Necrobumps.

  1. Why are mods locking necrobumped threads? Many good threads (a lot yesterday) were locked because of necrobumping. Instead of locking these great threads why not forum ban the gravediggers who are mass bumping them? Punish the player not the thread.

  2. That's the thing there is no real number range that defines necrobumping, so it's completely up to the mods discretion which in my opinion is a little flawed, there should be a set minimum amount of time from the last post in the thread that will constitute as necrobumping.

Maybe devs can put numbers into their RoC thread for clarification.

  3. I just saw a thread from June I think it was locked for necrobumping... That's a little ridiculous in my opinion.

  4. A lot of the threads are necrobumbed not for the information they give, but because someone decides to go along bumping threads for no reason. If there a bunch of threads locked for necrobumping it is usually one person just posting a comment to bump an old thread up for their own boredom/amusement. This causes problems with flooding active topics with old banter threads.

If the thread were an informational thread then its usually bumped so another player can find it easier. Those will not be locked.

  5. Then why don't you forum ban the bumper so they don't continue to flood the first page of forums? The threads shouldn't be locked

  6. Players do get banned for necrobunping. But generally it's a warning the first time around unless the player has a history of doing it.

Necrobumping can be anywhere from a couple weeks to years and it really just depends on the thread. Like Mei said, if it's a thread made for trolling and was bumped for such purposes then yeah, it's going to get locked. The majority of dead threads died for a reason.

  7. necrobumping ...sounds dirty
