TV show passed up the book and the writer of the book had creative control over the TV show.

Remember: The books aren't finished and it takes that writer a long time to write a GoT book.

True but such a thing has never been hinted, characters hardly explored in the show but the book covers more. Certain things that George did not choose like Sansa getting raped, that was suppose to be a fake Arya. That was suppose to be an important part in GOT but was ruined. They instead wanted to be more dramatic which is understandable
