The Difference Between "Reanimated Corpses" and Zombies

Discussion in 'Other KaW Discussion' started by Lo-Lita, Mar 20, 2016.

  1. I get it... This is not a "zombie game". So it that why they choose to use the term reanimated corpses? Or is it supposed to signify that there is some magical person who did some black magic to "reanimate" them?

    Maybe I'm just being dense.

    Theories? Thoughts?

  2. Who cares. And if you're referring to Hte I think Apherium (too lazy to check spelling) was the guy who reanimated them, being a God of death type guy.

  3. Uh the difference is a zombie wants to eat brains but a reanimated corpse does not

Or maybe it does, personal preference to the reanimated corpse but zombies are exclussively mindless corpses that want brains

  4. Cause of hollywood, it's socially accepted that zombies eat brains. Why can't zombies be like eating cupcakes and then taking selfies and posting it on Instagram with a #lovinit #hipstercafe hashtags or something...

  5. BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAINS

  6. Some magical person? It sure as hell isn't the mage cause he sucks at any kind of magic. Seriously, who takes 500+ inferno to enchant a chest piece to lvl 10 from lvl 9?! With like 20 freaking fails in between.

  7. If zombies ate brains and the apocalypse started now, our game would be safe as devs and players would be safe

  8. Reanimated Corpse is the politically correct term ..wouldn't wanna offend anyone ya know

  9. Reanimated corpse was brought back by magical means. A zombie brought back by a magical means would be controllable. Now with tgsr stated, a zombie created without the use of necromancy is generally spwaned via mutation or virus.

A walking corpse could also be a skeleton with no mind set or willpower if its own solely divoted to the purpose of the one who summoned it. In the case of hte it would be the theory of necromancy.

Example, necromancer raises a corpse & transfers his spirit to said corpse effectively making him immune to physical damage, illness, & aging. However could be a clear case of spirit summoned into a corpse & owner was not powerful enough to control it & it goes wild.

Either way difference is Control & Means of ressurection. Zombies are by stereotype uncontrollable, have a unlimited appatiete, generally spawned from a virus or mutation.

Reanimated corpses are typically summoned back from the dead by means of black magic or dark arts (Necromancy) & can be controlled with no free will & set to a simple task. Example Gaurding a vault. They have the capability of breaking loose from their spell bindings & inherenting the free will of their previous spirit.

  10. Zombies come from a virus, no one reanimates them. They're an infection that's why if they bite you can get the virus and become a zombie.... ?

Reanimated Corpses come from a magical force who basically wakes them up from dead, an external force.

  11. ..then why are Voodoo "Zombies" called "Zombies" then?

  12. totally get this guys drift #hipstercafe

  13. Because the puffer fish toxin used to leave the victim in a dead like state often lead to paralyzed victims clawing their way out of poorly designed coffins often not buried deep underground. Voodoo came into play as it was a shamian that often "Cursed" the victim.

  14. Yeah I read all that. The term Zombie or (Zombi) was around before that guy did that pseudo-study way back when ...some other university guy did his own study and found the effects were greatly exaggerated, that the 1st guy was mostly full bs

  15. yas, zombi chat.

Hadn't heard the puffer fish toxin concept. I read that myth of the zombi originated in Haiti while it was still a slave colony, a combination of the conditions and African beliefs. The Voodoo slaves did not fear zombies, but feared becoming one against their will. There was little that a Haitian slave could fear more than still being a slave even beyond the freedom of death, caught in the grasp of a sorcerer, forever lacking agency, choice, and identity.

    Nek minute, Hollywood.

Anyway, back to what the OP was saying. I don't think you have to be dead to be a zombie. (Just look at Wallmart on Monday, or watch World War Z), but you ideally should be dead if you are a reanimated corpse...

  16. Technically a zombie is the Living Dead. Not to be mistaken with a vampire being the undead. While reanimation is placing a soul in a body (preferably dead unless your switching souls). Reanimation can't exactly be spread tho being a zombie can go from a crappy day to a full on epidemic in less than 24 hours. There's another difference Hollywood showed us.
