Levels of Forum Activity.

  1. Forums are they still active?

Let me start off by saying I haven't used the forums lately near as much as I have in the past.

This thread was created with the intent of inquiring into the activity of the forums, which seems to be diminished and further more why the forums are less active then previously.

Am I completely missing much of the activity or has something changed, I believe personally the forum activity has slowed because the forums have become less and less utilized by newer players and as a result when older players leave they are not replaced.

Have any ideas of your own as to why this may be? Comment below please I'd love your take on the matter.

  2. Forums looks like a prison, and is ran like one as of late.. Not much we can do about the gestapo..

Oh look a gif for such an occasion..

  3. So the forums have been more controlled and moderated in the past, I'm sure that's a factor.

  4. Seriously, since the "update" forums has officially died... RIP Kaw Forums 2009-2016

  5. There are about a dozen or so regulars left. It used to be the case that there were more regulars than I could count. A lot of it has to do with HTE. That really killed the game for a huge number of people.

However, even after HTE, there was some life left, but now I think this place is a wasteland because of the censorship. People are just done with the blatant cheating that goes on in this game and the lack of response from the devs has left a bitter taste in a lot of people's mouths.

Better SS this post - I'm sure it'll magically disappear soon. ๎‚

  6. There just isn't much going on at the moment, that's exhilarating or fun. When there's new sexy content, global activity will rise.

"For indie F2P developers, they need to focus on demoing exactly what makes the game fun and worth playing, not on what makes it appealing from an aesthetic point of view. If you try to do just that, you might just lose your users, since their attention spans are short, so itโ€™s important to emphasize what makes your game fun, and you have to do it as fast as possible."

Read this on a news article.

  7. This pretty much summed up the past 2 years of my kawreer.

When hte was first announced it was a temporary thing but then devs kept it and the game has become entirely pay to win.

You see successful games like league of legends and counter strike global offence making way more dolla because they're games you can't pay to win but you can pay to look cooler.

Kaw used to be the sort of unique game. A game where you got your cool loot and mid tier graphics and stuff but it was still winnable completely freely.
Since hte release basically anyone can get LB or whatever by just buying stuff with real cash.

  8. Pls.

Back on topic, I think it's just a side effect of the game itself dying off

I mean, you used to only be able to read about 1min back in WC. Now it's 5-6 minutes.

  9. IMO, KaW is a social app first and a game second. The social aspect is what has kept the game alive. A number of things has effected this aspect.

Let's start with HTE. It was nice when it was limited time but now that it's been around for quite some time it has really damaged the game. Clan loyalty has gone out the window. So many people flock to and sit in HTE clans. It's much more enticing to earn gold than ever before. As such the social aspect has suffered. CC just isn't alive as it used to be. Everyone wants HTE.

The introduction of HTE eventually lead to more lands and events. This further pushed people to only be concerned about their own kingdom rather than working together. Anyone who could hit B2B HTE, does. Anyone who can't, leaves their clan to hunt for ASoF/LOTL or a faster event rotation. It's no longer about finding a great clan and having home. It's no longer about finding great people and having fun. It's simply: I want gold and I want it now. (This obviously isn't the case for everyone. But I find it's common among the new generation of players.) KaW is putting pressure to grow more than ever before and with every event, they push for stand alone players rather than clans working together.

Now censorship is at an all time high. From one point of view, I can understand. War, forum and general in game banter is no longer just some fun jabs at each other. It has become really personal. Threats on your family, on your life. Rude comments about appearance, about nationality, about religion. I've seen some players really cross the line with comments. So I can understand why ToU is being more harshly enforced more than ever before. However, we must also consider another situation. One where devs keep their mouths shut and tape anyone else's shut who so much as mention a certain situation. We have threads and comments disappearing with out a word. No one knows what they've said that is so wrong but apparently warrants a delete of their post. Devs don't respond and instead choose to bury their head in the sand and hope it will go away. Now I'm told devs are working on sorting in game problems out. Good for them! But there's no way players can know that unless they tell us. Devs are under no obligation to explain to us what's going on. It is their game after all. But when it is having such an effect on the game? Damn right they ought to start talking. Keeping quiet only makes them look bad. Can you blame players for being quieter? All this censorship (not talking about comments like threats) and the deleting of posts makes for a negative environment. Players are probably unsure and not interested in participating anymore, hence activity in forums has gone down.

Just my two cents worth

  10. The new forum layout is trash. They release new lands to interest older players who only stay for the social aspect and PvP. Now with events going on there's no more sense of achievement in the game and it all started when they made hte a permanent part of the game which everyone was oh so content with at the time. Now when you strip trillions of someone it takes about a week to recover. Perhaps they could do a retroweek event or something and disable epic battles.

If they're planning on giving out so much gold why don't they just bring back pwars? It's bs

  11. I'd support pwar reversion, would be good to see how many whiners find out about the 16 hour prep time for a 48 hour war

  12. I feel like the new events tab has some correlation when it comes to non regulars browsing or commenting on forums.

  13. Maybe if they didn't ban half the people who post and if support didn't reply with "we cannot correspond on your issue" after a ban, then forums wouldn't be so dead.

  14. You all have given me some really great feedback I'll update the thread and summarize my understanding at this point.

I must say I'm quite disappointed to see only 13 replies and my thread still be on active topics, previously you needed a trending thread to stay on this board.

  15. Honestly, I think it's all about what interests people. At least for me, I only comment on posts that are controversial and interesting to me, and usually are not about the game.
