1. Yay for me, I've never had a post deleted. I must be so damn good they don't dare do it! 2. That press release is a load of crap and you know it, you have a much bigger problem than derailing of threads, the wider community has no respect for the Mods or you anymore. 3. I have personally NEVER seen a mod cheat, kotfe or not kotfe. 4. The dev team do as good a job as they can to moderate the mods, just as the mods do the best they can, maybe you guys bashing them should remember that the mods get NOTHING for the service they do us. They are people, just like you and me (probably less like me, they make more mistakes than I do).
I've noticed, there's been nothing for me to comment on. I have a thread in the making but it'll be a little while before it comes out.
If we're going to be technical then...you're sort of derailing my thread  This thread was not made in response to Daphnia's thread. Actually it had nothing to do with it, at all. Does that mean you should delete your own post?
Getting back on topic, yes, a definite slow down on the forums. There was a time they were so busy threads would be pushed off the first page of active topics in a couple of hours. Now, 24 hours after a lock, dead threads are still on the front page. Although I'd agree that the new format possibly makes it harder to make sense of who says what, I don't think this is the reason. More likely it is because people post OSW, apology and clan threads less often.
Forums has been slowing down for well over a year now, it's just not as active as it used to be. No players are stepping up into the slots left empty by characters such as chubby and dirty larry, i know ashes will be back in a week only to be banned again a few days later Anyway, for the most of time forums has been a slow moving place with little to no activity. It really depends on what time of day you get into the forums at as at some times early US mornings it's flying along
bro forums are 100% freedom of speech as long as ATA agree with ur opinions an it is not in anyway critical of devs mods kaw etc/end sarcasm!!! LMFAO
wow, fun thread. And yeah I'm not a fan of the new forums update, some things really shouldn't be changed. However, I want to express something to you all. Back in my more active KaW days, this is the place I came to talk with people, express my opinions and ideas, and hear those of others. I want you all to know that doing that is 100% ok. However, some things aren't ok, especially as of late. There's some things you just can't do. I encourage you all to read the ToU at least once, it's helpful to know what you can and can't do. This is a game and it has rules, so better to know them than not. I know us mods aren't perfect, I admit that we make mistakes. It's hard not to, this is a stressful "job" sometimes and we're often unappreciated. That's no excuse for anything, but I'm just saying that you shouldn't judge the many by the actions of the few. We all just want the best for KaW, I guarantee you that, otherwise we wouldn't be doing what we do. If you ever have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me in-game. That's what I'm here for. Avatar
Thanks for the response, Avatar. This thread was in no way meant to be an attack on the mods, I hope that was clear. But in saying that, while we're on the topic, there seems to be a higher level of censorship and the deleting of posts lately and there is no explanation for it. No one can deny that there have been certain situations that have come to the surface in the past couple weeks. Whether players know the full story is irrelevant. The point is something seems to have happened and rather than the devs stepping up and laying it to rest once and for all, they delete people's comments, threads and stay silent. This seemingly never-ending increase in censorship with a lack of an explanation simply does not encourage a positive environment in the game and in the forums. ToU lines have become blurred. To me, it seems we're stuck between a rock and a hard place. What can we say? What can't we say? What is appropriate? What topics are okay to discuss? How can you justify something being against ToU because it is not age appropriate but other aspects of the game, which probably aren't age appropriate either, is fine? I can't recall the ToU changing much in the 5+ years that I've played. Along with many aspects of the game, it is becoming outdated. It's time for a revamp. It's time to be clear. It's time for explanations instead of brushing everything under the rug and hoping in time we'll forget and move on. Keep a clear line between what is acceptable and what is not. Ensure players and moderators are accountable for their actions. No one is above the law (ToU). Not even the people who lay down the law. IMO, forum activity has definitely decreased. A number of things has contributed to this. It's all good and well to say 'read ToU'. But I have. And so have many others. And some comments simply were not a break of the rules in anyway. Now if you say that devs want us to keep quiet on some things then I couldn't agree more. However, until certain in game issues are dealt with and there are clear boundaries in the ToU or made by devs, the forum activity will continue to decrease and so will players attitude towards the game. Have you read some of the comments made in the play store reviews? Speculation or not, devs need to speak up and explain. Just my two cents worth  This post will probably be deleted with the others but the more devs tip toe around issues and try to keep players quiet, the worse things will get.
Yeah of course The devs can do that. It's their game and they can delete what they want. They obviously feel it's necessary so that's not my place or anyone else's place to question. I don't think they've been blurred that much. As in all games, rules are bent a bit to accommodate reality. It's easy to create a set of rules, following them strictly is not. If you have questions about what's allowed and what's not, talk to a mod or email support about it, they'll be happy to help. What's outdated about it? I'd love to talk about it sometime in my pm. I'm genuinely curious. How is the line between being acceptable and not acceptable unclear? Again, question for my pm. Trust me, we are accountable for our actions. Players are too. This is becoming more clear instead of less clear. True. Been a forumer for five years and I can say that this happens. It's like a wave, it'll have its ups and downs. It definitely had it's peak in 2011 though. About the ToU, sorry but that's not true. Mostly only forumers read it. Players that never touch the forums are more likely to not even know what it is haha. Glad you've read it though. they need time to sort things out. Please respect this. I haven't read the reviews, I hardly have internet these days thanks to my job. Regardless, I know that the devs are always working hard. Always. Especially lately. Trust me on this. I won't delete it I found it well thought out. Kudos for thinking about the game and it's wellbeing. Feel free to hit up my pm, I'd like to hear some suggestions. As for this thread, you guys know what's acceptable and what's not. Thanks for understanding Avatar
With all due respect, quite frankly, that is a load of crap. What game do devs have without their players? Oh that's right, they don't have one. It's fine that they delete things that they feel is necessary to do so but without giving an explanation is a total disrespect and disregard towards the player's post they've deleted. You know what that says to me? Something wrong has happened and they want to cover it up as quickly as possible. That makes them look like 1) They're hiding something 2) They have a blatant disrespect for players 3) There is no transparency and accountability with in the system. That is a terrible way to run any system. 4) Their only interest is keeping people quiet and 5) They think as long as we don't talk about something then there is no issue. I would love to hear you, or anyone, explain to me how that benefits the game in any way. Painting over a crack does not make the crack go away. It's their underneath, getting bigger and bigger until it is past the point of repair. Is just deleting post, after post, after post a solution? How are players supposed to know what they've said is wrong if there's no explanation of what they said that was wrong in the first place? If you honestly believe that it's okay to delete a multitude of comments with no explanation then well...I suppose we'll have to agree to disagree. They can technically do whaever they please with KaW. But that doesn't make it beneficial for the game. I'm more than happy to email devs or even ask the devs. But what does that achieve? Nothing. It might give me some answers, but how about everyone else? It's more discussions behind 'closed' doors, so to speak. Wouldn't it be much simpler if the devs spoke to us all and explained? Or is every single player supposed to send in an email? When I said blurred, I meant the level of censorship and deleting of posts seems to be a lot stricter lately. It confuses people when there are silences handed out, forum bans given and posts deleted on things barely worth frowning over. That makes the line blurred about what we can and can't say. My point here was censorship seems to be at all time high and to me, it doesn't reflect ToU. Not always, but sometimes. No one who frequents forums can deny deleting of posts is happening more and more lately. And why? Because the devs just want us to shut up about certain situations. Again, that is fine, but at least have the decency to step up and say 'X, Y and Z has happened and this is why we are deleting posts'. In terms of what's outdated, exactly what I mentioned above. Silencing seems to strict now that it doesn't reflect the ToU we have. I won't disagree that there is fluctuations with activity in all respects of the game. But there's usually a reason behind that. Unless it's dealt with, it'll become more and more frequent. That is fine. Of course they need time. But in the meantime, they could simply inform players of what is going on and ask for our patience as an explanation will come in due course. Deleting comments and essentially forcing players into being quiet IS NOT A SOLUTION it only serves to make players more and more aggravated. It leads to a negative environment. People are obviously saying something that the devs don't agree with but how can they know what if they don't tell us? I'm sure they're putting effort in. I never disputed that. However, it appears, on the face of it and to the community at least, that they'll continue to delete comments and remain silent in the hopes that we will forget it. It's great if they're not but say so.
...honestly OP you're the last one to talk about censorship, seriously you're the biggest hypocrite ever.
Honestly OP you're the last one to be talking about censorship. You're complaining about mods? ..dude you're part of the problem. You have to be the biggest hypocrite ever... ...waiting for more of your incoherent self serving over rationalizing ramblings (I see you disbanded your pathetic clan ...too bad) iPhone
Avatar - Yes the devs can delete whatever, it is there game - BUT WE PAY THEM - or do you not understand how the world works. Devs want to censor and push out paying players - it is their game - but that doesn't mean it won't affect their game. Maybe you as a mod should ask some questions and find out why the huge censorship push and inform those of us who miss the old forums. Just a thought.
I kinda already took my liberties at insulting the dev's and the new forum layout on another thread previously... But yes we are in a lul between major incidents at the moment. Also forums seem a bit more unwelcoming with this format, cool idea kinda, but bad implementation. All we asked for back was: clearer color patterns, and to display original dates a thread was created instead of when the last comment was made on it.
What are you talking about? What have I done that makes me a hypocrite? And what clan are you talking about???
Not too long ago, a mod tried to interact with the kawmunity, and took a list of concerns/possible improvements, and the etcetera, and then resigned as mod after trying to act as liaison to the devs. That pretty much spoke volumes to me about how much is cared about the actually game on the whole.
