OSW Discussion

  1. Hey guys me again (inb4 butthurt fangirls)

Today I want to discuss another controversial topic. OSW and how it has changed

In the past there were alliances however they were far from being as large as our current examples. Apocalypse is a great example of an alliance that is so large it's near impossible for anyone else to compete with them on a PvP basis without being completely out numbered and overpowered. This has led on to the only people being able to fight with them being large alliances themselves.

Also events have changed the way kaw is in a huge way. Even with minimal activity it's really easy to gain gold. Silver bars are high in abundance from rewards and are easy to save up for emergency use. HTE is another great way that people can gain gold easily although the same can be said about other high paying ebs.

How do you guys feel about how OSW has changed? Do you think large alliances need a nerf or limits on them? What about strips and how the mechanics currently work?

  2. Well, this is very...

    Phenomenal.

  3. Like most people in OSW I am too cowardly to post with my main

I think most people would agree that something needs to be done about the overwhelming size of alliances. They are too damn big now it's not even fair. It's as if they are scared that they need to hide behind hundreds of players.

Also events honestly don't bother me when it comes to OSW although PvP is full of butthurt and if you hit someone in a large alliance they put you in ca. It's pathetic. Funny how those in OSW hate PvP the most.

  4. Truthfully there is no way to "limit" an alliance size.

This is due to its a friendship thing.

  5. I don't think you could limit an alliance's size. I would they could just have a verbal no hit agreement. Especially if we can still pick our targets. Changing that aspect would change the whole game and then.. Numbers will drop in active players.

Silver Bars have ruined OSW. Look at the big alliances, Invictus & Apoc will never stop fighting unless they both mutual CF. Same with Zaft, yes they have lost numbers but they are still there and the ones left are not going anywhere until they bore of the game. If SB never came around long OSW would not be able to be maintained. Now all sides can slain victory and it becomes the opinion of the bystander and which side they want to brown nose more.

OSW are a thing of the past, conflicts should be handled with System Wars. Then numbers won't lie, real winners and losers can be seen.

  6. OSW.. Hm.

Well it has changed drastically. People used to keep each other pinned, as long as possible for however long needed, and now it's just about strips.

So yeah, it's changed a lot. Different type of OSW, but OSW nonetheless.

  7. You can't limit their size but you can nerf their effectiveness by changing strip mechanics

  8. This has already been changed once, from 0.1% to 0.01% per hit or something like that. Doesn't matter in large scale osw though, when you have hundreds stealing at once. Changing the mechanics will never work, with enough people they will still be cleaned in a blink of an eye.

  9. If there were no events, osw's would end quicker prolly.

  10. #truth

  11. Silver bars prolong it for sure.

  12. Wouldn't say blink of an eye. Takes 7k steals for someone to get cleaned. Means you need 70accounts all doing 100 actions, and all doing 100 successful actions. That means running at least 4 xtals and hoping you win em all. On big, worthy strips, those accounts usually have 30+ sdt. Even more now, you need big hansels xtalling. From what I know, most of these big alliance have 10-15 hansels in their each clans that can successfully repeatedly get through it. And that's saying all of these hansels are active.

  13. Blink of an eye bud!

What used to take a significant window, 2-4hrs maybe more, can now be done in 30min or less. Sometimes literally in the time it takes to go take a leak.

  14. Osw is outdated.. no one does that anymore.

Now is the events era.. so fun woohooo ;)

  15. To be fair sure there are events. With a few t in rewards from sb. But now strips are much bigger and more expensive. It's easy to rebuild a few t in a day or two without Xtals. I think event rewards are doing a much better job helping smalls and mids grow than they are funding strips in osw.

  16. You put a cap on the amount of people who can hit a strip and take the regular amount, after that cap is reached and more people hit then every steal takes significantly less, meaning the more people who hit the longer a strip takes instead of it being faster.

  17. I agree

  18. Osw is not for everyone because most last a very long time. I prefer osw over ee. Osw will never go away! As for the big alliances it doesn't matter all alliances come and go! This is a war game so osw is about the only way to really hurt peeps anymore by stripping them and cleaning what gold they have out. Sure it doesn't take long to rebuild it but think of where they would have been if they just didn't loose a couple tril in a strip. Not to mention most of my very good friends on here have been people I osw with or against.

  19. The only OSW you'll win nowadays is against a clan that isn't interested in OSW.
