I am aware that this has been brought up many times in the past, but I think it would be a great idea for a clan owner to have the option to set certain members as an auto join. This way when a member needs to leave for an event war they do not have to worry about a long wait when they return. I think a better way to balance this idea, which I have never seen suggested, is that, similar to clan ranks, a clan owner (or any rank) can buy slots. Obviously, like other ranks, there would be a limit for how many people can hold the rank. There could also be a feature where, say that member had a rank, (and a clan title), then once they return the rank and title would be given to them. While they are gone said rank would be unavailable to be given to another member unless the owner retracts said rank from said member.
Probably not sorry. Didn't actually read the thread, just inferred what you were saying from the title.
While this is an interesting idea; no support due to the fact that there are many other bugs and fixes to work on, features that already exist that need to evolve, still a lot of work to be done with events and various game mechanics. I would put this idea so far down the list of UI that I just can't support something that doesn't really affect game play. Sure it makes it so inactive clans can have there only active members return with out the fear of there dead clan never letting them in, but outside of that.... a quick fix is join a clan with active members/admins.
Interesting idea, only flaw I see is that the auto join would have to have a spot in clan reserved but many clans with members coming and going kick inactives and fill to 100. So either the auto join wouldn't work because the clan is full or the clan just wouldn't use it. I see it as a neat idea but agree with others that there are more pressing fixes.
Support, because people have lives outside of KaW and can't be on all the time to do admin roles. These other important bugs and fixes aren't going to get fixed so no point in holding your breath on that.
Support for two reasons. 1) People that routinely leave for ee, being able to reserve them a spot or withdraw it not really a bad idea and have them auto accepted and re-ranked. 2) Small clans that have semi-absentee owners -- you can have 'super' admins that can actually leave the clan and return for whatever reason and still run the clan until owner returns. Lack of support because there are a million other things wrong with roles and everything else, but hey ATA always does the least popular/important thing so maybe they will do this one.
A feature like this could actually help the environment quite a bit, and encourage player retention - a key point for the developers and should be for us as well. The argument that it wouldn't work with a full clan is easy - a simple error message is displayed. Implementation, on the other hand, might prove quite tricky for the developers, especially since I think they work on projects some 6 months in advance, ignoring fire-fighting. So, if they haven't thought of this themselves yet, even if they like it, don't expect it for some time.
Thanks for the feedback guys! I do agree that there are other pressing concerns that should/need to be fixed. My intention was not to make this seem more prevalent. The main people this would help are people that do trains for HtE and ZTA, so instantly joining, and people that leave for war. Bigger clans would rarely need this as they almost always have an active admin on and near-full spaces.
Even ignoring the trains, the players and clans with even smaller clans where members leave for specific equipment or to grow better for a time, times, and half a time.
Not a bad idea. Need to better define who is a perm and not be a perm in more than 1 clan. Event hoppers could abuse it. All n all i like it but admins can be aplenty also.
I would give your comment more merit, but with the clan role changes, 50 billion per slot is a bit backbreaking for us non-BC players.
@Zorkay, that's for one event payout though. I get what you imply though, that a clan should cost several trillion to just get into, and not be taken lightly. Without event gold, it is still backbreaking for non-BC players, which is what should be considered since events are rarely run.
