7th Anniversary Update

  1. Alright, well. Shall we begin? I've just been observing the forum and chat discussions of this new update that the developers have released. Also it was nice to see some of the threads about the topic were locked almost immediately, it's a game devs, I'd love to be able to voice my opinion on it without being deleted for not being what you would like to hear. Anyway, let's get to the point. As many others have said in the past few hours, I am of the opinion that this update is quite premature, as I saw someone put it. But I am going to provide a quite detailed reasoning as to why I think this so that the devs may actually take it seriously and not lock it. However, I do believe no matter the outcome, that the devs have made a mistake. I would imagine there is going to be a dip in activity now because of people who see this, realize the impossibility of achievement, and quit. And, if they do remove these changes, which is highly unlikely, it will look bad for them. No good option here devs.

Now, let me explain. I took a look through the top 3 clans and their rosters. Now, supposedly, these clans contain the highest strength of every other clan in the game, which, is impressive. But, looking through their rosters, which aren't even at full capacity, not even a majority of their members were BC. I took a look at players around #50 on these rosters, and they are not BC, so, it would be right to assume that players below them in the roster aren't either. That means, out of the top 3 clans in the game, roughly 150 are BC or close to it (obviously I have no way to know if they are 100% BC or not.) But, if not even the top tier clans can have members who are all BC, how can more of the playerbase? It doesn't seem logical.

However, I would like to point out something from Cobra's thread about target marketing. This is correct. This is a freemium game, if you don't know what that means, you shouldn't be on the game, so I won't explain it here. Look it up if you need clarification. But, like all other freemium games, their money comes from in-game purchases. And you might say, well, I spent $100 a few months ago on seals! $100 will not support their company or allow it to grow and earn money. Every freemium app pulls a certain group, as Cobra stated, and generally, the group that receives focus is the group that consistently dumps money into the game, because these players provide a majority of the profit. So, since they are a business, ATA is going to analyze their profits and do things that get more money out of these people. So, I would agree that this was a smart business move in that respect.

On a sort of side note, I would like to point out that, as a mobile game, KaW has survived quite well. After 7 years, it is still in the top 50 grossing games in the world on iOS, that's an accomplishment. I would also like to point out that most of these games operate on a bell shaped curve of activity/commitment from players. Meaning, they first release and have a low amount of players, and if it is a good game, they grow and become popular and eventually hit a peak, and then fall down to either a state where no one new comes because of how horrible it has become, or the money dries up. That always happens. Why? For this exact reason. In order to keep a game going, new content needs to be added to keep the spenders spending. But even for these people, there is a limit on how much your sanity can take until it just becomes a waste of time.

I believe KaW has passed that point. And, I am of the opinion that the devs should do something, anything really, to counteract the imbalance put in place by this update. Let's look at wooloolooop. 1.5b cs. What. Why?!? I believe updates are good and well and essential for growth, but I also believe that allowing the maximum capabilities of a player's cs to almost TRIPLE in 1 update is simply far too much and that this needs to be fixed. I saw someone suggest a simple overall plunder increase from epic battles, I kind of support this, but, only if the plunder from pvp is increased too, because I've been around awhile, and pvp is good.

Now, let's look at some things people have said.

This. While I agree, the opinion of the vast majority is not always the opinion that matters. Back to targeted market, the market isn't everyone, it's the select few big spenders. But, if theyre the only ones playing, they don't have anyone to pay to be better than.  So the opinion of the vast still matters, and I agree. This update is just about useless.

This is my main objection to the update. At this point, everyone that needs this pulls in so much gold from the influx of events  that the entire process of becoming BC again consists more of tapping the buildings 10 times each than earning gold to afford these.

This is essentially my point. KaW is on the decreasing side of the curve. And, there isn't really a way to reverse it, just to squeeze as much out of it as possible, because all in all, it is a business.

    Heheheheh, I laughed a bit at this. Balance????? I get it, like I said, this is ultimately a business for ATA, but PLEASE, at least try and conserve what little respect the sensible players have for this game and do not try to act like this in an any way reasonable. Because that is just insane. Good day.

Thanks for reading!. Feel free to discuss.

*edit 2: eheheh unscheduled downtime. Wow. Today was a very disappointing day in the realm of KaW

*edited because I forgot to make my actual point. Oops.[/color]

  3. Can you use cyan lime yellow or red or magenta. The all orange text is to much

  4. Better?

  5. Red kills my eyes couldn't read it

  6. No... different colors laik a rainbow
Lmao i saw the color and died

  7. Devs are more focused on making $100 from 500 LB players rather than making $20 from 5000 people. They focus on the few big spenders rather than building a game for the community as a whole, from retaining starter players to more wars/war brackets to a more balanced PvE/PvP/EE system. I don't ever plan on spending money on KaW again at this rate. If i ever see improvements to the things i've said above then many others including myself would probably not mind spending $20 or more a week for various things. BC is unattainable at this rate, Leaderboard is almost static unless one of them quits, War equipment is worthless, every few months your top 100 equipment is useless, and people just starting have no proper tutorial or a way to MP. I'm just calling it the way i see it.

Sorry for the wall of text. But this "business" seems like they'd rather kill the goose that lays the golden eggs.

  8. Its pretty simple you either have to leave that bar permanent or cap everybodys damage to like -350 because growth has made hte not last at all. Hte clans need to stick it to the devs ...run rotwb with all those free horns you have for a couple of days and watch that bar come back real fast. Ata 's greed is going to kill the app Which really might not be a bad thing come to think of it.

  9. Yeaaaah. This thread has seen a significant change from the original. Lol
p.s. I like the colors i also laik peach puff and moccasin , just not goldenrod

  10.
  11. Besides the whiner/trolls who posted about the colors (ever hear of a wall post or pm?), the other comments were spot on to the OP. Agree with and support. Kaw devs only making changes to the help the top 200 LB. It's been obvious for years. Now, even more so. Is it squeezing the last bit of money from the cash cows (more power to them for it), or just plain ignorance at to a simple economic equation. Those cash cows will stop soon as BC is reached very soon. What about players ranked 201 to 10k? Ever think about them devs?
My current opinion is a strong NO!
Point out any errors or wrong assumptions please.
    Thank you.

*made a long edit to this, and got kaw forum message request to enter password. Wth? Screw that, as I'm not retyping it. Basically- this is p2p game, and to all doing HTE and ZTA trains, you get by paying. 1-3 yr old BC or almost BC accounts, congrats to you.
