  1. A lot of people post threads today assuming they're being held to some sort of generic standard that they must have bbcodes or gifs in their opening posts. This isn't true and it's getting kind of worrying that people think they're being held to this.

I'm not going to point out why this started because I'm sure most of you know, but it's caused a bit of unrest in the forum community.

Just want let everyone know that there isn't some sort of hidden requirement that you have to use bbcodes or pictures in your posts. Just don't make one liners or anything like that, stick a little effort into your posts and make sure they aren't trashy.

  2. "Yeah, let's do exactly as sethosaurus commands because they are forum royalty"

    Lolno.

  3. ...

Seriously though, gifs and bbcodes do help polish that turd, but if that turd isn't well written or thought out, no amount of gifs will help..

This is also the forums of a tap tap game, so we really shouldnt expect that much anyways..

  4. You must be mistaken, peasant. For I have not commanded.

Seriously where did I say "don't do this because I said so"

That's not the message I put across and I would appreciate if you would just not.

  5. This is just as much of a problem as the belief that pictures and BB codes are needed to make a 'good' thread. Quality not quantity. Some threads require a few paragraphs of explanation, others require only a few lines or even one line. Every thread is different. Maybe 'What's your opinion on restricting smoking in light of the new laws that have come in to place in America?' (Completely random and fictional example) is suffice to start a discussion and debate between the forumers.

Neither BB codes nor pictures nor lines of information is required to make a good thread. It's about the quality of what is written, whether you deliver that in 1000 words or 10 doesn't matter. Neither does one line equate to low effort, contrary to some people's belief.

  6. ^ exactly, and just like with everything, there's certain exceptions to the rules. Dilly's question thread is a great example.

  7. Will this stop me from being not good enough for forums

  8. Commanded is a strong word, told everyone to do something so it makes you happy seems more suitable.

Just don't make another rant thread or anything like that, throw another competition thread (those go well)

    Lol

  9. There's a difference between advice and commanding (you used that term first, not me, so don't pin that on me). And ToU says that as well, there's no problem reiterating the rules, is there?

  10. Didn't I just correct my usage of the word "commanded"?

Be sure to answer a person appropriately in your future posts, amigo.

Who even mentioned the tou? lol

  11. 

  12. Seth. Let's put this simple, you probably don't recognise me with this name but that's okay. Now, reiterating the RoC isn't something that will ver gain you favour in the community here as a whole, you'll get labelled with the same label as those who report anything that could be deemed as "grey area"

As for posting for the sake of posting, some people do it for post counts, some do it for their own amusement.

As for those 1 line threads, are you counting the questions thread in this? Over 30k posts in there and thousands of answered questions. The OP was 1 line, does that in your eyes deem it as a bad post? Or a bad thread?

  13. ^Neither, it just needs a few... bbcodes

  14. Well this was a waste of a read.
How's about we forum the way we please?
BRING ON DA BB N DA GIFS (I'm lookin at you, Prime.)

  15. I knew that
