What Can WE do?

Discussion in 'Other KaW Discussion' started by renamed1141, Apr 6, 2016.

  1. I have read these forums regularly for years now, posted very little. I apologize for no BB codes, or GIF's. Not sure I even know how to do this posting lmao.
Anyhow, I see as we complain about what the dev's do for us daily. The events, what's broken with PVP, war, new player growth and retention...etc. And while I agree with much of what is said, I ask the KAW community...What are we collectively doing to help the community as a whole?
What has made this a great game from day one hasn't been the visual parts of the game, the OSW's, the OSF's, the pwars, the ebs, or the events. It's always been the social aspect. Whether that be getting tears on walls, or building amazing relationships with people miles, countries away from our home.
Let's start looking at individuals, not stats. Take people "under our wing" and help.
I guess, as the game has additions and changes, and we complain about what's wrong or incomplete with them, I ask...what are we, as a community, doing, besides complain, to help make this an amazing game?
Just some thoughts. Thank you to those who do so much, in forums, in unrecognized pm's to help, in eb assistance for new clans, in helping an ally learn...etc
When I started, Silph was one of my first owners, after initial volley. He helped, taught, and to this day is a friend. I play today because someone took me in as a friend, and didnt judge based on stats, but based on the person. That's what can make KAW great.

  2. Problem is loyalty. You can help newbs train and learn then the game, but most will notice the gold obtained from Hte and will stick with it. Devs destroyed a big part of loyalty when they released Hte. The social aspect of this game became less because the gold got bigger. Gold means greed and there's no place for loyalty.

I have had a few clans for beginners, where people can learn and grow. Most won't stick around and eventually leave for more gold.

  3. Amen brother. That's one main thing you tend to see as a difference between eb clans and osw clans. Not that eb clans are bad but you get the family feel and support like that for all size cs a bit more commonly in the osw clans. Maybe to answer your question of what we can do....we should all start an osw today. =)

  4. Btw OP, i fully support your thoughts about this. With all negativity lately, it's nice to see someone is looking for a solution 

  5. Ty Jugg, I don't know the answer, but feel we need to look within as to what we are doing to help the community.

  6. Thanks brother, love the perspective haha. May be right...

  7. Just joined this game yesterday so I have little to no say but whatever. I joined this game very confused but just had to ask global for help and I was flooded with help. Especially TD_ticktock_TD who has been helping me since I joined.

There are definitely people who are helping new people without the deserved recognition. I felt very welcomed to this game and I am enjoying my time so far.

  8. Nothing can go wrong by being nicer, support

  9. Players that easily shift clans due to the allure of better paying ebs could never be loyal to begin with.
HTE or not that's how their character is in RL too.

So I doubt loyalty is affected by the game's updates but depends on the player's background and their moral compass.

As mentioned you can go months without knowing your clannies or developing bonds with them in a random EB/HTE clan, but you really bond with your clanmates in an OSW clan. Nothing like having each other's backs in an OSW to develop some solid bonds.

    Good to see you Q.
Q used to run Crazies. Good guy.

@Ruthy, I'm afraid to ask what kind of clans you've mentored.
Considering how you choose to spam wc with vulgarities on a regular basis.
    Nice silence.

  10. Comedy gold, you should be on Comedy central 24/7.

  11. They were going to have me, but then started playing "cartoons for adults" oh well, have to work for a living, I guess.

  12. We invade PIMD.

    "Kaw Crusaders"

  13. #FreePipe

  14. Q you are absolutely correct. The social aspect is what makes Kaw great. I also was taken under the wing by my first owner helped me in many ways. I probably would not have continued playing without his guidance. Thank you for reminding us to pay it forward.

  15. Complaint is human nature, particularly when the body is idle. Forums are flooded with griping about needing new lands, new lands are terrible for the game, too many events, two whole days have gone by and no new event, HTE destroyed KaW, there needs to be a new pay to play EB, etc... People then tend to follow their complaint with suggestions, that usually are quite obvious to benefit themselves more than any other. Good to see that some are still trying to keep the spark alive that made this game. Not mindless tapping, events, or new lands; but the connection between people and groups that it forms. Carry on with the good fight.

  16. This.

There's literally nothing we can do as players, it's currently in the development teams hands as to where we go from here, we're seemingly locked into this hte for gold status because there's no new status quo for us to break that cycle

  17. When pwars were the way of growth, many clans did not have a BC OSF, mine included. And it had its difficulties creating loyalty. Times are definitely different, but at least we have options for growth, or osw, or pvp, depending on what you want to do. I'm not disagreeing with the fact that loyalty is tough to come by with the way things are set up. However, let's make sure that we as a community continue to foster and develop relationships despite these issues. As we do that, and times continue to change, we can keep what's made kaw special from the get go.
