Question: This Greek queen fought against the Greeks and commanded many ships but ultimately lost the battle of Salamis.
One of the things I like to do when I go travelling is to go to places of history and try to get a small sense of the feeling.. Now I know history is mostly written by those who won and hardly ever accurate.. But it's really awesome if you go hiking to a place where some history might have taken place.. If you ever go visit Greece and are driving along the E94, there is a place on the hill where there is a statue commemorating the battle of salamis.. Hike up that hill and look at the straight of Salamis and you can feel how Xerxes must have felt like to see his navy annihilated 2500 years ago.. It's just as good as seeing 300 on IMAX.. Do both! ️
Do you know what Island in Greece? I went the Island kos and there was a hill with a statue facing lots of boats
It is on the east side of the island of Salamis. Coordinates: 37°56'49"N 23°33'4"E You can put that in google earth .. Great short hike
I have not been to Kos yet.. Would like to go to the Dodecanese group one of these days.. Sounds like you had a great trip!
Lili gets it! Next Q: Who is the captain that Bruce Willis made the spoof of in this scene? Name of the captain please..
To be fair he and his partner were promoted to captains only in the fourth movie and this scene that is being spoofed is from the second movie.. The spoof also made fun of Basic Instinct... Umm Kathy Ireland..
Yay! Lily gets it... Lethal Weapon 2 was surprisingly good.. Next Q: At Haight and Ashbury, what is a nickname Jerry Garcia went by?
