You're comparing a small Japanese vehicle to a big block v8 made in the US attached to a 3 ton truck....obviously there's a big difference.
Look up HHO kits. Splits water into hydrogen and oxygen which is then piped into the air intake. The result is a cleaner burn = less wasted fuel, less polution, cleaner engine, etc.
Make sure the spark plugs are properly gapped. If you clean the throttle body I would recommend SeaFoam throttle body cleaner, a soft toothbrush, and a soft cloth.
