leaderboard rankings

  1. So this is sort of a question as well as an idea.
When you look at the leader boards (unless you are massive) it will almost always say "unranked". My question is WHY isn't everyone ranked..? Is there a technical reason for this that I'm just missing?

My idea is that at some point we get extended leader boards. That way you can actually see what your rank is without having to be LCBC.
Having said that, I do realise there are a lot of inactive players etc etc.. To deal with this, you are only counted on the leader board if you have been active in the past 7days or something like this.

This would be really good as you would actually be able to see your progress (or lack of) in a tangible way.

I searched forums and found nothing like this.. But if there is another post like this with an explanation as to why it wouldn't work, please let me know.

  2. It wont work because the leaderboard is for the top 10 000, which is really just the top 1000 and their alts..

Seriously though, it's so you will continue spending money to see yourself get ranked.. The devs are sneaky sneaky like those North Koreans..

  3. Current LB rankings only show to those who are the top 10k in each category

  4. Yes I understand that. My point is that it shouldn't be top 10,000, but rather everyone gets ranked. I'd be more likely to spend money if I could see it was getting me somewhere.

  5. I know. I'm asking WHY it's only the top 10k.

  6. I'm round *k on lb. I'm no where near LCBC.

    Don't disillusion yourself there.

Probably could be on Lb with around 40mil cs and a few okay ish allies if you wanted. Not as much competition for these spots like you would think.

  7. Interesting, are you talking about overall Lb?

  8. THE REASON IS SO YOU WILL SPEND MORE MONEY!

The top 10k is plenty to rank, otherwise the leaderboard wouldn't be a leaderboard if every new account was on it.. Does that make sense? Leaderboard ranking doesn't count towards anything other than how much you spend... So if you want to be on it you should keep spending...

Good luck and thanks for playing Kaw

  9. Yes overall.

Also it takes up room on server and makes lb updates take much longer if they extend the range.

More of a hassle to code it and to change something that already works fine.

  10. I'm not talking about having a leader board that you can literally scroll through and see. It's more about just having a rank. No one else can see your rank unless you're on the top of the Lb, so it's not "devaluing" the Lb is every new account has a rank. It would actually bring more value to it since you'd know just how many people you are stronger/weaker than.

  11. Thankyou for your response. That makes sense I guess..
It would just be nice to be able to see your rank without having to be very big.
Btw, how often do they update?

  12. Its a prestige kind of thing. Why take that away from the people that have earned it.

It's like giving someone a medal for just showing up and watching someone else win.

Also keep in mind that their are 5 lb's or so depending if your on pc or not.

  13. They update around 9-9:30 a.m. U.S. Central time.

  14. It's not taking anything away.. They still have their rank.

  15. But the mystery of everyone else not knowing what their own personal rank below 10k, is what motivates it on a level.

It's not that the idea takes their rank, it's that it removes an element of the feeling of success from the achievement.

  16. Well what if inactive players were discounted from the calculations..? So to keep it at 10k, but anyone who doesn't log in for a week will not be counted until they log in again.

  17. So someone isn't on for a week, a month, or more? They don't get to keep their spot just cause they didn't get on? Well that would just distort the true image of the lb. people always gaining and loosing a spot based on activity.

Comes round to coding as well. Once you have something that works you probably don't want to start changing things very much. If my experience on the matter is of any insight.

  18. If you're inactive you will lose your Lb spot eventually. Simple as that. Game is always changing and evolving so if you are inactive you will fall behind and no longer be ranked.
It also wouldn't mean they'd "lose their rank".. They would only "lose their rank" so long as they don't log in for X amount of time.

  19. I'm not BC have a way to go and I'm 3.5k on overall put some work in.

  20. Op is pissed that they were inactive for so long they are no longer ranked... Sorry about your luck bud
