's event wise will influence whether the seal is worth using! :D

  3. Well, most clans don't allow xtals during hte. (There is 1 clan that allows max, and 1 that only allows 1, but those are all i know about). So, you end up not spending on xtals unless you join one of those clans.

The reason they don't allow xtals is because people are only going to use a certain amount of seals, and they don't want to blow through them.

With 59 nobs, i can do several things. I can do almost 4 nob to gold transfers, which would net me roughly 60 bill, i can buy 59 zta circles, which isn't enough to fully open a zta, or, i can buy a seal.

With purchase of that seal, you can also get a stay in a hte clan for 3-5 days, or maybe even 6.

On your seal, you can max xtal, and choose how you do items. With items closed, i get 3 days and about 150 bill (i think) with no xtals. Now, throw in a crux chest or 2, Max xtal, and you get some serious profit. Already beats the Nob-gold changeover rate, and i still have 3 days of ebs where i can make about 20 bill am unload.
Not only that, but i also get somewhere around 100 (completed) event items each EB, which is better than someone my size can do in a rotation.

Now, if your looking for quick cash, and are willing to use tons of xtals, do a zta train and double crux.

  4. I don't think you understand just how well HTE pays. I could use 6 xstals on most ebs and it would equal one full unload on HTE. So why would I want to hit any other eb if I can open an HTE instead.

  5. Why do hte day in day out when you can train ZTA on weekends and get way better growth.

  6. ZTA trains require xtals, and that means more money. Hte is the cost efficient route.

  7. To answer with your second question in this thread, I'll give you my personal experience:

Generally, in my perspective b2b HTE clans complete one HTE every 6 minutes to 2 hours in normal! You would normally see other clan members (especially the admins) asking who's gonna seal next, rules in items (FFA/P1 closed P2 FFA/Sealer + Admin/Both Phases closed.). Believe it or not, they make a ton more of gold than most other regular epic battles. Tribal Ninjas and Gold Haven are clans of examples to confirm that!

Occassionally or often, you can find someone willing to seal more than once. For example, a player will seal 4 times when it's his/her turn. That can give you a signal that it is one of the good times to crux up and use Health Crystals to start bombarding the epic battle to maximize your gain of gold, unless the sealer says xtals is closed!

I can feel around 17-20 seals are burned from any HTE clan. If they are faster, it can go up to over 30 seals used in a 12-hour period!

  8. Acronym overload, towards Sean. Remember I haven't done non-original release epic battles in years. I have a vague idea about ZTA (a really, really vague idea), but specifically for the below quote, how do you mean towards FFA? I understand it means "Free-For-All" in most cases, yet I also see players in World Chat asking to "join FFA." Is this the same thing? I thought HTE clans had stricter requirements than accepting anyone who wants to join. If not, please clarify.

"To do this, I will need to grab in one or both phases of FFA in a HTE OR use a 100% or 200% crux 1 xtal every hte to achieve that. "

  9. The people that ask for ffa HTE are generally just people that want gold w/o spending money, and think that HTE is the only way to grow. Or they could be looking for ffa war?

  10. Those people in wc are asking for free for all war.

In Haunting: the Escape, FFA is in reference to the item phases. The sealer chooses open or closed, and, if open, anyone can hit. If closed, only 1 person can hit.

  11. @Noodle, it's possible they're looking for FFA War. I've never heard of this war mode or seen these FFA requests until this recent go-around, so it seems new. Would you mind explaining? If I need to search the forums for this, it's no bother. I merely just suspect there's a lot of posts with "FFA" in them.

Edit: @zorkay, thanks for the reply. How do clans enforce this FFA policy? Given that forums would have me believe EB clans don't strip folks of allies and 24/7 pin folks in retaliation/punishment of things, what's to stop a player from using items during the FFA phase and then finding another clan?

  12. I have seen players posting in World Chat:

"ffa war here" (it's mainly towards war, which I haven't understood the meaning of it yet since I didn't war.)

If a player specifically says "FFA hte here come join", then we can generally assume that clan is open for players even without seals to get into that eb and hit freely along with items.

Today, every HTE clan would require a seal from new applicants to enter a B2B HTE clan. A minimum of 10mcs would follow too, as it is the minimum strength to hit Haunting the Escape. For the clan rules and HTE rules, it's all up to the clans!

  13. Haha who says I don't 

  14. I think HTE destroyed good clans like Rising Hawks.

  15. To whoever, I think Sean, who was saying that big builds do it for the items cause it's easy to get them is not necessarily true. The ease of getting event items applies to all ebs, in fact I could probably get more if I just sat in SP cause there's less down time. I, as well as bigger builds, do it simply for the gold.
Also Sean893, cheeky of you to unfollow me instead of answering my questions

  16. Starting to believe that's not actually Sean if you catch my drift. That or he's just a crook.

  17. "FFA wars" are wars where the clan tries to get enough people (15), often found via World Chat, in order to sign up for a war. When the war starts they try to get a specific amount of actions so they can get the max drop of event items possible. Wars drop event items even when losing, as long as you've enough successful actions (but drops more when winning of course).

  18. Seals are an endangered species

  19. Much obliged Ch0c0lat3. Thanks. One day, I'll try these things, and be appropriately wrecked.

  20. I'm sorry Corinthian. You are from a kaw that does not exist anymore.

You have recently been crawling all over forums like some kind of kaw 'know it all'

    You don't spend.
    You don't play
You don't have a clue of what being solidly active in this game is like in modern kaw.

You hang off your old school status of being knowledgeable in a game that is now beyond you.

Seriously dude. Go away. Stick to impressing the morons who know no better in world chat or something.
